  1. I have been at every home game and watched every away game. I haven’t ever seen the team looking down and not ready. Undisciplined at times yes, most young teams are.
  2. I have often read comments like this. I really don’t understand them. Seth is not a “screamer” style of coach. He keeps his emotions under control. This is professional and shows composure under pressure. Okay to be critical of coaching results. I wish people would rise above criticism of a coaches personality and professionalism. JMO
  3. Bringing 6. GMG!!!
  4. We caught lightning in a bottle with Fine. No D1 and very few D2’s had any interest in him as a QB. I honestly thought we would switch him to slot receiver. Glad we didn’t. QB’s have been recruited and transfers brought in. All these have been busts (jury is still out on Ruder). Will the quality of the QB’s willing to play at UNT because we will be playing in a tougher conference improve?
  5. Not literal sins. Just not emphasizing defense like skill positions were and unproductive transfer players.
  6. Is Seth damned for his past sins? Past teams had so much recruiting effort for better skill position players. Defense seemed to be an afterthought. It showed every time we played a good team. Changes have finally been made (DC & defensive asst., productive transfers) and that side is showing huge improvement. Can Seth continue to grow this program? With UNT moving on to a “better conference”, will we be able to land some better transfer portal players that want to play against better competition (QB, D-Line, O-line)?
  7. I don’t think it can happen this year. But if we could do it, yes, we should never turn down a chance to play in a bowl.
  8. Can we do better? Or do you wish we could do better? UNT doesn’t have a history of developing QB’s. We currently have 6 QB (a couple are 4 stars) offers listed. All but one have committed to another D1 program. We keep taking the best we can get. Hasn’t worked out so far. Maybe taking an undersized kid who has talent and isn’t getting D1 offers will work out. We caught lightning in a bottle once before.
  9. We didn’t pull the offer to Holgorsen. He decommited. Look it up on 247sports.com. Really hard for you to argue with facts. Again we are making offers to QB’s. Just offered the UNI QB. He also has 7 other D1 offers. He set freshman passing record for UNI. Undersized (5’11”) could work in our favor with bigger D1 programs taking him. We keep trying. We got our last undersized QB because he was undersized and got no D1 offers at all.
  10. Please… Other programs saw potential in these 3 star QB’s also. They didn’t live up to expectations. Even 4 and 5 star QB’s flop. If every coach got fired because a recruit didn’t live up to expectations, all programs would fire their coaches every year.
  11. 2020 Kade Renfro 2019 Logan Holgorsen 2018 The kid that went to a prep school (can’t recall his name, but I believe he signed at Miami). We used to have one and occasionally two decent seasons (9 wins) then drop back down to the cellar. We aren’t dropping like that now. The problem is we haven’t risen to the top either. If we had better QB play, do you think we could have beaten LaTech, Liberty, and possibly even SMU? One above average QB and this team would look different.
  12. Evaluating players is what spring training is for.
  13. We aren’t a monster yet. We have been consistently better. The problem is that “consistently better” has been lower 1/3 to top 2/3’s. Becoming a top 1/3 team consistently for a program like ours will take time. Recruiting has to keep getting better (it is getting better). Getting some better quality players from the portal (we got some on defense, offense has been inconsistent). How many good QB’s have pledged for months only to flip right before signing day to a bigger program? So many have said this young team is going to play so well for the next coach. They will play well for the current coach also.
  14. Exactly. If you can go to a team that needs you and can play against better competition that would be viewed by NFL scouts as a good indicator of your skills, why would you transfer to a team that plays in a weaker conference against lower quality teams?
  15. Your right. Build a smallish stadium that never sells out, a smallish weight room that the football program has to share with all programs, a small training room to treat all of the programs injuries, and a really nice indoor practice facility. UNT should be a top 25 program annually!!! Not unrealistic at all…
  16. Your right. It is so easy to change a good QB’s mind about going to another program and come play for UNT. The list of quality QB’s that Seth has turned away is so long. Changing a culture unfortunately takes a long time. Every program wants an above average QB. Just like us.
  17. QB’s transfer to a program that can win. If you can’t play defense, you will never win. Don’t kid yourself it is only about getting playtime.
  18. Drummond is a redshirt. If we could ever blow out a team, he probably would get some live action playtime. The other’s, if they can’t run the offense in practice, what makes you think that they can do it during a game??? The “best” QB is out there. He is just below average.
  19. How about you tap the brakes on your opinion about how Seth isn’t a QB guru. Did anyone ever say he was when he came here? Many P5 programs are struggling with the same issue. Good QB transfers haven’t wanted to come here because our defense sucked. Now we are fixing that and you are complaining???
  20. I was thinking it is a green helmet with black wings.
  21. I agree with this statement. Better QB play and healthy wide receivers and we would have beat SMU and LaTech. Too many 3 and outs wore down the good efforts of a defense that was learning a new system.
  22. USM has played in 7 CUSA championships since 1996. They won 4. We were destroyed in 1 attempt. Maybe you shouldn’t kick a program that is down. Just saying.
  23. With the NCAA correction forfeit, yes. We have never won 10 games ever.
  24. We have never won 10 games. Ever…
