  1. Memphis has a very good run defense. Passing defense is their “weakness”. I am hoping Aune plays the game of his life. Memphis has a good passing offense. We can’t pressure opposing QB’s and in turn our coverages are exploited. Can we develop a consistent pass rush? Let’s hope… Memphis 38 UNT 13
  2. Yep. Doesn’t that make you wonder about the status of the backups? Or the QB coaches ability to develop better technique with all of the QB’s? If you are afraid to have the starting QB run with the ball because the backups can’t play, that’s a huge problem.
  3. I believe Aune will be the QB for this season unless he gets hurt or forgets how to hand off the ball. Next year’s QB battle will be between Gunnell and Ruder. Hopefully this experiment using an offensive line coach as a QB coach will be recognized as a mistake and we get a QB coach that can help them with their mechanics. Proper technique really does matter.
  4. The garbage time completions came when UNLV had their 3&4 stringers playing on defense. Other programs are getting transfer players from FBS schools. We are getting JuCo’s, FCS players, and Division 2’s. Just a big difference in talent.
  5. Just doesn’t happen often enough.
  6. I honestly don’t understand Littrell’s desire to keep playing Aune. I read after spring ball Aune made a huge jump. Then I read during summer training how his accuracy improved. Then I watch the games and wonder when it will show up in an actual game??? Other teams QB’s we have played against haven’t completed every pass. But when they do it usually is in stride and chest high. I am tired of watching our receivers slow down for a ball that they do catch. Or watching the ball skip at their feet or sail over their heads. Aune is great at handing off to our good running backs. Any of the other QB’s should be able to do that. We need someone that can throw accurately as well.
  7. Hell, put soccer up top. At least they win conference championships.
  8. Siggers doesn’t play for us. KD is a great player for us and I am glad he stayed. He was going to be a depth/defensive package player at A&M or Ol’ Miss. He is an every down LB for us.
  9. Why don’t you go to the stadium from the south or from the east? Avoid the IH35/Bonnie Brae intersection. I avoid all lines into Blue lot that way. On second thought, keep going the way you are. I don’t like lines either.
  10. SMU is loaded with NFL/USFL talent. Our best players can’t even make a practice squad roster. SMU collapsed at the end of last season after hearing the HC was leaving. They upgraded the coaching staff and reloaded with quality transfers. We brought in JuCo’s and some division 2 players. While promoting our offensive line coach to help our QB’s. Whose team isn’t special???
  11. We are still undefeated in conference. So there is that…
  12. Yep. And I believe part of the conditions to enter the AAC is we don’t get the TV money for the first year either.
  13. Even if we stayed in CUSA Wren has to make unpopular decisions in order to keep the coaches he wants. If he paid Littrell to go away, he wouldn’t have been able to raise the salaries for the coaches he wants (McCasland, DeLong, Mitchell, track coach…). Can’t spend money you don’t have.
  14. I listened to a podcast this summer and Wren stated UNT’s entire coaching budget is $40 million. For comparison SMU is $90 million. He stated sometimes changes are not made in order to afford keeping coaches. Example: If Littrell is fired, he gets his buyout, then new football coach gets a well compensated contract and his new assistants as well. There wouldn’t be enough money to keep deserving coaches like McCasland or DeLong. This sucks but is a reality.
  15. We got there early for tailgating. So many cars already parked, but no crowd. I’m betting that the students aren’t moving their cars from the blue lot on game day like they have in the past. I thought it odd only one person was scanning parking passes as early as I got there. Really surprised friends that arrived at game time still only saw one person scanning them in and or turning them away from the blue lot.
  16. I agree. Matching last year’s efficiency would be fine. Improvement needs to happen with the passing game. JMO
  17. I hope this is true and works for us. Even looking at AAC offensive lines for two games this year and then next, we’re smallish on the defensive line. Will likely need the linebackers to play lights out as the D-line might wear down if rotations are short.
  18. That is a beefy offensive line. I hope we have backup defensive linemen that are capable of rotating in without a drop off in ability.
  19. I am hoping he is an opposing offense’s worst nightmare.
  20. Stadium is free in the DFW area if you have a HD antenna, ROKU device, or you can download the app and then cast it to your TV. The announcers aren’t the best… but at least you can watch the game.
  21. Surgery for a torn ACL. Recovery will likely be a year. He won’t be available until spring ball most likely.
  22. Saw that. Wondering what he injured. Hip, knee, shoulder, neck, break a bone requiring surgery to repair???
  23. Saw a recent social media post from him stating he was having surgery and would be back stronger. Anyone know what his injury was? Be able to practice/play in the fall?
  24. Troll site. No truth.
  25. This is total BS!!! Why would LR risk getting NCAA sanctions against him for recruiting violations at his new university his first year? Absolute crap!!!
