  1. With the two of them, our secondary will be really good. Hopefully shutting down some of those big plays and scores. Leading to lower scores by our opponents and more WINS!!!
  2. I attended six of the top attended games at the Super Pit, I sat on the steps at the smu game. The atmosphere at all those games was out of sight, most of those big games were when NTSU had less than 20,000 students. If the students ever really start to show up we will all be glad that the SP is still there, it is a real advantage!
  3. One of only two teams from Texas in the rankings the other being UT
  4. Is this a trap game?
  5. It was a great game, never should have ended up that close. Tech’s defense came alive in the second half, they were almost like another team.
  6. Winning changes everything. TCU used to be a joke. Win and win consistently and they will come. I also believe that this administration understands and has made a commitment to athletics. If that commitment continues and I believe it will, in conjunction with our new conference and teams people recognize and the additional monies associated, that things will continue to improve. Our new AD and coach will lead us ever onward and upward! GMG
  7. Middle of the league in the first year. Champions in four years!
  8. I believe that just might happen, I am hoping anyway!
  9. I do not know what the total might be but I would bet more than half of our new coaching staff has some, actually a strong tie to Texas Tech. Particularly it seems to have a Mike Leach/Air raid flavor. If they can catch lightning in a bottle, hold on!
  10. I already love our new conference and all the teams are recognizable, add a new coach and added staff, maybe a hot transfer or two….. could be a fun year!
  11. Mean Green pull an upset. I cannot reveal the score and ruin the suspense!!!
  12. Personally, I have not heard any of the candidates for the Head Coaching position mention anything negative about the job. In fact I do not believe I have heard anything from any of the presumed candidates good bad or indifferent. I takes this as generally a positive sign as no one at least publicly has denigrated UNT and I do not mean that to be negative. I would say all of the presumed candidates at least appear amenable to the proposition. Lets do what it takes to get the BEST one!
  13. A friend of mine in Austin, a UNTer told me it was Beard's "fiancé" and he had been drinking.
  14. I believe an announcement tomorrow (at least I hope)
  15. I'll respond to the original question. 1. Continue to implement the current construction plans of the athletic department offices and facilities 2. Marketing of our Athletic program and all that entails and it needs to done correctly and not on the cheap 3. Add baseball and the appropriate women's programs, we need a sponsor(s) $$$ alumni and corporate I was fortunate to attend NTSU during the tenure of Athletic Director and Head Football coach Hayden Fry and Bill Blakely in men's basketball. Attendance was not a problem because the above mentioned programs were winners. We will be receiving more money and earning more money when we join the AAC. I suspect that where there is a will, we will find a way!
  16. Just my opinion, the longer it goes without an announcement of a new head coach, I believe the worse it gets. We probably had our first choice turn us down and or cannot come to terms with him and our next choice. I would have hoped and prayed that they had a short list of candidates before we parted ways with Seth….
  17. New coach, maybe a new “skipper” on Monday……
  18. I hope they already have SL’s replacement or a real short list if not then it is old Denton. Somehow I thing New Denton might be here to stay!
  19. This shows a commitment by the administration to maintaining a quality athletic program in all sports, I am a little surprised but I believe Wren leaving sped up the timetable and I believe they already have a short list and I would not be surprised if SL’s replacement is announced Monday or Tuesday. If not they might have really jumped the gun.
  20. We are not about to play in the Cotton Bowl, it would be nice to win the Frisco Bowl but we are just as likely to do it without Seth as with him. Seth is a good man and he can be proud of the problem free program he ran but it was time for a change. I wish him well and success in the future as long as it is not against us.
  21. West Virginia is paying us money for Wren’ buyout. Easy Peasey, take that money apply it to SL’s buyout and there you GO!!!
  22. I couldn’t decide on what to call this topic. If we are willing to accept mediocrity, then we keep SL. I do understand that we were not doing that well previously but this continuously hitting six sh*t really needs to stop. This is where the insanity comes in, doing the same thing over and over and accepting it is insanity and it is getting real old. I had a business partner tell me one time, “we need to do something, anything, even if it is the wrong thing”. I am not advocating doing the wrong thing but doing the same thing is wrong!
