I wish we'd looked better offensively last night but I'm going to choose to be grateful for the defensive play and how far this team has come since Coach McCasland arrived. It wasn't that long ago that we had Coach Benford looking like he didn't know what we was doing and a team that, despite talented players, would barely squeak out wins to cupcake teams.

There could have been enough evidence but perhaps the investigation wasn't handled properly. It's sadly pretty common for sexual assault allegations to not lead to actual charges.

How the University handled the victim's complaints. Also, they could possibly do more investigating into the assistant coach's role in all of this. Just my guess.

True but I understand why the victim felt like she should have at least had the opportunity to talk to them.

According to the story, the University told the victim to work with campus police only and not Denton police so if they can't handle the investigation they should have handed it over to another authority.

Nope. Two of the guys were charged with prostitution. No one was officially charged with sexual assault.

From what I understand, none of the guys have been charged with sexual assault so I get why the victim would be upset about that. Plus the university spent almost $100,000 to investigate the issue and none of the investigators met with her or the RA who witnessed the phone conversation. That would be frustrating and it does stink of cover up. All of the guys are gone from the campus but this still could lead to additional investigations. I also don't remember ever hearing that David Anwar was potentially involved before last night's report which is concerning. If I were New Mexico State, I'd start asking him some tough questions.

I completely agree with your second point and I know we can't really close the tailgating areas. I'm just frustrated with our students not showing up more for the team.

Does our O-line enjoy watching their QB get beat up every week? He is running for his life out there with no protection or time. The Rice defense should not have been able to get to Fine as many times as they did today. That poor guy was doing every thing he could to win the game for us even after all of those hits.

Can we close off the tailgating areas a few minutes before kickoff? Tell people to come in to the game or go home? It's ridiculous how many people stay out there instead of coming in to actually support the team.

That's a big time FERPA violation and definitely not something a professor should be telling people.

I wonder who else will be next.

Carlos Ortiz is a new dad so he's probably taking a break to be with his wife and baby.
