  1. 0 shot. 1. Fan base is burnt out on losing 2. Fan base is tired of SL 3. Tday weekend It will be an echo chamber. I was pretty disappointed in the Homecoming attendance for a few reasons. 1. Homecoming 2. Playing bowl eligibility 3. Beautiful weather 4. Team was playing decently well I'll be honest, and I might be in the minority here, but I'm not sure I want to be limping into the Alamodome for what will surely be a blowout loss, on national television. I'd almost rather take that Rice L. 1. Avoid a national TV embarrassment. 2. Seth Littrell will be gone 3. Bowl opponent will be a lesser challenge 4. Interim coach, hopefully Cobbs, might be able to rejuvenate the team and lead them to a piece of hardware. 5. Seth Littrell will be gone
  2. Very tragic. I read that 1 or all of the victims involved were apart of snitching on the suspect for X reason that led to the suspects dismissal from the football team. This wasn't random, but vengeance it appears. Nevertheless, very tragic stuff for that community and certainly that football program.
  3. 2 of his 5 bowl appearances* were gifts. They weren't earned by performance on the field. And it's not that damn hard to get to 6 wins in CUSA. It should be the bare minimum, not standard. * @Brett Vito fails to mention that when he's basically advocating for an extension due to all of the "success". He also fails to mention the 7,472 bowl games when mentioning Seth Littrell's bowl "appearance" accomplishment in relation to UNT's past bowl invitations.
  4. He will calculate his decision. As I stated, understanding his personality, I just don't see him going to a lower tiered P5. He knows capturing success there will be very difficult. I have read Georgia Tech is in on him hard. The issue with Georgia Tech is that Clemson, FSU and UNC looms large. Then the end of year cherry on top vs UGA every year. That's a tall task for a guy that calculates his success very carefully. And Ga Tech is an example of the type of 'P5' that might try to bring him on. The mountain(s) is steep. At UNT, a region of the country he likes to call home, has a lot of pieces in place. He will be generously paid in relation to his AAC peers. He also knows a transfer class and a HS class can put him in the drivers seat of proving what he can do at the FBS level very quickly. Then, the more powerful programs very well might come knocking.
  5. Yeah, I'm afraid of this. I don't understand as to why. Regardless of what happens the remaineder of this season, there is 0% chance of Seth Littrell having success in the AAC. Zero. That alone should trigger change.
  6. Nothing. If you really peel back all of the layers of the UAB game, that is Seth Littrell. Keeping him would be neglecting the fan base. It can't be afforded.
  7. I'm not sure of his of his X and O suave, but I am aware of his coaching resume. His resume suggests he can't go to a lowly P5 (which would be the type of P5 that might hire him) and win big. He'll probably be outcoached and won't have the better players. Big time programs view him as too risky right now (AU has already floated it out that they're not hiring him). So, this puts him in the G5 arena if he's moving on from JSU. He knowingly loves the DFW area. Landing him would be the single greatest thing that WB ever does for UNT. And he may come here and busts. But with his recruiting prowess, I just can't imagine a scenario that he's not able to substantially elevate our program. Worse Case Scenario: Another AAC team lands him. Best Case Scenario: he signs the #1 recruiting class in the AAC for however long he's here while finally allowing UNT to keep home grown talent at home. And I bet he brings in UNT's first HS 4* and probably multiple of the them. It would be crazy around here.
  8. This is #2 for me.
  9. This right here. And if we could manage to do this, everything will be different.
  10. Dang we pack the weak side way in and they whip it around so fast and our close out wing is still basically on the block. Their ball movement is impressive. Our D is unimpressive.
  11. It wasn't pretty, at all.
  12. Well, I'm not sure. 2 choices: Stay the course and roll with status quo or make a very, very expensive change. I hope their little cult down there falls in football purgatory, but if I'm an ATM alum I would be definitely siding with making a change.* Fisher is 3-7 in year 5 with boatloads of resources and a fat salary. Pretty inexcusable. *Those that negotiated the current contract with the school can't be in the same state when a new hire is made.
  13. Well, they snag an at large here and there, for sure. They have Gonzaga, but they have well branded and competitive basketball programs; Zags, SMC, San Fran, Pepperdine, BYU, USD, etc. Those listed programs could probably come into CUSA and make a lot of noise.
  14. Knew nothing of us. Reading the margin, had to look it up. 132-57. That's pretty gross.
  15. I believe he's now -6 of Kevin Sumlin's record after the same amount of games played. The difference, besides him being objectively worse than Kevin Sumlin, is he's being paid twice as much. This was given to Jimbo Fisher after he was hired...
  16. I didn't expect to win this. I did expect to see grit. Sheesh.
  17. No idea. But there is no fomo going on. It's a bludgeoning.
  18. McCasland has been coaching his tail off since he's been here. He has been coaching with zero margin for error. But to put it as kindly as I can, he's not recruiting well. Having 2 caliber starters out doesn't help the situation, but I'm led to believe it wouldn't matter here right now.
  19. Credit to SMC for always being consistently good. It's that much more impressive considering there are countless DFW high school facilities nicer than what they have going on there. GMG
  20. Wanna win at a high level, gotta recruit at a high level. Go get Deion.
  21. I know this is an old post, so you're saying 7-7 warrants an extension
  22. Ding. Ding. Ding. 100%. Recruit better. Texas State, UTEP, Rice (given the kid isn't a brainiac), and 0 lower level teams than us should ever land a kid we would like in our state. Then, we actually have to start battling for kids that smu, uh, utsa, etc. are after and actually land them here and there. Getting Deion in here, he would start to make major headway with local kids and our classes would be amazing. His prowess + our facilities + us moving to the AAC = no brain hire.
  23. Zero vs an interim staff.
