  1. Yeah... because the minor league baseball teams are killing it in attendance, revenue, tv slots, etc.
  2. We played White Hall High School when I was in high school as a district opponent in all sports. White Hall is considered the "nice" suburb... Pine Bluff is certainly a cesspool.
  3. My house in kiowa dodged the tornado in Valley View. The loss of the life over there is tragic, I think it was 7 total, 4 children.
  4. Jay Bilas is a douchebag. Always has been.
  5. Okie st has been better than ut this past decade.
  6. P5 quality is very subjective. Is Boston College p5 quality? Is Rutgers? Etc. Etc. Well, according to their conference commissioners... they are. Smu is no less than those middling/cellar p5 programs. Many of g5 programs could surpass those type programs with the proper patch/tv revenue.
  7. It's all relative in terms of who we are and what they are. Put a sunbelt/cusa/MVC patch on their jerseys for their premiere years and see where they are. If you think they're a lightly supported program now (vs their "peers"), imagine doing that to them out there in Lubbock. Then, put a big12/SWC patch on our jerseys since the 60s. See what I'm saying? Their little success is created by their opportunities.
  8. Uh huh... but what is it that you DO.
  9. This isn't about me. This is about the debate in which we're having. It's a debate you easily lost and you chose bits as an off ramp. But keep to your bits, buddy.
  10. Yeah.. no reply of worth. No refute. Now you're going to insults because you're standing there with nothing to say with substance.
  11. That's just it dumbass... Mason did put in a ton of work... and his reward is holding a jockstrap in Canada. Work has some to do with it, but you imply that it has everything to do with it. If it did, Mason Fine, and players like him would be NFL HoF. But Mason is short with pedestrian arm strength and no amount of "work" was ever going to change that. Your other dumbass implication that people don't work hard at what they do is just a very you thing to say.
  12. That's the logical thing to do. But they aren't standing up for their stepping stone job and blacklist themselves from their dream of coaching/administrating at a p5. And that's why little vague comments on social media from these people faking outrage is beyond irrelevant.
  13. Awesome stuff.
  14. Sure. And I'm not blaming him. It's not his fault. But don't post vague disappointments. Air the dirty laundry and be very specific in the wrongdoings.
  15. Ok... don't bitch about it if you're not coming up with solutions for it. Otherwise, you're no different than myself. And if you're no different than myself, why is my university paying you 6-700k a year and me zerok a year.
  16. Man... no. You're on here as a UNT alum typing lies to defend a university that isn't yours. And we wonder why we don't have supportive alum. This is exhibit A.
  17. Wtf... lol. No, they are not. They have a geographic upper hand on us. They claim large swaths and the people in them as their own. It's worked for them, and good for them. But they are by no means superior to us. Historically, they are bad to extremely mediocre in just about everything they do. Yeah, Yeah - touche, we are, too. I would call us 2 peas in a pod well before I called them superior. However, UNT at least has SOME history.
  18. Wonder how much wider they'll have to make seats in 2050? At our pace, can you imagine 2100? DATCU might have a 20k capacity then. But don't worry, there are sports and an election year to distract us from the poisonous food they overcharge us.
  19. He has successful bulletpoints as a P5 OC on his resume already. Ultimately, it's dependent on his network.
  20. I'm not talking about anything NIL related until athletic departments inevitably take that over. In the now, I would start by cutting football support staff in half. I would push that money into basketball for recruiting, uniforms, in-season basketball marketing campaigns, pre-season meet the team night wit pyroworks, lazer shows, fog machines, giveaways, etc, basketball guest speakers for team/alum/fans, etc.
  21. For the record, I am not stating we need to disband the football program. All I am saying is that while we're sitting here with patience knowing the football program is spinning tires, why not dump some more funding into a sport where we have a chance to compete given the current landscape. The rules will not allow UNT football to prosper. It just isn't going to happen. That's very evident. If something takes place per rule changes that would be advantageous to UNT football then those funds could easily be restored. I never see that happening. Networks and major conferences will not allow it.
  22. So, hope is your plan. No forward thinking, innovating, rethinking collegiate sports, etc. Just.... hope. Hope has gotten us exactly where we are right now. Hope ain't it.
