Facts? Like, UNT not being University of North Texas? I'm confused.
-
We need to drop the North Texas charade. Every respectable directional school or elongated name uses acronyms. UCF, SMU, FAU, ECU, UTEP, USC, etc. MAC directional schools and FCS say the entire name for recognition. Eastern Wash, Northern Arizona, all of the MACs, North Dak St, etc. We are UNT. North Texas is the region in which UNT sits. Don't worry, we can still do our North - Texas chant at games.

We are all aware of NIL and how the game is really changing, good and/or bad. There are rumblings of NIL starting to pre-date the NCAAF scholarship limit set in the early 90s to what is 85. Allegedly, programs have or will soon start money whipping recruits to be walk-ons whereas some of that NIL money will be given to also allow the recruit to pay for their tuition. They will be able to maintain that "85" scholarship limit while stacking talent with NIL cash. Regulation has to happen and it has to happen this off-season. Not on the timeline of want to be bureaucrats with their self inflicted red tape. Anyway, how's our recruiting going?

Transfer TE expected to visit Hogs

I can't relate to inferiority complexes and the desire to be needed with constant affirmation that comes with it. -
Maybe the most vague comment you've ever posted.

Adding HS Coaches to Staffs
NorthTexasWeLove replied to El Paso Eagle's topic in Mean Green Football
For "connections". It's so blown out of proportion. But I guess HS coaches are going to continue to to try to rattle the chain link fence in hopes that they one day can be like Bobby here in this scenario. To me, it's very overrated. -
Facts.

Given the way college athletics is setup, patience has shrunk tremendously. There is no more a thing of a 4 or 5 year "plan". Given these said rules, better go get your players and you better go get them fast. Because if you don't get them then someone else will. With that said, I always like to see a team with 0 quit in year 1. Visible and quantifiable results in year 2. In year 3, you better be firing on all cylinders. I didn't create the rules, the NCAA did. Coaches best start using them to their advantage.

Yes, yes he will. No one is saying that players can't leave on their free will. The problem is dumbass, cheating coaches plucking players off of active rosters while they are not in the portal. A program can come pluck Traylor out of his contract, sure. But that program has to pay a literal price to do it, and it's not against the rules. The literal only rule seemingly in existence in the NCAA is to not recruit rostered players. People are doing it and the people doing it are hedging their bets that the NCAA will not do anything about it. And they're probably right, unless of course, Robert Morris or Stony Brook tries to pluck a player. Then, hammer drops. The NFL has more rules in place than college football. This has to be reexamined and tweaked. Then rules have to be enforced by the book.

UNT TRANSFER PORTAL ACTIVITY
NorthTexasWeLove replied to El Paso Eagle's topic in Mean Green Football
Lack of PT, change of staff, and the recruit decommits probably have programs that actually have an operable NIL program sniffing around. -
He commands 4-6 touches a game, minimum. Maybe new staff will see to it.

In the context of what you're talking about it's all meaningless. But let me get your thoughts on the idea of punting it away here and preserving a 3 point loss?

Why not sit out in vs utsa last week? Or the season finale? Or homecoming vs FIU? Or the season opener? Or just never play. It's a part of the game. Wonder when contract year NFL players are just gonna hang it up for the year.
