  1. That's great. We are clearly putting together a recruiting staff on paper. I'm pumped for that. I think dividends can happen. But, I feel like we're slow balling this. Does the crew have start dates? Are they waiting for a new year new them? Let's get to cookin.
  2. BS. We were 123rd or 124th in total defense. KD was an often times very lone bright spot in what was usually a pretty pathetic group. Group as in defense.
  3. I'm sorry, where was I singling anyone out. But pass that info along, big boy. Or are you asking for it?
  4. Well, shit. DLs are very important hires. This seems like a poor hire. But, again, I hope he's working with studs. That's TBD, crickets are starting to chirp... a little.
  5. I don't give a damn about who is coaching. I care who they're coaching. He could be a linebacker whisperer, but if he's coaching undersized soft steppin puss', it don't matter. Now, go land some legitimate talent.
  6. No doubt. Bleeding the shot on pressure moments isn't helping either.
  7. FAU is a scrappy bunch. And big. Real big.
  8. Throughout the game, we must've missed 10-12 wiiiiide open shots. Up 9 and lose at home is tough and the crowd was trying to drag them to the finish line. But sucking the life out of the clock to 3 or 4 and then trying to find a rhythm in basketball is a poor strategy. But that is who GM is and it killed his team tonight.
  9. Officiating was awful. But the offense is inept. Relying that heavily on defense is a play not to lose mentality with a 9 point lead under 4.
  10. FT attempts: 13 to 2.
  11. As someone else pointed out and I find it funny, but someone with UNT in their name stating that we should use North Texas while someone with North Texas in their name stating we should roll with UNT. It's as if we don't know what we want as much as the university. Hence the major problem with branding status quo.
  12. Touche. But, also, no need for a branding restructure for this site. I think?
  13. Yeah, I guess the majority here grace their presence among well articulated people of academia. I swing through the places of peasants.
  14. In your opinion, sure. But no one is stating they graduated from Southern Cal, btw. They say SC or USC. But, as you were.
  15. Is North Texas = Southern Cal? Does SoCal struggle with recognition and branding? It is not one and the same.
  16. The current name of the university you graduated from is the University of North Texas. The first line of OUR fight song is... Let's give a cheer for U of NT! On the pants of of your football teams uniform all have UNT. The primary logo used by your athletic teams on ESPN has a diving eagle with UNT spelt out beside it.
  17. No, it's not a bad theory to try to reach that as a goal in substance, of course. In school name, yes, that's a bad thing. We can still be the University of North Texas in name and geography.
  18. That's your experience. I am not a Texan. I regularly travel to Cali, Florida, Tenn, Arkansas and Florida multiple times a year to all places. Typically, no one has any idea what I am referring to when I use to say North Texas. I have had people ask me on multiple occasions where in North Texas did I go to school. We are severely underbranded. And using one of the largest metropolitan regions in the country as our college name is not a good platform in an attempt to grow a brand. Just because something always has been doesn't mean it always should be. But, again, this is my experience.
  19. I disagree. NCTC is a comm college/trade school. Using the logic by some on here, they very well could ans should start referring to themselves as North Texas. I mean, it's in the name, right? RIGHT?
  20. It's not nitpicking at all. It's simply being a legitimate program that has or has not kept up with the times. Our entire social media game could use a tremendous upswing.
  21. Exactly. The local heads that only leave the North Texas region (if ever) to go to Destin in the summer or skiing in NM in the winter (if that) have no idea of how bad the branding outside of this bubble actually is. I've truly had people ask me "where" when I've said North Texas in the past. As in, where in North Texas. Since, and for running years, I only ever say UNT. That basic 'U' in front of the NT creates legitimacy.
  22. Because North Texas coincides with a giant populated region that is not just locally recognized as such, but nationally. We, the University of North Texas, is located in North Texas. We are NOT North Texas. We are IN North Texas. We are UNT. And yall wonder why tf branding is so awful.
  23. North Texas doesn't have to be followed with an explanation? Go anywhere outside of North Texas and have a conversation with any casual. It absolutely does.
  24. And none of that matters. Branding has nothing to do with alum. We all know what UNT is or what North Texas is or what Denton or what the region of North Texas is. Branding is about outside of the geographic bubble recognition. UNT is the only route to go at this point. Again, UNT is a university located in the region of North Texas. We are UNT. Dallas, Highland Park, Grand Praire, Arlington, Fort Worth, Denton, McKinney, Krum, Decatur, Lewisville, South Dallas, Wax, Midlothian, 82 Corridor, Frisco/Plano, Grapvine, Gville, etc is North Texas. Again, we are UNT.
