  1. Those fake made up monikers are fluid. The media feeds you what they want you to eat to generate revenue for themselves.
  2. You'd think. But people clearly think that lining the pockets of 18 year olds with thousands of dollars (millions in some cases) is a good idea. People also think that this has no impact on them. People don't take into consideration the trickle this will start to dictate. Universities will start dictating more money. Conferences will start dictating bigger TV revenue. TV platforms (streaming and otherwise) will start to dictate more money from our pockets. But, whatever. A healthy correction will take place.
  3. This. Don't see anyone advocating this. Reduce commercials and keep the rules the same. Trying to shorten games, but yet add more commercials. It's lunacy. And they say it's done in the name of "player safety". I want more money and less time at work in the name of employee safety.
  4. Maybe. But, as others have pointed out, there are some winners that transfer in. Most are still losers with UNT on their future degree and a closet full of maroon or orange. If you can't buy in to who you are as a person and get behind it then you are a loser and a self loathing person. I pity the mentality.
  5. Man, ppl got sensitive about me being negative about transfer students. But, hey, from the experiences I have communicating with them they don't give a shit about UNT. Why make UNT a transfer destination? I'd rather have a university with 10k badass students than 50k losers. JMO.
  6. 1. Significantly limit transfer students. Transfers are dopes that have or care to have zero connection to UNT. Why even let them on campus? 2. Cap art/film/music applicants. No explanation needed. 3. Increase attendance at the business school. No explanation needed. And to be frank, our athletic department does a lousy job in promoting their own product. Mass emailing people in your already existing pool of fans that clearly have a vested interest in the product moves the needle none.
  7. I'm 100% in on going to catch a game. As an idea: We should create a list of games scheduled for GMG.com people and get the maniacs involved and give them as many great game day experiences as possible rather than us trickling to games sporadically and never really moving the "support" needle.
  8. SMU thinks they're going to greener pastures. If they get an invite, they will be stepping foot on ground unsettled. But, to hell with them.
  9. Who isn't? I thought our HOF was a HOF for everyone.
  10. I'll pass on normal. Thanks, though.
  11. This would be a steal as a pwo. Undersized stuuuuuuud.
  12. Yeah. But there are absolute HS studs not even getting FCS sniffs. And it has nothing to do with HS kids. Case in point: I scouted Bonham this very season. The kid in question, Jacob Gorden, is not a D1 kid. No shot, to be honest. He's long, rangy, semi-athletic, etc. But, their do-everything-stud (QB,RB,WR) Jeren Ross, not sure he even got an FCS sniff. 10 years ago, kid is FCS talent at mimimuum with probable 3-5 G5 offers. Not to mention kid is also a 100M state finalist. But to the point, HS kids have nothing to do with the creation of this. If anything, they are the victims of it.
  13. No. HS players haven't done this. Sure, former HS players (now COLLEGE players) take advantage of the horrific rules in place. But the current HS players have done nothing.
  14. Yes. When Hugh Freeze was paying prostitutes to sleep with his players/HS recruits (which he fell in love with one himself) they had a relatively good defense and they referenced themselves as this. Oh, and then the "Christian" university LU hired him. He had limited to decent success there and is back in the SEC. Can't make it up.
  15. Not sure why simps are rolling their eyes and getting mad. That's a reasonable post. You think old piss doesn't have 2-3-4-5 Gaddies? Lol sheeeeesh. Good luck to him. Hope he got the generic charger of his dreams.
  16. No, see, that's just it...winning would've gotten the crowd excited.
  17. Ok, roomie. And good bounce back game vs an underperforming and talented UAB team. GMG
  18. Lost opportunity. Students came out and we did the very UNT thing to do, laid a fat egg.
  19. Duh. Just 1 of the many, many problems with this broken system. It's not life changing money, so simply put he was sellout for a couple bucks and a new car. See ya. And again... it's not the player. It's the system. But still a sellout.
  20. Good luck to him. I believe he'll do a good job.
