  1. Not his fault he had that opportunity. That decision made by a one Eric Morris cost us that game and a bowl.
  2. Dang... 4th team? Why stop there?
  3. Yeah... for next season. Then he gone.
  4. No. Unless this option can wear a big number and play DL.
  5. Yup. Then go hire a flex coach and go get the baddest bark eating 270lb Olinemen you can find that would LOVE to come to UNT. Then go get some 5'7" 200lb 4.7 40 fearless running backs that no one would take a chance on. Let's go mash on people with a 0 dollar salary cap. Matter of fact... go hire Harding University's entire staff. Tell them to keep doing exactly what they're doing. Jared can put this together and present to the fanbase. People will love it or hate, but they'll pay attention to it. He can even call it his idea, I'll allow it.
  6. I think it might be wise for UNT to go belly up on NIL and invest whatever they can heavily into facilities. The hope here would be that sanity enters back into the game and UNT would be setup really nicely. What I know UNT can't do is try to do what everyone else is doing. That's not going to work for us or for dozens of programs like ours. Doing the status quo is just going to run fans off more than our on the field results already do.
  7. Oh no... whatever are we to do!!??!!
  8. I'm ready to live in a world where players play in empty stadiums/arenas and no one watches on TV. One would think that's the direction of all of this. Rather, for the time being, the NCAA, athletic departments, and the courts are treating fans like drug addicts in the sense of they believe they can dilute the product, overcharge for the product, change the chemistry of the product and us addicts will still come get our fix no matter what. They're missing a very huge variable to all of this: consumer based market correction.
  9. Yuuuuppp... Trying to get us coming and going. It's not sustainable. I have thought long and hard about donating a significant amount of money. I've had it queued up a few times to do so. I just stop and draw back and think... why. I have it. I wouldn't miss it.. and I could do it annually with no issue. But... "why" always flashes into my mind.
  10. You're answering your own questions.
  11. NIL will still impact UNT athletics.
  12. No idea... but given that he is an alum of ND he will look down his nose at us from the jump nor will he truly fight for the likes of UNT being on equal footing than his beloved Notre Dame. Could easily be a stuck in the mud do nothing hire that collects a check for X amount of time and moves on... should fit right in.
  13. This will be unpopular: Thank you for your contributions to UNT, but good riddance. Guy made our university easier to get into and more weird.
  14. And countless UNT alum live in and alums Dallas, the city smu claims. Do those alum frequent the smu fan boi site?
  15. Because in no way will it. 100% of money given to NIL is burnt money.
  16. Bad in game coaching + hiring and then retaining the worst statistical DC in the country = bad hire.
  17. Because the football program is currently lifeless. A what is looking to be a terrible hire is steering the ship. The football program hasn't won a conference trophy in over 20 years. We haven't won a bowl game in over a decade. Our football history is pretty poor. Our students are weirdos and our city doesn't care. It's not that fans are being negative, it's just the facts that are negative. Yet, we dump money into football as if we have it to dump and as if we're a prolific football program.
  18. Another 5-7 and he might as well just take his act elsewhere.
  19. Rest assured... if taxes are being paid then assume it's being blown.
  20. When 8-4's and 9-3's are in the playoffs, 7-5 will be spinned as "almost there."
  21. They'll normalize the losing. That's a fact. The media (fox and espn) will lead that charge. Believe in that.
  22. The NFL will never not play the game. Colleges... that's a different story. They're currently playing this dog and pony show with the players while trying to appease the courts, but it's not sustainable. Even for the elites.
