  1. How? Makes the entire process of the NIT and selection process of collegiate basketball more of a joke than it already has been. What if, 3 hours after the ncaa selection Twitter just says, "Sike, we're taking Houstons 1 from them and giving it to UT"
  2. Indeed. It's all pathetic. Extremely frustrating. Only way to shut em up and put respect on the name is to go win it.
  3. The disrspect. It knows no bounds.
  4. I think it was the Rice debacle. But, still screwed over.
  5. And you won't get a justification, because the little guys usually don't have the right people in the right place to ask those questions. Nor are we a large enough fan base to rattle the cage.
  6. The unsaid, overseen, and never said metric is TV obligations and filing those obligations during selection time.
  7. Yeah, 11, 12, 13 and 14 loss teams. It's a joke.
  8. Of course it doesn't matter. None of it does. It's bullshit in every way imaginable. And Toledo had arguably a better season and resum than us and they're on the outside looking in.
  9. I understand the idea of needing to worry about US and how to shape US to be where we want to be. But there is no way to handle it in our position outside of running the table during tourney time and, if not, hoping for the best. Then, settling for 2nd tiered tournaments. If concrete watermarks were created, we could keep our players home, too, if they knew 25/26 wins gets them to the real dance. That's instant built-in exposure and conference money rolling in. It would bolster our NIL and recruiting. Now, granted, elitst know-it-all mouthpieces like Jay Bilas would have on-set aneurysms if fair processes were actually streamlined and implemented.
  10. But it could be tweaked, to fit that narrative. Should 25-26-27 win teams really be on the outside looking in, regardless of conference affiliation? In my eyes, a 27 win team should never be sitting at home.
  11. True. But the parameters are set and widely known and there is no pulling strings behind closed doors making sure X team makes the playoffs from Y division. They either do or they don't.
  12. I disagree. Just like we don't need human judgment in the CFB playoff, we don't need it for the NCAA tourney. Human element in these instances are always going to lean to bigger brand for more eyeballs, always.
  13. And thus the man-made analytics like Kenpom and NET and whatever other BS out there sucks. It all has human data points and those data points are always going to be skewed in favor of the "bigger" conferences. There has to be concrete data points that create a true cut line. And like I said yesterday, I truly think it has to be at MINIMUM 20+ regular season wins AND .500 or better in league play. We can keep the tourney AQ for everyone. Otherwise, it's all BS
  14. No, I'm with it. Still keep the conference AQ for all. But the at-large bid has to be tagged with meaningful data, specifically for the "bigger" conferences. 20+ reg season wins and above .500 conference record. That tag can be put on everyone. We know a "mid-major" isn't getting in on that criteria, they have to exceed that in its current format. But by placing those minimum standards for all, the 27 win Toledo team that just lost the MAC final won't get left out for a 20-13 Arkansas team that went 8-10 in league play.
  15. You're onto something, thus fixing the criteria. Maybe even at-larges HAVE to have a minumum of 20 reg season wins AND be above .500 in conference.
  16. Sure, no doubt. I get it. But I feel like the criteria can be tweaked for the better. 25+ win teams shouldn't be sitting on the outside in any world.
  17. Not to have an elitist mindset, because what I'm about to say is going to come off as very smu-ish and I don't want to feel dirty. But, do these nobody conferences really need an AQ bid? Are we really, like really, really putting the best 68 teams in? I know it's a slippery slope to walk on, bc if we start taking AQ's away then we'll have the BIG10/SEC/BIG12/ACC tournament and not the NCAA tournament. I just feel there's a better way to get the best 68. Or at least the sort of best 68.
  18. It's all on Walker's back. If he drops 30+ again, of course they win. If they keep him in that high teen to low 20 range, I think FAU squeaks it out.
  19. A bit, yeah. At least she's being vocal about their joke of a basketball program, as hamstrung as she may be. Also, to a sliver of microscpopic degree, it's taking some accountability. Whether it be indirect or direct, she knows their athletic budget has been poured into football. And by most accounts, she approved these happenings and she's stepping out of the shadows to sort of swallow that pill. It shows vulnerability and a tiny amount of accountability. Nothing that we have ever received, at least not to my knowledge in the 21st century.
  20. Sure. But I'm speaking on behalf of his last 8-12 months on the job. It was almost as if looking for his new job was his job.
  21. No. Not at all. No fan base is after this kind of thing. But at least it's being internally vocalized that the current BS isn't good enough and they expect more.
  22. Nah. I'll take 26 wins. Trophies will inevitably start stackin themselves up.
