I do see it as an upset. As in knocking X team off of their elevated pedestal. And I just wanted to make that clear at 3:30AM.

Yeah, that was a terrible draw for both Mem and FAU. It was almost as if the committee assumed/knew both squads would knock off any meddling "power" conference team in the 7 to 10 lines. So, in their minds, let's lock them into an 8/9 match-up vs each other so they can at least get rid of 1.

So, by your creation of the rule, this only applies to the #1 rated conference in the country? It's created human logic and bias to our hopeful madeup rule to get rid of just that. My fake new rules: .500 or better record in leauge play. Keep AQ intact for all 32 conferences. Use a fair metric that takes the next top qualifying 36 teams remaining (.500 record or better in league play).

So average basketball teams can make their conference tourney finals in only some conferences (and we know who) and still make the NCAA tourney is really all I'm hearing.

All of your points are valid. That is not good scheduling. And they usually play a tough brand of football and seeing that we're growing our air raid coaching with the EM hire it probably won't bode well for us up there.

Killing AQ's is unjust and I shouldn't have brought that up. Killing 'big' non-champion conference AQ's is where the beef is. It's as if the selection committee has their TV producer(s) forced quota to hit and damnit they're gonna hit it. Bonus money for the committe if they go over it.

There are 30 'big' conference schools that are interchangeably set in stone as non-champion AQ's. Many of them with wins in the teens. Several double digit loss squads sitting on the 6 line or better. This is where the glaring problem lies. The neverending benefit of the doubt.

I don't know. I can't imagine they're any better than anyone in the bottom half of our conference. Then factor in we get them at home with a probable 5k+ crowd, we should win this going away (12-18 points). If we get them trapped into our style, I see a scenario where it can get uglier.

Yeah. I think if the carpet is pulled they're going to be looking out for self interests and that's OK given that circumstance if it were to happen. If Ross gets hired here to be the head man, great. If not, we will have a list to choose from. I really hope Darrin Horn is on that list.

I get it. But I can get from Fry Street to my seat inside of Apogee in less than 20 minutes. We actin like students are running a marathon and the need of transitional water tables are in need. Students who want to be there will be there. The others weren't coming anyway. What we need are vast array of business students taking claim to the campus that take pride in their University. Student section would be overflowing.

I would like to see a loose and confident team on Wednesday. If they come out with that psyche, there is no way we don't end up playing for a trip to Vegas. Getcha minds right. GMG

Not really referring to the SMU administration. I'm referring to the people of SMU. They are pretty outspoken in their boards and social media that they, "don't see the upside of playing UNT". I'm all for getting a series with TCU in both football and basketball. Why not. I would prefer a basketball series with them, as I'm not sure a football series with them would be a good look for us.

How? Makes the entire process of the NIT and selection process of collegiate basketball more of a joke than it already has been. What if, 3 hours after the ncaa selection Twitter just says, "Sike, we're taking Houstons 1 from them and giving it to UT"
