  1. Cincy pissed down their leg. In the last minute of play all of the Cincy players had this smug I can't believe we lost to Utah Valley look on their faces. Good luck in the big12, fellas. Afraid you're going to need it.
  2. I'm not going to speak on the matter. I have no idea. It was reported a family emergency or rumored a family emergency. I don't think that would be used as a smoke screen. Personal issues would've been cited rather than family emergency. And make no mistake, we need him. Sissiko was commendable, but there was clearly a lack of mid-paint presence even with his 15 rebounds. It was visible. The tio backs, constant O-rebounds, five or six times with muliple offensive rebounds for the opposition.
  3. It's not really CUSA. This is the new AAC and just about every commentator in every game that invloves these squads mention that.
  4. Not sure why you're getting eyerolls. You're completely right.
  5. This is because it's the narrative they're basically sworn to uphold AND they're dumbasses and live in the vacuum of the 'big conferences'.
  6. Yeah, nice win. And Gaines is smooth and quick. Got to body him up with physicality. As smooth and quick as he is, he looks tiny. The AAC is going to be fun. Basically the current top CUSA teams + the current AAC - UH and Cincy. That's a salty league.
  7. Well, we probably all should given he's one of us and is reeling through something.
  8. No shot. They're losing their coach and I'm sure scandalous head coaches are watching them/currently recruiting their players.
  9. Welcome to the board. I wish nothing but the absolute worst week of practice for your program that translates to a gut wrenching defeat by our beloved Mean Green. Again, welcome.
  10. I will say, this might be a first time D1 AD's easiest path to a first hire ever. And no one will hold him accountable for the hire, because most want it. Only accountable when/if the plug needs pulling.
  11. A little dated, but very informational. Look at the pocket of programs that are around us in regards to funding basketball.... I feel like we're pushing bare minimum standards into our basketball programs when we have an all-time great coach while on an all-time great run in our basketball history. We're selling ourselves short as we are content on just floating around at a mediocre budget, at best. An opportunity has presented itself to our university and we're pissin down our leg.
  12. Yes. And yes. And yes. And it's not even an opinion. It's fact. It's far more doable to snab 10 ballers on the hardwood to compete at a very high level than it is to recruit and please 40-45 (2-deep) football players. And those of you that are in the mindset that we can be great at both. Not only are you wrong (we don't have the resources), we should just stretch the budget real thin and get baseball back.
  13. I think it's the only way to maintain continuity, and maybe a way to not let our roster get illegally scalped.
  14. Driving and turning it into a 2-week ordeal with the wife and kid. Stopping by 4 corners and then Grand Canyon on the way. Goonb to Vegas from there and then to San Diego to stay a week or so after the game, hopefully gamessssss.
  15. If this happens, GM might as well not exist to me.
  16. Kendrick?
  17. I know they got close some yrs ago. But that felt like their cinderella plateau. And they couldn't capitalize. It felt like the exception rather than the rule.
  18. They most certainly did. I get it. He won't win a natty at Lubbock University in Lubbock, Texas because he will always be behind the 8ball because Lubbock. But, I get it.
  19. He might have that contract in his back pocket, very well could. But the question is, is he going to give his employer even a seat at the table? What if we decide to present him a 3M/yr contract with gurantees and promises of building him a new facility. Would that entice him to stay?
  20. I think GM looks for things in kids that we can't see or understand. And it works here, and I think this is one of the biggest risks Tech will take if GM leaves. It's a definite unknown as to how his recruiting game evolves/succeeds at a place like Tech.
  21. I agree. I felt like with Abou a lot of their glass work would've been cut down tremendously... maybe not in half, but at least a 1/3. That would negate SEVEN offensive rebounds. I think it would've been a textbook suffocating 7 or 8 point win in regulation with Abou and I'm not sure they touch 50 points. I hope all is well with him, btw.
  22. Well, we weren't favored last night. Won't be favored vs Wisconsin. And I'm not referring to a punchers chance, as in a magical game. We'd bog down those 5 or 6 I mentioned and get them into our style of play. Once we do that, which I think we would, then it's anyones ballgame.
  23. And they need to be railroaded for going after rostered players. Shit is sickening. And the nutless NCAA doesn't do shit about it.
  24. Well, FAU, a team that we had on the ropes twice this year and let them squirt away is right there in these "deep rounds" you speak of. Matter of fact, they beat a team that literally just beat your cougs. This is an elitism post and nothing more. If you don't think that UNT could go toe to toe with Princeton, FAU, Creighton, Xavier, SDSU and even Tennessee then you haven't been paying attention. And if we're shooting it well on any given night + our D, you could add 3 or 4 more from the current sweet 16 field. Teams that scare me are the ones that have true length at all 5 spots and athleticism, much like UH, but also UCONN, UCLA, Bama, and Texas.
