Abou officially enters transfer portal
NorthTexasWeLove replied to Matt from A700's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Nothing is. NCAA has fully transitioned. #NoNuts -
It is official! Ross Hodge is our next head coach!

If they can get another adequate big (assuming Abou is gone) and a slash guard, that's a really good group.

Reason #1, above all the others, RV can't be in charge of much of anything.

Officially Announced: GM the HC for TTU
NorthTexasWeLove replied to Travis's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Just, ok. -
I'm not sure he understands what forever means... .. .

Can't for any reason let Sissoko, Jones, or Scott walk out. They are the nucleus to keeping this train moving.
-
Speculation. We don't know what UNT countered to keep him.

Jelly Walker is the best player in CUSA. TP is the best pure and clutch shooter in CUSA. Both are different. Both are great.

Texas Tech is classless!
NorthTexasWeLove replied to meangreenfaninno's topic in Mean Green Basketball
I like TP. He's done great things here. I like a 6'1"+ pg that can create and facilitate better, while defending at a high level. I've said this before, TP is a SG in an undersized PG body. I wish he'd stay, but if he goes I can push that waste under the bridge pretty easily.- 28 replies

Yes, mgn would've forked up. And it's not skimping. It's neglecting altogether.

Texas Tech is classless!

This happening or not, TT does have doodoo fans/alum. But given a ton of their upbringings and geographical location I guess I get it, sort of. -

I mean c'mon. They're not actors. Given the scenario, it wasn't bad. Imagine being told to throw on a red shirt and walk into a UNLV game and play and cheer for UNLV.

He is Gone 2.0

Though true, let's lock Hodge up and worry about that after 4 more years of competitive 20+ win basketball seasons.
-
Yes. And they were spirited and into the game cheering for ole UNT. Cool to watch.

He thought about it. He is selling out for the money. Grass is greener on the other side, but have you seen the grass in Lubbock.
-
Well, it's been real. 30 wins at anywhere in the country is a fantastic season regardless of the seasons outcome. Let's hope to stuff the trophy case tonight. With that, as I've already stated, he will not coach as long in Lubbock as he has at UNT nor will he have a better win % or hold up a single piece of hardware. But, good luck out there. I will never root for a place like Texas Tech to succeed and that's unfortunate for Grant.

I'm glad they are getting a chance to go. I sat right behind the UNLV pep band that were dressed in UNT polos and noticed they had UNLV Pep Band written out on their cover to their music. I thought it was pretty shit for us not to send our own. Kudos to them though

This. His stroke is nice. Once he finds his range, as you said, he could really do damage.

Man, look at all of that historic prestige in Lubbock. Some kind of basketball graceland. I'll go on record... by the time his tenure in Lubbock is over he will have coached longer at UNT, have a better win % at UNT and win more championships at UNT (he will win 0 Lubbock). But, good luck with all that.
