  1. It is, indeed. Big fella makes the most of his minutes.
  2. Again, he is not getting 400k. That would put him in financial elite status with surefire lottery picks and 1st round NFL talent. That is not happening.
  3. I can't put myself in Tylor's shoes. I don't know Tylor or his situation. I can put myself in my shoes. A few things for me to consider... 1. What kind of team can we have with me at UNT? 2. What kind of monetary interest am I receiving? 3. Can UNT get close to the figures I'm hearing? 4. Is money > legacy? Is receiving 15-30-50k more from elsewhere greater than being a legitimate legend at UNT? Let's be real, from just us fan perspectives, is cementing himself at UNT better than 40k more in NIL money? He's not getting lifetime money, let's be honest about that. So, IOW, he's chasing peanuts.
  4. And good for him. He chose us. Elevated his entire divisional platform, will graduate from UNT and is going out on top WITH UNT.
  5. Yes, they were with us. They decided to leave us. They are no longer with us. They, themselves (college athletes in all sports), are proving more and more they're replaceable. Interchangeable pawns.
  6. They are literal pawns for UNTs advancement. Players come and go, UNT is forever. Seems pretty pawn-ish to me. And for the record, I don't wish any of them well. You're either with us or against us.
  7. If you can keep Tylor here then you keep Tylor here, period.
  8. I believe they are trying to rid cut blocking outside the box, i.e. on the perimeter down the los. TxHSfb implemented this very rule before the start of the 2021 football season. I think it will not change a ton as far as OL and their schemes.
  9. Of course I'm not OK with and you're right, it will ultimately relegate us and our peers to a farm system. Something must be done.
  10. I just don't know how those universities swimming in equal or less funnding than us have been able to get it done. It's amazing.
  11. Cross country budget is 650k... Uhh....
  12. I follow the young fella on Twitter. I'm not chasing down inside information here. It just rolled into my feed this afternoon. I got into a debate with someone on here last week and he was saying that money is not THE deciding factor. Though he was and is right, but he couldn't or wouldn't fathom that money sits at the apex of variables. TP cleared it up for us today.
  13. Wait, wait, wait a freaking second. I thought this WASN'T about money!?!?
  14. Those of us that were against NIL, pre-NIL, knew that it was a slippery slope and it would be abused the moment it came to be. The abuse is beyond the imagination of what I thought it would be. It's criminal. The idea of Name, Image and Likeness and its intent has been spun into exactly that, pay for play. It's not autograph signings and appearances, etc. as it was pitched. You know, because, "I can't even afford toothpaste because of practice". Bag men are out of jobs and involved donors a la our Rick Villarreal, are collecting money into a slush fund and distributing it as coaches dictate them to. Highest bidder wins.
  15. And it's a fantastic idea. Let me list some of the name of schools that brand themselves with full directional name... then I want you to order them in respect you personally give them... Eastern Michigan Western Michigan Central Michigan South Florida Middle North Florida Northern Arizona East Carolina Eastern Washington Northern Colorado Southern Illinois Etc Now let me name some that abbreviate... USC UCF TCU SMU SEMO WCU UIW Etc If I have a choice, put me in the latter group. And UNT just rolls off the tongue better as well.
  16. I have had conversations with others on this board about naming. Directional schools get a bad rep, just the way it is. We, as alum/fans, can call us whatever we individually like. I'm of the group that believes we need to nationally refer to ourselves as UNT in a subtle attempt to hide the fact that we are a directional school.
  17. Reads like word salad. I plan on doubling my personal income by 2026. How, you might ask? I have no idea. But THAT'S THE PLAN!
  18. For **** sake, we got people pissing on baseball and in the same breath advocating for gymnastics. GYMNASTICS! This fan base of ours is wild.
  19. Getting things perfectly right will never happen. Getting things right all simultaneously with consistency will never happen. There will be ebbs and flows to success in everything across the board for as long as sports exist, ever moreso at UNT. We are either going to attempt to make ourselves as marketable as possible when the next inevitable shift happens or we'll continue just being what we are. I love football. Love it. But, we could be a legitimate basketball and baseball power for a variety of reasons. In football, there are just so many things stacked against us. Also, in football our history of success plateaus us in Albuquerque, New Mexico with a 9-3 record playing a MWC school on a Wednesday afternoon 4 days before Christmas. As for now, and we have no other reason to believe otherwise, that's as good as it gets. Baseball and basketball presents opportunities for us. Real ones. Financially manageable ones. To me, it's a no brainer as to which direction to go.
  20. We are not UTA, and as good as DBU has been in baseball we are not them either. I am making a debate for progressing our University and you are rebuttling it with let's hold serve. And us having baseball over smu makes us the well-rounded athletic program.
  21. Sure, great question. If the powers that be wanted it to be it would be. College athletics has turned into vying for positioning. Smu has no baseball program and we don't either. A baseball team puts us in a better position.
  22. I'm in. 100%. I'm also in on this. 100%.
  23. Gotta get to 6-6 under 1st yr HC. 5-7 isn't ideal, but could still sell momentum in recruiting with that.
