  1. Then UNTD is stand alone. UNTF is not.
  2. ND isn't budging so as long as networks keep financing them to be on TV, which networks are. Stanford has been left out. No one cares about academics anymore except for the people who care about academics. It's not even about geography anymore. It's about brand/eyeballs/money. Stanford ain't it.
  3. Academics aren't a thing anymore. Prestige is an ivy/academic thing, too. It's about the money. The brand. It boils down to TV dollars. The PAC has clearly lost leverage. Pretty much all of it. It makes great sense for the Big12 to want the 4 corners. And greater sense for the 4 corners to want the Big12. It's happening. When, you rightfully should worry, no idea. It's happening. The ACC is untouchable due to their sneaky grant of rights with their members not ending until mid 2030's. 6 univeristies that are currently in the PAC will not be there in less than 5 seasons. These are presumed facts. If the MW absorbs the rest they are the de facto best G5 or P6, if you will. Just prepping you and your wonderful financial placebo university.
  4. It's pretty wideapread that the big12 wants the 4 corner schools. It's also widespread that Oregon and Wash will inevitably end up in the Big10. The PAC will have to pluck and that will be from the MW. To be honest, I'm not sure MW members will be up for that. If anything, I could see a scenario where the MW (maybe others) is doing the plucking of the PAC leftovers. What kind of power in the world of athletics does Oregon State, Wash State, Cal, Stanford wield? Answer is not much. If the 6 schools that are probably leaving, actually leave, the PAC will disband. MW will absorb those leftovers.
  5. No. But those different campuses have different school colors, mascots, NCAA affiliated sports teams. Our UNT campuses do not. They should be supporting UNT. We should be advocating that.m and pretty firmly. And bus rides up to Denton on game days is a great idea.
  6. I think you're slightly behind.
  7. I'm eager to see how Rogers performs. If he can propel his game I'm not sure what our ceiling is.
  8. Media push due to dolla billz spent on them + very, very top heavy.
  9. Sure. We are still the University of North Texas.
  10. I went to UNT. I lived in North Texas. Not vice versa.
  11. SEC, BIG10. ACC, BIG12. PAC, AAC, MW, SBC, MAC, CUSA. I would not be surprised to see the SBC surge to challenge the AAC and MW. The AAC must dictate to its universities budget dollars to maintain and continue widening the gap from the others.
  12. That's a disappointing season. Beat LaTech and steal one from Navy then I'll be very optimistic about 2024.
  13. To hide the negatve stigma of being a directional school behind an acronym. Pretty simple.
  14. Having multiple is the way to go. There is usually a chair or exec that oversees them individually. They are often the ones promoting and putting out messaging for donations. Some people are better than others at this. Having one can put the entire slush into a tumultuous state given that the singular person sucks. Example: see, I don't know, us.
  15. Baker is certainly feeling heat. He retained a football coach that many wanted gone (sound familar...Tony Benford, anyone?). He has now handled the firing of a long time HOF coach with assumptions and poor communication. But it certainly is fitting... with all the dodging and ducking he did here.
  16. I agree. Too many think it's unique. It's sort of grown into an almost always empty eyesore. Cut the tips off and square it off. When expansion ever becomes a need (it's clearly not right now) then attach the endow to grandstand and student side.
  17. It's 100% the type of student that UNT advocates to.
  18. Following recruiting nowadays is like watching a cat chase a laser pointer. A commit means nothing. A decommit means nothing. A transfer in means nothing. A transfer out means nothing. The more NIL takes a stronghold the less the individual player means something, ironically. We will have who we have on this year's roster. If it's good enough, great. Build another roster for next season that is also good enough. If it's not, change the methods and try again for next seasons roster. Names mean nothing anymore. Just, win.
  19. It needs reminding. The basketball program is on a historical 5-year run and they're still operating on a shoestring budget. I like to think it will keep going and very well will the next two, but eventually you are what your budget says you are.
  20. I'm not bitching. It's not sustainable. How could it be? When you're ready to lay down some substance, I'll be here.
  21. I would be. But everybody was thinking it too.
