  1. They 100% have seen estimated figures. 0 doubt. And I can gurantee you it's nowhere near the 30M-ish per school the Big12 deal is dishing. 0 shot. Arizona is next. Then Utah and Az St will follow suit. These aren't universities forcing their way in. These are universities taking the invitation that has been sitting out there for months. And if they don't take it, they are stupid.
  2. No. It's very predictable what they will do. These dumb, poorly educated UNT alum have been trying to educate you. You've failed to listen.
  3. Lol. Reachin Like I've said, get comfy. Yall ain't going anywhere.
  4. Yeah, this would be a really cool conference and with many of the universities included would give the AAC the push to hug up against the big12 in termw of the next tier of conferences behind the Big10 and SEC. I'm all for it.
  5. Damn boy, you polishing up this turd. This has been the plan. The dominos will fall and good luck with that new conference you're scheming up. SMUs best bet was always the big12. TCU ruined that. Have fun scheming ideas up while hoisting how many conference championship trophies?
  6. I've been commenting on the rumblings that have been happening. An smu poster on here say said it was just the rumor mill. But yeah, there will be plenty of openings poor ole little smu. Colorado is just the next domino. There are 5 others.
  7. Dang boyyyy, not sure I've seen better tuck and cross jobs by drags.
  8. And I hate to steal this very awesome idea, but yell night that ATM has is pretty awesome. Let the students come to Apogee on Friday nights and do something constructive, spirit oriented, and FUN with them. Call it Game Day Eve or "GDE". Give them a reason not to go home. Let the fraternities/soroities head it with the appropriate amount of guidance and leadership.
  9. Again, and again... we have to focus on our student type and then we have to cater university pride to them on arrival and for 4 running years.
  10. Preaching to the choir.
  11. Because fundraising has went away from the little guy, especially for places like UNT. Why waste effort and resources going after 5,000 little guys when you can go after 15 big guys. The 5,000 little guys see and understand that at UNT and choose to keep their wallets closed. Most of the people affiliated with UNT are not fanatics, rather just fans. Places like Bama, Ohio State, OU, UF, LSU, these athletic directors are getting the annual bump from their 25,000 little guys on top of their 1,000 big guy slush fund because places like that operate with actual fanatics.
  12. And losing to LaTech to go 7-5. I don't see a scenario where we beat Cal while gaining all that mojo to turn around and lose to LaTech in OOC. If we beat Cal, we beat laTech. Where do I sign up for this?
  13. As it sits, sure. As it will be in 2026/27, no. So, in short, no. The TV deal they end up getting will be comprable to the AAC or worse. We'll just end up forking more money over to fly our team(s) to Fresno, Boise, Corvallis, Pullman, etc. Not really much to gain there. I think the best case scenario is trusting in Commish Aresco, following his vision and expanding our brands within the AAC. All AAC party members must continue to invest, invest, invest. The gap is closed in on the PAC as is, IMO. We have to aim for the Big12 and snug up as close to them as possible to ensure the AAC is included in that 2nd tier after the P2.
  14. I don't think the correction of NIL will matter much. When congress gets around to making legislation, whatever the cap is set to will be to the favor of the 30-ish mega programs. And I anticipate some sort of legislation happening eventually. Just expect an egregious figure.
  15. You're not wrong, and I'm not cheering for this to happen. But we're being walked in this direction, and I think it's inevitable. None of the commissioners are mum on the topic, yet none of them are forthcoming. If you read between the lines, the fine print is clear. Ultimately, ND is the big chip sitting out there, and I think is the domino everyone is waiting for to fall. The big10 wants them bad, and that has been the hold in regards to Oregon and Wash. More people = more mouths. If the big10 can lure ND, then tack on Oregon and Wash, they're set. The ACC grant of rights is a collosal mess. They're basically untouchable until the mid 2030's. But that will be when the last splash happens. This (realingment), as it has always been, is complex. This time it will drag on with minimal pause from YoY up to the release of ACC universities. A decade+ of realignment.
  16. Because in their mind it's "better." It's not with dirty ole UNT, etc. etc. Also probably in their mind, the scenario of the PAC12 plucking whoever they want after those next 6 schools depart is the reality they are living in. SMU is looking for the P5 tag, at literally any cost. But if we follow the smart money, the TV money, it's not going to be a P5. It's going to be very, very sloppy leftovers.
  17. I hope they go. I really do. It's looking more and more like the 4 corners are going to the big12. At the very least Arizona and Colorado. It's been reported that Deion gave his greenlight for big12 membership, if that's the direction they go. Why would the Colorado administration ask for his blessing if it wasn't a real possibility? I think if UA and Colorado make the move, Utah and AZ State have to follow suit, right? Oregon and Wash to Big10 is a foregone conclusion. These assumptions have to be why no one is wanting to pull the trigger on a media rights deal with the PAC12. There is no other reasonable explanation. So, if you're a big time TV executive that is tasked with the handling of looking in the PAC12 for a TV option one must look at the future. If the future holds Oregon State, Washington State, Cal, Stanford, SDSU, and SMU as the very possible future members of the conference you would slam on the brakes too. So the question would have to be asked, who is going to backfill? I am sure the answers are given, "MW programs." The next question would have to be, well, wouldn't this very possible scenario make the MW more viable and a stronger conference? Of course PAC12 affiliates are trying to hide this at all cost and deflect this possible scenario as real life. I don't know how anyone pays for the TV rights for the PAC with this much uncertainty. So, good luck with all that smu.
  18. And you are right. And all I am saying is that, given his offer list, the OU coaches are lying to him.
  19. Sure. That's what you tell them. But coaches know, given there aren't surprises, who their guys are going to be. Of course they don't communicate that. If he goes there, I'm sure he's being viewed as a hopeful surprise/depth. Otherwise, if OU is high on this player, this kid would at least garner OSU, Kansas schools, and the inevitable late Texas Tech offer. But that's not happening given his offer list. Bottom line, we NEED him. OU could make room for him. Huge difference.
  20. It's true. And for program just like Texas Tech, it will hurt the most. A list of programs that will be like us because though they have nice coffers, but given the rules in place will not be able to sustain and truly keep up: Texas Tech, Kansas State, Iowa State, UH, the entire Pac12 minus USC, UCLA, Oregon and Washington, BC, Virginia, Wake, UCF, BYU, Cincy, Oklahoma State, TCU (will have the resources, not sure the willpower), Pitt, Georgia Tech, Louisville, NC State, Syracuse. I didn't touch the SEC or Big10 as their TV contracts are extremely lucrative. However, in the years to come, I'm not sure many of those programs will be safe. Such as: Maryland, Purdue, Northwestern, Illinois, Rutgers, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State. This will leave the power 2 with about 35 programs after adding their desirables such as Oregon, Washington, Duke, FSU, Clemson, UNC, and Miami. Then we will be staring at their end goal: NFL model in collegiate football. The remaining 95-100 programs will play college football in 6ish conferences.
  21. Maybe, maybe not. The question he has to ask himself is he a depth offer for OU or a starter offer. Is he a 3 year starter here at UNT? Is he a career depth guy at OU? I have no idea, but the OU logo is the lone logo like itself. The rest seem like peers outside of SH and UCA. Seeing that, one has to assume that he's a depth offer for OU.
  22. TTech isn't P2 money... lots of those dudes droppin 15-20M each year. TTech slightly under 4 in NIL per yr will get them in the same boat as us eventually. Be patient for we are witnessing the rich eat rich and hierarchies being legally established.
