Well, Pete Thamel is usually plugged in pretty well. This is a failure. MWC will absorb them. The MWC will come after the AAC in some form. It doesn't seem logical for them to, but they have watched their big brother conference implode due to no other geographical footprint taking interest in their product. I think the MWC took notes of that debacle and will come raid who they want out of the AAC in due time.

I have YouTubeTV with the sports package. It's all on there. Just about all of it. Conference networks, all of the ESPN's, soccer trash, NFL, MLB, NBC, ABC, CBS, etc. It's all there.

With SMU leaving I am concerned

I really hope this is a bluff or untrue news. He has to get OrSt and Wazzou. If we just let the MWC have them they are, without doubt, the premiere G5 conference. We will slide back to 2 while the Belt keeps nipping on our heels. -
ACC officially invites Cal, Stanford and SMU
NorthTexasWeLove replied to Cougar King's topic in Conference ReAlignment
I'd much rather snag Boise, SDSU, CoSt, and AF. Maybe UNLV falls into the 5th to take, perhaps. I don't believe the AAC will take that many, however. It will probably be 3, to get to 18. If Aresoco wants to get to 20, then UNLV is probably a lock. -
ACC officially invites Cal, Stanford and SMU

Can't. The AAC has to land OrSt and Wazzou first and foremost. Then, the AAC can look to add the top 2 or 3 MWC schools in 2024, for a 2025 addition. If we don't land them, MWC will. And MWC will come after 2 or 3 top AAC schools. It's imperative that the AAC gets them to join this conference. -
is awful. The games are still extending into 3+ hours of "football", but possessions and snaps have significantly been reduced. After watching several games, teams will be looking at roughly 3 possessions a half, 6-ish a game. 2 score leads going into the 4th now seem unsurmountable. Anything more than 1 turnover will now feel defeating. Chipping away at an early 21-3 deficit to come back and win will be non-existent. With all of this said, teams that can run the ball with success will now have the upper hand over up-tempo and/or fast scoring programs.

There is zero reason to play SMU. It's a lose/lose for UNT. -

This is the perfect example of students that we have to vet better during the admissions process. -

That'd be phenomenal, but unlikely. UF isn't a Cal, Tech, Indiana type program. -
This feels like the biggest home game ever
NorthTexasWeLove replied to Ross Hodgeson's topic in Mean Green Football
It's a big game. I thought the blocked fg vs LaTech that we lost was huge. Big game, at home, SEC win notched on our belt, conference implications on the line, and that game had potential 10-win season/conf champs/bowl champs kind of momentum. Of course, as we didn't know better at the time, SL was never going to win that type of game. Anyway, that loss was like watching air escape a sporadically twirling balloon. -
G5 Average Talent by League per 247

Everyone has a Mazin Roberts type player pulling their cumulative ranking down. SL didn't recruit well at the end, and he certainly didn't retain much at all. -

Sure. But the 45 to 60 "power programs" can add that asterisk as well. -
Looks like ACC about to add SMUt Cal and Stanford

Both looked very underwhelming. Unrelated topic: Attendance looked abysmal in several games, this one included.

I see the argument on both sides here. One side: This kills the incentive to purchase season or single single game tickets. It also lessens the value of the product in general. Other side: We're alum. We're donors. And we should have a certain level of commitment to the program to, at minimum, buy season tickets early.

OR St and Wazzou would add more football exposure to the AAC than it has ever received. I am confident more money will be there. You're adding millions and millions and millions of more eyeballs to the late night time slots. West coast football fans will tune in. Snatching SDSU and ________ will dictate more PST eyeballs.
