  1. Yeah, seems bitchy...I know. But F them.
  2. Apparently Aresco met with current AAC AD's and there wasn't enough support to see it through.
  3. AAC programs should boycott their games vs SMU as a show of force. Take that 2-0 forfeit loss. Let them finish the year #1 in the AAC by via forfeit. Then let #2 and #3 create a makeshift, higher seed, home conference championship game. Then let them claim their forfeited AAC championship, as I am sure they would. Why not stick it to them on their way out? I think it would be tremendous.
  4. Yeah... millions lost and other millions spent... like I said. If there was a gurantee at the end of this road then I would be agreeable. But there is no guarantee of anything. The most logical scenario is sitting there with Syracuse, BC, VA, and Wake with your dick in your hand.
  5. Of course. With what the P2 are trying to do to this sport, they'll have to create that niche for inclusitivty as a liability measure. Because of that, I'm confident it will stay.
  6. Clock doesn't stop on 1st down anymore. NFL rule.
  7. That's great and all, but they're giving up 65M + 20M exit fee in TV money to make 0 money over 9 years all the while depleting their donor resources to keep them afloat. It's a net of over 200M in losses. That donor money could've been placed elsewhere, not on operational costs. That AAC TV money would've been their budget surplus. They're kissing opportunity costs goodbye and living off of good faith, for almost a decade. Then in 2033, who knows what the ACC will look like or what that payout will be. My guess, nothing of what it currently is.
  8. Ok. Circle back to this day in 2030 when the MWC has filled the CFB playoff G5 slot 7 years running.
  9. People are. But it's probably also a coping mechanism that is ingrained into UNT fans. The ole beaten wife syndrome rearing its ugly head.
  10. 25M. Also, not sure of the bylaws from a monetary standpoint, but the simple math suggests that each remaining member institution could get a 575k bump in TV revenue with smu departing...hopefully.
  11. Their facilties, fan base, donor levels, ticket sales dwarf anything that the AAC currently has...particularly OSU.
  12. Oof. Easy, man. But yeah, 0 for 1 on the not landing the pac2. This will be a big blow as the MWC will undoubtedly be the premiere G5 conference and lock into the playoff year after year in the new 12 team format.
  13. Easy. Keeps your most watched channels sort of qued at the top of the screen. If you want to surf, one click one to live TV and scroll downward as you would with Dish. Can record and save infinite programs or related programs. I have it on auto record all televised AAC games this season in the event I miss a game that I would've liked to have watched.
  14. haha. Sure, they might afford this. But the end game, as to what they are actually trying to afford, might very well be all for not.
  15. So according to this it will be 9 seasons with 0 TV dollars. I am not sure how they succeed out of this. And at that point, there is 0% chance the ACC will be what it currently is. No shot. Not only are they giving up their TV rights to the AAC 7.5M a year for 9 years (67.5M), they will be paying the AAC 10-25M to exit and then will have to accept fractional shares of what will be a fractional dollar amount of what the current payout is, starting the 2034 season. And keep in mind, all the while draining donor resources. 82.5M estimated lost TV revenue + estimated exit fee going in starting in July of 2024. Then the 10-15 million dollars it will take to run their athletic department for 9 years. That's basically 200M dollars being flushed. All so they can play in what will be a revamped ACC with minimal big brand programs left, if any.
  16. If I had my way knowing Army is not interested I would go get Liberty, App State, and JMU right now. Get the league to 16 teams and go from there. Those are 2 very high investing programs across all sports and a program that manifests and then permeates success from within. That makes the AAC stronger with those 3.
  17. If OrSt and Wazzou join the MWC and they come to Denton and show interest in us, it would be in our best interest to accept their invitation.
  18. Money can buy players. And players play the game. So, money can buy wins. smu knows it can. They have a long history of doing it.
  19. smu is no athletic juggernaut. But they are more athletic than us. Also, UNT players piss down their legs A LOT in this particular game. It's undefinable how or why some of our players play the way they do, specifically in this game.
  20. I am not sure who we would consider shedding, unless we want to look in the mirror. We have no right as a university or alum base to throw rocks as we are certainly standing in a glass house. Army App St JMU Liberty We should add any of the 4, in that order. If we want to get to an even number, then 18 is the number. I would say for a fifth member added, I am not sure who that would be given MWC is off the table now. Maybe give Coastal a look? Either way, we should certainly take interest in wanting to weaken the Belt while strengthening the AAC.
  21. Which is never. They pay players. They probably always have. They are better than us on the football field. Always have been, always will be. Playing them reminds me of the old adage of, 'It's better to let someone think you are a fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt'. We can let them think they are better and pound their chests, but we have decided over the last decade to home/home them and remove all doubt.
  22. Tulane has a good academic endowment, but I'm not sure Tulane has the donor base or involvement of smu.
  23. Yeah, it was. It just speeds the game up to that point. Odds are The Drive opportunity doesn't actually happen, the game ends before that. Teams no longer have to sit on the ball to milk the clock. And it's difficult to just sit on the ball to get the playclock under 10 or 5 every snap to play conventional football. It's unnatural and teams will often mid-game forego that plan to play the game. Now teams can play that style and it not look like they're playing that style. Huddle-break-get to LOS under 10-hike under 5. And a 10 play drive can take 10 game minutes without it looking unorthodox and obvious.
  24. They don't move the needle that much in regards to national branding and eyeballs. But what they do is still garner "P5" respect in the Pacific Northwest and that allows them to recruit to that respectability. They will still recruit decently well and will be an instant infusion of competitiveness in the MWC (hopefully still AAC).
  25. Maybe 6 meaningful chances for points per game. I don't know. I read some SI article, and they were bringing up points about it all. I'll try to re-find and post url.
