Inexperienced? Look at our LB coach. What experience? I posted about how bad our LBs are in a little defensive film study last week and a poster pointed out that our LB cosch didn't have any experience. It shows. It showed last week. It showed tonight. Pitiful, really. Caponi and whoever that guy is, and I'm trying not to knee jerk here, both need to go.

He's definitely laughing now. Maybe not after last week, but is now. How could he not be? -

Defense is stunningly awful. You HAVE to scrap the 335. You HAVE to get in a 4-man front. We are in a really, really bad situation. -
***OFFICIAL UNT VS FIU In-Game Discussion***

Their RBs are currently averaging 8.8 yards per carry. That's all there is to say. I beat the drum enough last week on the issues. I'll add more later..disgusted. I'm trying to stay off this during games. -

Pretty neat

100%. I am grateful for his contributions to our basketball program. I think it was done the right way with a very solid foundation. If he was handcuffed to Benford upon taking the job, then he should have said some things without saying specific things to alleviate him of that awful decision, which very well could've been the case. He's sort of bent us over in footnall. Getting fleeced in contract negotiations, 2x. Getting trapped with those decisions of his. Looking for jobs when things went south which ultimately voided him of any serious decision making, firing or hiring. Then of course the gameday experience suffered, visibly. Also, as sort of pointed out, ADs are responsible for major donations. Shoot, some ADs get hired at big boy schools specifically for their fundraising accumen. Granted I don't pay close attention to donor levels or amounts, but nothing big comes to mind that WB did in this very important aspect..

UNT did great things with the basketball program while WB was here. Tip of the hat to him for that, seriously. But it took 18 months to get get it started. Football staled, quickly. He started fishing for jobs 12-15 months out and the on and off the field product started to show signs of malpractice. He then bolted and left tons of unfinished business in his path. And he is completely aware of this.

Dickey was fired because he hurt RV's feelings.

USF knows they will eventually be in some version of the ACC when that conference gets PAC12'ed. They are putting plans in place to be competitive from a facility standpoint whenever it happens. To your point about the AD, we don't hold that position accountable here at UNT. Countless people on here didn't want RV gone. Countless people thought WB did a marvelous job and wasn't putting his head in the sand, which he clearly was. The verdict is still out on JM, though we all know the whole thing about history and repeating.

I largely agree with what you're saying. However, our NIT semi-final game has 886k viewers (an increase from last year's semis). The NIT Championship Game had 370k viewers (a significant decrease from last year's). 1.256M viwers on our basketball product and our university as we excelled. So, some people cared and clearly tuned in. We would only have to play 15 football games on ESPNU vs a P5 opponent to reach our 2 NIT basketball final 4 viewership. And I get it, we were the only product on or close to the only product on and our vs Cal game we were up agaist ESPN and FOX. But, viewership is viewership.

Ok, John.

No. It's fake news... whatever your hidden name is...Let's go with Tom.

You beat that drum a lot. That is bullshit. But for the sake of entertaining your stupid argument... People only pull the fire alarm when there's a fire. People only call 911 when there's a crime.

I messaged @Harry about this several months back. This isn't really a call out, moreso a finger on the pulse of the board question. Would people be more willing to give and/or give more if people knew what the totals are tallying to be directly from GMG, amounts being given individually (anonymous individual amounts), and what the money is being generally used for?

I personally view UNT football like my golf game. It's very mediocre and sometimes really bad, but at those rare and random moments it becomes pretty respectable, and it keeps me drawn in to keep playing. As for UNT, people are rightfully starting to become extremely aggravated that the respectability is so rare. And it's not just this year, or 3 years ago, it's been this way for decades. This place is not for the faint of heart.

Yeah, run off one of our 11 fans. That's great.

Beat me to it, and thank you. Also, they do claim to have great attendance. It's at the bottom of their boxscore. It's a lie, but they claim it.

Go undefeated in conference play for 3 or 4 years in a row and I'm not sure I would or could critique. Would September suck, oh yeah. Would the trophy case blind me from seeing September. Probably so.

If you think winning doesn’t matter…

This is also so true. We know we're trapped in quicksand with a thimble to scoop it out with. What's the point in even scooping? -
Look at all the matchups above us. Lol. Wow. We are pathetic. Again, basketball.

It's both. Not only are we trying to square peg this round hole... the whole puzzle is a poor puzzle.

Sure. But you know they were having our boundary corner as the walk up 9 tech for almost the entire 1st Q. He's 5'8" 175lbs. Like... Spavital was so dumb to drop back and throw it once. Watching it live I was just asking myself, "My laws, what are we doing." Watching more, I was just in disbelief. Just because a body is in position, doesn't make it the right body. Just because a safety is havig plays funneled into his lap doesn't mean he will be able to stalk, track ans tackle from.10-15 yards away in open field over and over. That's a very difficult ask.

Oh... you ALWAYS see from coaches when a kid commits, particularly a "surprising" commit, "UNT got a good one." It's literally an unintentional insult.
