Precisely. That's why I have been an advocate of making an internal decision as a program and university to move in that direction for our football program.

I can't speak for everyone or for anyone. But we are trying to stack success... 20+ win seasons, reg season 🏆, conference tournament 🏆, NCAA tournament appearances, etc. We are trying to give our alum a reason to be proud of their university while shining a positive light on our university. If that one day leads to a deep run and a natty I would be elated, but I'm also realistic. So, given that, we can recruit junk yard dawgs, play like snails, slap the floor and rely on defense. It's a frustrating product to defend and it's a winning formula for us.

Ignore them. All of them.
-
Hence the desperate need to vacate the hollow chambers of our current facility.
-
Meh. As it goes.

I'm not mad at them for this L. When Seton Hall plays well they're a top 16 seed in the tournament. We experienced Seton Hall playing well. Good year riddled with injuries. Onto year 2. GMG

Which makes it that much funnier... He left a NIT Championship team and went to a squad you know were all bumpin gums about winning a natty just to get bounced in the first round of the tournament in which he won last year. It's just funny. While he's romanticiszing a round orange ball on X, we're still playing.

It's not him. It's the system. So, when an opportunity rises to laugh or mock the system I am going to. Perry here is simply collateral damage.

2024 March Madness Thread

Listening to the SDSU beatwriter talk about their game vs UAB, he opened up his remarks with, "SDSU played UAB, a team from a much weaker conference than the MWC, the AAC." -
Dusty May lost them this game. In a foul situation he chooses to keep Vlad in the game and he shoots 60something percent from the line. Of course they ball deny everyone but him and he goes and clunks 2 off the rim that would've sealed it up. Really bad situational coaching.

The NBA on tnt crew were talking about this after the game and his they can't let fouls be reviewed. However, Kenny Smith threw out the idea of giving coaches 1 challenge at the 2 minute mark of the 2nd half where anything can be challenged and reviewed. I like that idea a lot. -

Conspiracy is brewing... Did cigar and cognac parties with executives pull strings to make sure that last years final 4 didn't happen again? Which, I believe, was the lowest rated final4 ever per Nielsen. I mean, this is a billion dollar tournament. Are we going to act like that type of stuff doesn't happen? Free throw attempts for the 3 MWC teams that have played = 18 total (6 each for the 3 teams). While their opponents had 48. *It's also worth adding that most of the MWC teams were seeded poorly. And that's widely agreed upon. -
Oh.. thank you Grant for your time spent at UNT. But..
-
It's remarkable. Imagine us winning 20 games and firing our coach. That doesn't even fall into the realm of having or raising expectations. It's difficult to win 20 games regardless of your conference. Now, they'll be playing tougher comp next year and the new coach will know 20 is the barometer. A lot of looking over the shoulder. Good luck, buddy.
-
That's pretty big
-
Unlikely. Their boosters won't take kindly to hiring a 1st year D1 coach with 14 losses. I'm not worried. And I'm pretty sure smug tried to do the same to Grant and he waited for a better gig. I anticipate, even if this unlikely scenario were to happen, Ross to do the same.
-
Meh. 1 has starter minutes. Another has reserve minutes. The other 2 don't play. The rest of their team (contributors)... 6'6", 6'6", 6'2", 6'4". We'll be aight if we play our game and keep playing great gap help defense.

Ross Hodge Appreciation Thread
NorthTexasWeLove replied to Ross Hodgeson's topic in Mean Green Basketball
We are not outgrowing anything. Marquee games would simply dictate more ticket money, sellouts, and great atmospheres. Good games would still draw a very good crowd with an actual good atmosphere. And poorly attended games (1/3 or more of our home games) wouldn't sound, feel or look like an echo chamber. I can count on 2 hands (maybe 1) how many times the draw has surpassed 7k in the last decade+. -
Let's get by Seton Hall first.

He hasn't been clutch. And that's not to say he can't, but he hasn't. He's like a well oiled offense between the 20s.
