  1. How is this taking advantage of the redshirt rule? They need to get booted from the team...Anything outside of a parking/speeding ticket should warrant a boot from the team, any team. Too much of this shit has been allowed to manifest itself in the fabric of collegiate sports as if it's just a part of it and if it's not murder or basically taped rape, 9/10 they get a pass. I call BS.
  2. Much like the defense, skeptical until I see something else to allow me to believe otherwise.
  3. The AD came out with a statement the following day trying to save face in recruiting stating that Fedora didn't articulate his words right and he cares about the well being of players yada yada yada...
  4. Let's not get carried away.
  5. 100% accurate statement. He's vital to the running game and a nice and proven security blanket that has the proven potential of always popping one down the seams from time to time. He is also one of my favorite on the team. I always root for this guy to touch the ball. When he does, good things happen.
  6. FAU is building a program, make no mistake. They are investing into their coaches and now more into their facilities. They are building their brand, just like we are building our brand. Just because Kiffin goes after guys that are a little more chancy than we do, doesn't mean he's not building a program. Remember, there are 85 scholarship players allowed. Do you think Kiffin has 85 past, present, or future felons or a bunch of class A misdemeanors? I doubt it. To boot, since he has arrived, has that program had any real negative off the field publicity outside of the recruits he chooses to bring in? I haven't heard a peep. And if there has been some, they've been quite peeps. Vito needs to go ahead and exit stage left. Dude drags this program down moreso than he brings positive publicity to it. I get it, he's a beat writer and not a paid athletic department employee and reporting the news is reporting the news. But he doesn't report the news. He brings in 6 month-1 year-and sometimes 2 or 3 year old stuff into his present articles as if he's twisting a knife purposefully. It's as if he does it with an almost egregious demeanor. If I didn't know any better, and I may not, it's as if he has some sort of vendetta with the program/sitting coach to the point of not being able to control his own narcissism in his writing.
  7. I read the article, but I didn't see that. He either edited it, or I skimmed over it.
  8. If I remember right, we went heavy on DB's last class (5-6) and 2 or 3 of them were versatile players that could step back and play S or walk up and play CB if needed. Don't get me wrong, we need snag a couple more but let's make them count. As for DL...We need to smother the remaining schollies with DL. 5 or 6 interior DL would be ideal, with at least 4 of those spots from the HS ranks. I love the direction the class is going. I like Harry's idea of sitting back and seeing what happens with some of them. But the DL needs to be combed through and recruited hard.
  9. It's not throwing them under the bus, it's just bringing their guidelines up to public universities. They can keep their christian stamp labeled on their university, but they have to operate with the same transparency as public universities when it involves athletics. But not Baylor, they should be dead.
  10. I don't think what he was saying was a sleight at Christians. What he is saying has merit to it. If they want to be at this level, they should operate on the same basis as everyone else.
  11. Not sure what military they will be serving in, but it most certainly wasn't the same one I did. You get into the 100K range once you attain Lt. Col (05) at the 20 year served mark. Now, there are incentives pending job status, but those incentives are boosted for very specific roles such as doctors and certain types of aircraft pilots. A generic supply/intel/transportation/ordinance/infantry etc. officer, like many of these cats become, won't flirt with 100K unless/until they advance up the ranks AND serve years of time. And, again, it takes sometimes easily a decade to get to 0-3, Captain. And a captain in the military caps out at 80K after 14 years served and never changes up to and through 40 years in that same rate. There is nothing wrong with going the academy route, but let's not push false information into naive ears. Maybe, juuuuust maybe, he Mr. Irons chose this route because he wants to serve country and not self? And not chase the imaginary money you're referring to?
  12. I would definitely trade out a loss to utsa for a 10-2 regular season. That just about solidifies another west div champ as well as the rights to host the CUSA champ game. And, of course, the match up vs Minnesota in the HoD. Sign me up.
  13. I would be giddy if we landed Irons. That would be big. He is a legitimate impact player that would be here for probably 5 years.
  14. While what you are saying is completely true, we still have the 2nd highest average composite which is the trajectory we want to be on. Also, a little side note, we played the 2017 season with 14 three stars on the entire roster. Without the incoming class and the current class (2019), we are down to 8 three stars on the roster as it sits. This recruiting class, per ratings, has more talent in it as it currently stands than the entire UNT roster combined as it currently stands. That is staggering in both directions...How poorly Dan McCarney left the roster and how great this 2019 is shaping up to be.
  15. @AustinFromUNT put together a pretty good list on another thread like 20 minutes after I posted this thread. Not sure if he knows who we are legitimately in on or not, but it seems thorough.
  16. Cerebus, that wasn't a slight at Littrell and Co., but the lack of success as a whole in regards to NFL draft production. So, uh, simmer down turbo. And this is Ben, but I am not Kevin Durant'ing. I had to create another account.
  17. I wanted to reach out to @TheReal_jayD @GMG24 to see if we could get a thread of guys we are in on with links to the rating systems as well as up to date offer lists. I know individual offer threads get created, but I think it would be helpful for you guys to hone in on guys we are legitimately in on with information attached under one thread. I'll hang up and listen.
  18. Improving implies we are actively doing something. I would like to see it happen in general. We are flirting with 2 decades of ineptitude as far as the NFL draft is concerned.
