Final Thoughts on UA Game from PokeyPig
NorthTexasWeLove replied to PokeyPig's topic in Mean Green Football
They were using bad and laxidasical punt coverage as witnessed on tape according to our ST coordinator. He saw what was a glaring flaw and exposed it. Anything else is babble and butt hurtness. I was sitting next to some vocal and drunk Ark fans and was screaming a fair catch was signaled and then the replay...and then silence. -

I'm assuming you're talking about trenches depth and if so, we have it. Your starting RB went 9 car for 12 yds for a long of 7. So he went 8 car for 5 yds. Total run game went 32 for 126. Popped a 68 yarder on our 3's with less than a minute to go. Take that garbage run away, the run game went 31 car for 58 yds at 1.8 yds per. Chad Morris even stated in his post game presser that they wanted to come out in 12 personnel and push us around but they couldn't get snything going. It takes DL depth to put up these kind of defensive statistics. It doesn't nust happen because of 1 or 2 'studs'. My concern is still the D and what they can do vs a balanced well executed offense. And we are not top 15-20. Not in my opinion. We are right where we need to be, just on the outside looking in. We need to keep proving we can put people away and leave no doubt. -

Yes, it's happened all 3 games. Not saying they shouldn't be playing because they should be. 46-0 and 44-10 just sounds better on paper. Because those are the reality for people paying attention. -

It's your tongue in cheek approach. "Yeah, you guys are good. But we are worse than your good and that's what really unfolded Saturday." It's like ending a relationship with the old cliche of, 'It's not you, it's me.' -

And we could have. I wish we would have. Letting them pop one on our 3rd stringers with 45 secs to go was annoying as well. -

How bad you guys have had it? Are you serious. And when you drive by the stadium on Saturday's to peak into our empty stadium, the people on this very board were in there. We are the diehards. Alum are starting to take notice and conveniently get on board, of which they are more than welcome to. But to roast a fan board for a program like ours has been until very recently is foolish. A big portion of us on here have sat in absolute empty sections of our stadium for the entire game during a blowout loss, more than several occasions. And this UNT team, this one, would honestly beat 1/3 to maybe 1/2 of the mighty SEC if it went 50/50 home and away. So save the 'we really suck' talk. Sounds chintzy. But enjoy the game you choose to come to. -
Had it not been for the return, this game would've been buried. Not only because the media would try to hide it ASAP, but there were 4 or 5 other 'G5' take it to 'P5' on Saturday. The return put the game front and center. Can't really bury something like that.

I mean...maybe? But what does that really mean?

Yeah, he has serious speed. But I think we are overlooking the play that set the tone. The play that hushed up Arkansas fans early on...Easly using the truck stick in the 1st quarter of the game letting Ark players and fans alike know that we are not just here to compete, but to win the game.

This line should be looked at as disrespect. Fine will get back close to 4 bills. Who knew we would be sort of in a weird way disappointed at 281 passing yards and 24 completions.

Arkansas fans call for intentional targeting

Yeah, some hog fans did come right over and apologized for her actions. But not fretting at all. Is what it is -

Yes. The dropped balls were killing me. -
Can we talk about officiating?
NorthTexasWeLove replied to JesseMartin's topic in Mean Green Football
Holding call on that td pass was ghost. 1 pass interference was ghost. That trapped pick was trapped. So, a bad call in our favor. Other than that, fairly called game. -
Lol

I sat in the east endzone mirrored suites. I was mean mugged from the instant I walked in by a lot of their fans. Was screamed at by probably a 70 year old lady that was sitting 5 rows below me and about 20 seats over, "You need to get out of here! You don't belong here!" A couple congratualtory remarks on the way out. But they were said in jest, as in 'good win, we're so bad this year.' -
Tejas! About to depart friendly lines in 20 mikes. ETA to enemy territory, 10:30.

A Positive Message For Our Team
NorthTexasWeLove replied to South Texas Green's topic in Mean Green Football
Don't let the moment be too big. D - set your hair on fire. O - play smart. Beat the hog piss out of them. -
Pop 2 or 3 on them for 20+ early and that should pull them in.
-
Don't stop the run, only minimize it. We win. I would love to see Morris play pass aggressively and gash them for 4 or 5 big runs. At that point, the passing game could start slingin.

I know how. Because we're better.

ODU/Charlotte Play Today (Thursday 9/13)
NorthTexasWeLove replied to Cerebus's topic in Mean Green Football
Who? -
Yeah, the Liberty bowl vs 6-6 Kentucky. Our plateau of plateaus is to go vs a middling 'P5' program in the Liberty bowl. Becuase they aren't putting a 13-0 CUSA champ above a 1 loss Boise or UCF unless we bend Arkansas over this Saturday and win the rest with relative ease. I'm not moaning and notching about anything UNT related, just so we're clear. It's the system I have a problem with. The system that is blatantly stacked in favor of about 20 programs.
-
Sone highlight type exposure at most. SEC network will briefly hit on the game and then move along. Sat night I was watching a game on SECN and had no idea Arky had lost until a friend of mine texted me. They will name the score and then bury it. We could go undefeated this year and end up playing Wyoming in the New Mexico bowl. We could go 8-4 and end up playing Wyoming in the New Mexico bowl. That's a systematic problem that needs serious addressing.

Yrah, and Boise's exposure has set them apart. We are sort of starting to see the same thing at UCF. Which is great, good for them. But...the Toledo's, SDSU'S, NIU in their multi year heyday, Marshall, LaTech, Fresno, even USF and UH, MTSU, etc. etc. all have pretty strong programs either currently or recently. But they get just about 0 exposure. Unless you're skulling your conference and making it to the NY6 bowl, you're irrelevant and get no exposure. And until people in the right places push the envelope it will never change. And I'm with plum, set a year to go Indy to give us time to build a respectable schedule for 3 or 4 running years and bolt. The peanuts being thrown to CUSA is not worth the fact that we are solidifying ourselves in irrelevance. Be bold.
