  1. 3 Demeco Roland type DTs. Or 2 and a JUCO. 6'1"+ 280 coming out of HS that isn't a developmental project via measurables. We can't ask every kid coming in at 240/250 to put on 60/70 pounds and expect it to happen.
  2. Accurate by all accounts. I've been to every stadium you pointed out except for the F_Us, just not all for games. I like to go to campuses if I happen to be in the area. So Miss stadium is much better than 9. MTSU stadium is hideous from the outside. Legion and Rice stadiums are both dilapidated. UTEPs stadium is nice-ish with a nice bsckdrop. You can literally see a Mexican slumyard from their main parking lot. LaTechs stadium and Apogee shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath. To note, their stadiim is a dug in stadium and the disformation of the stadium just runs along the outlay of the hole it sits in. I was in Bowling Green in April and I do like their stadium. It looks great from the outside and sits right in the middle of their campus as a focal point. Charlotte's is nice too, just very small as you stated.
  3. Well, no shit. We'll disagree on this based on you protecting this problem and me pointing it out. And you know good and damn well no one is asking for 320lb 4-stars.
  4. This is not the position to be doing this with. Especiallly with consistency. You take flyers on guys and hope you can bulk them and develop them. You can't have a position group full of flyers.
  5. I think we need to differentiate the DL as DE & DT. We have 0 DT's. We had 0 DT's last class. We need 3 DT's that are capable and ideally touted by other programs to commit into this class. I would fill the remaining slots with: DT: 3 WR: 2 OR WR:1 TE:1 LB: 2 DE: 1 DB: 2 ATH: 2 (TE/DE/WR/S;Nickel) There is wiggle room here. This is the Gary Patterson approach. Get the best players you can get and plug and play. It's a philosophy I can't argue with.
  6. Step 1: Go an undefeated 13-0. Step 2: Have ridiculous stats; 4500 yards passing. 40 TDs, under 10 picks Step 3: There not be a clear cut Heisman favorite so it waters down the field and allows a sleeper to get even recognition. Unfortunately, even if steps 1 & 2 happen (which would be awesome), there is a clear cut favorite for Heisman in 1A. Lawrence and 1B. Tua. The national media are going to stroke their ego and just gaga over any kind of "Heisman moment" so they can flash the highlights and have talking heads drooling over their perfection. We like to think voters vote for the Heisman, but ESPN steers their voting tendencies all season long. It should be called, "The ESPN Hype Trophy presented by whoever writes us the biggest check".
  7. I think that our tailgating scene for big games is 2nd to none in CUSA. Granted I have never been to a Marshall game, but I have been to Southern Miss, LA Tech, and SMU and their tailgating does not or at least didn't compare for when I was there. I have been to games at Apogee where tailgating has been awful too. So it just depends on opponent and weather (rain). A decent opponent paired with decent weather, Apogees tailgating scene far exceeded SoMiss, LaTech and SMU. To note, I think aesthetically, our tailgate scene is not good for the average non-UNT fan coming to a game. They probably park over at Fouts parking where tailgating is minimal in most cases. So, they pull up in anticipation and see scattered tents in that lot and the lasting impression is always the first impression.
  8. dOn'T yOu KnOw WhAt RiCk DiD fOr ThIs PrOgRaMmmmmmmmmm
  9. Some fruit basket rolled their eyes at this. Nice.
  10. No, I get the point. I wasn't necessarily referring to you though.
  11. Because some of our beaten fans can't accept these results without a caveat.
  12. The best class UNT has ever signed was last years class, 2019. .8282 is the best overall player average. The current class of 2020 is higher at .8289 as of right now. As mentioned above, Riley and Jamario are the two highest rated signed players. Landing a high school 4 star, especially in a good class, would be a landmark and tide turning kind of event for UNT. Needs to happen. Boise is landing 3-4 a year. UH gets 1 here and there as does a few other schools.
  13. Indeed, it is. Welcome to the site btw.
  14. This and this. We're gonna be playing DE's at NT in 2021 at this rate or a DT that should be playing at the FCS level. Gotta shore it up.
  15. That's unfortunate. I don't think canvas emails gets the juices flowing for these kind of events. Not to be a troll, but maybe we should start trolling to boost attendance on this kind of stuff. Such as, holding the event on SMU's boulevard, or San Antonio's Riverwalk, or Louisiana Tech's, ummm, nevermind. Fort Worth's Sun Dance Square? I don't know, but holding this event too far away from UNT without a recognizable reason to attend is not going to pull quality results.
  16. Yup. Sure, Colorado is beautiful. But, that means nothing. He's not a 42 year old liberal-arts photographer. He's a football player that I am assuming is trying to make the best decision to get him to the "next level". Well, is Colorado that best choice? No. That's the short answer. The long answer is that there are about 5 schools on his offer list that would afford him a better opportunity for his future. And nice views aren't going to pay his future bills
  17. He is now rated. .83 - 3 star. Since UNT offering in January, he has been offered by Tulane, Tulsa, Texas State, Colorado State, and Hawaii. Before us, he was offered by both SoMiss and Iowa State. Not sure where @UNTLifer picked up his measurables, but according to 247 he is now 6'3" 243lb. We need this guy. Quality player from a school of tradition with good offers from around the country.
  18. Need this guy. Since our offer, NSMU, Northwester State, and ULM have all offered. And still has the Lousiville offer from 8/2018. I have no idea if that's still an honored offer. Still sits at a .8316, three star.
  19. I don't mean to throw rocks in a glass house here, but does he know what KU Football is about? I suppose this might be a question for @GMG24 since you may or may not still be in that ISD. I am not sure what this kid is looking for....Being away from home? Certain academic criteria? Campus lifestyle? NFL odds? I have no idea. But what I can tell him is that he is without doubt committed to a program that is 4 years away from being even relatively close to relevance. And that's if the grass eating lunatic over there can get things actually turned around, which is no guarantee. He has no idea who will be throwing the ball to him or even if the QB there will be worth a damn. Also, KU has 1 current former player of theirs on an NFL roster right now as it sits. One. Also, it's in Kansas. Has Keith ever been to Kansas? I have. Several times for work, and it's miserable. I've been all over the state, in every corner. It sucks, truly sucks. So, again, not sure what's attracting him to that place, but I can assure him that UNT is a place where a guy with his skill level will thrive and will be noticed. And he will be relatively close to home with a great academic foundation. I was skimming the offer lists and saw this name, then saw Colony, then saw KU commit. I had to find the thread and make a post. He could be a difference maker here.
  20. Yeah, so we have 0 DT commits since the 2018 class. That is a burden that will haunt this team in the future if it's not addressed this class. 1 JUCO DT and 2 HS DT would be ideal.
  21. He's surely 17 by now. But my video was posted in a joking manner. But, he does need to start consider weight gain if he's coming on as an OT. And it's better to gradually put it on to keep athleticism then to throw it on quickly looking like a bag of pudding.
  22. We have 4 OL commits. I think Williams might be a blue/greyshirt option for he has not been added to the committed class to this point. Of the 4 OL commits we do have, the average height and weight is 6'2.5" 275lbs. Considering these are all high school commits, this is pretty dang good. You are looking at 4 OL that could easily reach 300+ lbs by their sophomore year when they will be called on. Concerning part of it, we have 1 DL commit, a DE. We have to get legitimate and productive DT for this D. 3-3-5 dictates a bonafide NT. We didn't really sign one last class. I think Democo Roland of Broken Bow commited but may have not signed due to whatever reason (academic maybe?). Or he did sign and I'm incompetent at looking up basic information. Nevertheless, if he did or didn't, we are looking at 0 DT's for the 2020 and 2019 classes as it sits. That is a colossal problem. The pro SL people will in SL we trust all day, but this is an issue. A big one. We need 2-3 THIS class. We have 0.
  23. Then he better start broteining...
  24. Who actually listens to salt and peppered pony tailed dirty looking professors who wear the same sport coat every day as a theme of life guidance? If you do, well, you'll grow up...eventually.
