He said EITHER Gas or First Responder bowl. I am assuming either in reference from the New Mexico Bowl. Which is fine. Gasparilla Bowl is a good destination for an east coast team. But his wording for the First Responder Bowl doesn't clear anything up, just merks it up a little bit.

So is he telling us there was an actual choice here? A choice for the FR Bowl? Hard to really pull that out of that as concrete, but it sounds sort of like that.

Sure, they may not have wanted us. But if the bowl game is a CUSA tie in and there is no CUSA team who cares what they want. It's called getting nosed up and told to sit down.

Oh I really don't care either. But I am sure some people would. Especially if they're a casual fan of college football and see a raucous UNT fan base going wild in the stands in Dallas vs Boise. The person flipping channels might stop there and say to themselves damn UNT got it going. Or they'll flip on UNT in New Mexico and be like what the hell, and keep flipping channels. Or, I'm just venting that I don't want to drive to New Mexico. Or, all 3.

People are bitching like last year because it's a very similar situation. A bowl game 8/9 hours away vs a no name opponent that is better than us. It's easy to take a 3 TD pounding from Minnesota or FSU or even Boise. It's a tough pill to swallow when you're getting thumped (hopefully not) 2 years in a row by teams most people don't even know where their geographical location.

So in other words, ESPN cares more about eye balls TV's, regardless if it's a dead ass atmosphere at all of these games? Wouldn't it take away from the intrigue to watch the game if the stands are fanless?

First Responders. Or Frisco. Pretty sure Frisco is a AAC tie in and neither team is a AAC member. If we're going to play an arbitrary opponent, which we are, let's get one where the fans can travel to in droves.

Well, to some extent I do agree with you. But AD's do have some sort of say to their conference commish. They don't just throw the names up against a wall and whoever sticks wherever is where they're sending teams. There is an extreme amount of elbow rubbing and dirty handshakes to maneuver yourself where you want to be, specifically for the more premiere bowls. It happens here too, just less dirty and political.

Can I at least be in a luggage carrier?

I would say $1200 is being frugal for two people.

There isn't a flight for $400. Does WB have super secret person booking his flight for him? Personally, I am seeing 0 direct flights. The cheapest is a two stop flight for $580. A 1 stop flight will run you around $630.

Just goes to show, 7-5, 8-4, 9-3, 10-2, and unless we're the highest ranked 11-1/12-0 none of it matters. We are destined to this. Eager to see where Frenso and Boise goes as 10 and 11 win teams not getting the NY Bowl nod. Utah St got to 10 in the reg season and is going to ABQ. It's just mind blowing.

Very unlikely. There would still be 45 or 50 former "P5" universities that would be upset and would make it a political point of that not happening.

I mean we have, but the reasonings were steered in different directions. Doing it this way would be far and away different than what and why for UNT has done in the past.

That's definitely a risk worth taking. Most G5's can hardly afford it as it is, and will certainly in the near future not be able to in the near future. If we can rip the amateur status out from under the P5 or at least 25 or 30 of them and make them go away and be what they are, semi pro's, then do it. The remaining 100 of us will maintain and that would setup grounds for huge realignment.
