  1. All true. A split of our OOC schedule is likely. 3-1 would be great. 4-0 we'd be cooking with some grease. 1-3 would be disappointing. All 4 scenarios are possible. The SL era has been a rollercoaster ride for sure.
  2. Maybe he takes his role to the sideline? Most OC's do it from the booth, some like the view from the sideline with defensive placement in his ear from the booth. I don't know. It's working good for the pro GH people, I get it. But it could be working great. Change it up. Find the problem and apply a solution to it.
  3. I mean you have to deviate from the game plan. Football is chess, but your board is 100 yards and your pieces are human. The script they put together is more times than not really, really good. They come out with energy and they execute said script. But then the scroll runs dry and GH is left up there just sort of spitballing and sometimes it's ugly.
  4. There are some HC that call their own plays and they make it known. Why don't we go that route and take the OC's normal salary and spread it over a couple 'offensive analysts' that SL trusts to be eyeballs in the booth. Give SL the rest of that green. Be done with it.
  5. It's a difficult job to be had in this score points to win era, for sure. But the proof is in this bowl of pudding. We lose games because we fizzle out, offensively. We fizzle out so bad that we go three and out or 6 and out for entire 2nd halves and lose games because of it. SL and GH scheme up the first 15-20 plays like all good teams do. But then, sometimes, it's just like wtf are we doing. The fire in the offense isn't there and we seem to be content to settle. In this day and age of points, you put your foot on your preys throat and don't move it until winning is no longer in doubt. Go fast, don't apologize, and offer them a cigarette after you're done.
  6. I think you are in the majority here. Think about this, we beat 0 bowl teams. 0. Nada. We beat 9 non-bowl teams. Our schedule was horrific. This offense should be dropping 50, easily.
  7. With all of these "connections" Mack Brown has Graham Harrell was the best he could come up with?
  8. So he has Littrells old job from 2015. Interesting.
  9. BV does not have a good relationship with the administration or staff. His questions are often worded with a condescending tone and his writing is detrimental in nature. And people take notice of it. He's sort of an inrovert with a twist of sarcasm in a profession that demands an extroverted personality.
  10. Good shit. Proud of the man. Proud of WB for sticking to his guns as well. Great news!!
  11. Agreed. I've always wanted to get out to one of their games. Never have been able to. I'm going to make an asserted point of it next season.
  12. It's unbelievable how both administrations are keeping their teams, recruits, and fans in limbo. It's starting to be borderline unprofessional.
  13. What are you guys hearing on your end?
  14. Exactly. He could've flown up there for a 1 hour meeting and made it back in time for dinner.
  15. What is it to Manhattan via jet? An hour? Maybe some change? It's very possible.
  16. If both bullet points are true, SL was getting close to axing GH anyways. Otherwise, why would he not take GH with him to Manhattan? Money would be similar.
  17. Adaway's team lost in the 7A state championship game 26-7 vs Bryant, AR. Was the only loss of the season, and I believe they beat Bryant earlier in the year if I remember correctly.
  18. What are you talking about. Sounding like a real winner.
  19. And UT hasn't been a notable opponent since 2009.
  20. That would take court action, needed court action for it to happen. The G5 presidents, AD's, and BOR's have to band together, or at least a good 25 or 30 of them and flex their muscles with an antitrust suit. That is the way to get that ball rolling. The problem is that this industry that they wall work in, specifically at the G5 level, they'd be stepping on their own toes while they themselves are trying to climb the professional ladder. It's a good ole boys club and whatever incentives and inside networking they do have would vanish at the literal snap of a finger. Prime example of this: Go look up videos of coaches speaking in regards to the G5 v. P5 model during CUSA media days. Bring a bucket with you, it's nauseating. Because let's face it the coaches, at the media made up G5 and (P5) level, are the faces of the programs and they would have to be the one's to really get this ball rolling down hill with some steam. But they are afraid to do it because they don't want to lose their personal inclusion and they don't want to be black-listed out of future (and higher paying) jobs. So, they just play along in their little bubble. It's all eff'd up.
