  1. Subject matter 1 - ^
  2. Biggest game of the year to date...And taking a dump vs a trucking company. This. Is. Why. Attendance. Is. Not. Seeing. The. Increase. Some. Of. You. Want.
  3. Yeah, all we'll need to do is pay our basketball players 100k out of HS, have fake and blatantly made up degree programs, have shoe endorsement/agents waiting in the wings like rabid dogs, throw some bills for tattoos, the prototypical $100 handshakes, sweep domestic violence under the rug, put a THE in front of UNT, claim the creation of a sport, and the list truly goes on. THEN, we can slip into our big boy pants.
  4. Won't be easy to move someone from a specific positional coach position to a OC? Makes sense.
  5. True and ok? The manmade food chain established by money and then follow up on with greed. Makes it look like we're sweating it, when the truth is we were only sweating on short yardage/situational play calling. Arguably when OCs make their hay.
  6. This kid is a 220 lb sophomore? If so, DE is probably his future position. DT pending his metabolism.
  7. Please unpin the USC tweet in statement to our former OC. Makes us, namely you, appear as a jealous girlfriend. Let's move on and keep on the up n up. That is all and thank you.
  8. Army would've dropped 70 on us in 2017 at Apogee had it not been for our offenses sustainability.
  9. 3 incomplete passes took 1:26 off the clock? Must've been 2000 foot high hail marys on all 3 passes.
  10. DD sort of put UNT back on the map from being dropped down. During his run I was a high school boy in Arkansas and I heard of the success happening in Denton then. 25 straight conference wins in a row is unprecedented. Consider his administrative support, AD, and dismal facilities, it has to be considered some sort of miracle. SL is doing a fine job. GH leaving does not hurt my feelings. I suspect a lot of the deficiencies that Rick mentioned will be cleaned up, i.e. situational play calling.
  11. They're not dismissing him. The university statement stated it being a "teaching moment." Like when Saban had a marquee OL get pulled over with 2 pistols with the serial numbers shaved off and 10 ounces of weed..."teaching moment." It's the typical sweep it under the rug verbiage. I'm not advocating for a dismissal. Stupid people do stupid things. At 22 years old thinking this is acceptable is an IQ indicator. Is what it is. Maybe, hopefully, he does learn from it. But if the history of "student"-athletes tells us anything, doubtful.
  12. I'm with you...to hell with raccoons. But the video is just f'ed up in a lot of psychological ways.
  13. The media is killing our athletics department and departments just like ours all around the country. There is no end all outside of going to watch a game and having a good time. But like Emmitt said, Denton (And basically all of DFW) is filled with a bunch of front runners. We have no 'end all' in sight. Our absolute BEST seasons to date consist of getting to the 20 win mark vs a bunch of perceived nobodies, beating some Louisiana or Tennessee wanna be team in a run down conference to make the NCAA tourney, be a 15th seed and get pushed around on TV in the first round to end the season. 10 years later, our end all has not budged. Those same outcomes is the best case scenario now as it was then. We are getting monopolized completely out of the picture and smiling while it happens.
  14. This is a blessing in disguise as a blessing. Good luck at USC.
  15. Mother nature is when your dog drags a deer leg out of the woods to your back door, or even a whole raccoon up into your yard. Mother nature is not getting a pair or trio of dogs riled with a caged animal. Then letting said animal out of cage so you can video a feeding frenzy to get your weird rocks off. It's pretty twisted shit to be honest. The only person or people that would watch this video without at least a trace of 'WTF' going through their minds are either 1) a sociopath 2) a backwoods river rat redneck 3) mixture of both.
  16. Gotta imagine he's done. And if he's not, it'll be difficult to cheer him on. It's one thing to use hunting dogs while actually on a hunt. This is obviously different, not to mention grossly idiotic on his part to put on social media.
  17. Sheesh, you're right. Our football and bball teams are eerily similar.
  18. Get your mind out the gutter. I'm not referencing sex in any form, or at least not intending to.
  19. The answer to your question is a resounding yes. I understand you probably had an at least in passing relationship with RV. And that for whatever reason or another compels you to sort of run to his defense. But the OVERALL job RV did here fell nothing short of absolutely motherfu**ing horrible. And the fault doesn't lie directly at his feet...I mean his piss poor performance certainly does, but the true fault are the people or person that hired an absolute unqualified person to run a job he had no business running. Then keeping him there for almost 2 decades. Do you think it's a coincidence athletic success started almost the instant he was fired? From a perception alone standpoint, WB has done more for this athletic department in 2 years than RV did in 16. Just think about that. As for the timing, you're right. But that same timing donkey punched this University and Ath Department in the throat. Since 2000, collegeiate athletics exploded onto the map. And we were trapped with a guy on his gravy train driving us into the dark depths of irrelevance. And when his job started to be questioned, the excuses started flying into the wall like baby shit hoping anything would stick as legitimacy. He tricked people. People fell for his BS. No one fan or donor wanted to admit being swindled and pimped. So chances after chances after chances were given to him. The same people that he swindled still runs to his defense to this day and it's unfathomable in my eyes. I'm off my platform. But when people still blindly defend the lunacy that was, my bones cringe.
  20. But, it does. Not decades, but you have to have running success to get buy in. Attendance has dramatically improved from 2 years ago to last season to now. And there is a reason for it, winning. And our SOS is taken into consideration even by fence sitting alum. Our OOC schedule has to be ranked in the 300's. It was a bit of a joke and when people raise their eyebrows to 17-2, it's the first thing they dive into. Then, they say, "Oh, I see." Our conference affiliation and the banging job CUSA is doing doesn't help, football or bball. 0 main stream television games = 0 exposure = 0 buy in. Gotta huddle around an iPad in hopes of ESPN+ running our game in a pay for streaming service. That'll be brand building, said no one ever.
  21. Or the losing hires he made over and over that led to UNT being a big pile of suck. Or the country club manner in which he "led" the department to the point of running people off and not really giving a fuuu. The donors he brainwashed and was stuck in content of not driving the envelope for more. And even had he wanted to he couldn't, because of the aforementioned suck. I will thank him for his part in getting Apogee, whatever part he had in that.
  22. Good stuff happening... This is positive momentum and this is why I always bitched like a little school girl during the McCarney years and early Littrell era. UNT is buzzing and this staff is just starting to only tap into the potential.
  23. From WB... "Baylor joins Cal and Texas Tech as Power 5 conference teams coming to Denton over the next few years." I believe someone needs to get with WB and layout the definition of few.
  24. 100% accurate comment.
