Hopefully they have the embarrassing numbers of 15 and 8,200 on their minds. Clamp down.

Yeah, but UNT very well could have broke even on that investment. This one if they choose to do it...not so much.

Good time to break the losing streak dating back to I believe Feb 7th. May have to head over tomorrow.

16-Team College Football Tournament
NorthTexasWeLove replied to Philip Ferguson's topic in Mean Green Football
It would be very cool. Most people would love it. Revenue would be streaming full tilt with 8 playoff games and talking about building a fan base for the "little guys", this would do wonders. But...The greedy piglets at the top would fear this woruld water down the product, and in hand would MAYBE water down TV contracts and then possibly allowing monetary push puts to slightly erode. And their bank roll is numero uno. -
AAC: The toughest nonconference schedules ranked

Gotta puff our chest with validity and beat UH and finally get a dub at smug. -
That's the most in depth article I have ever read on UNT football. Good stuff.

Yeah, I know some BS drawings were generated some years ago. But nothing of substance came of any of that. Do real ground level work to get the project off the ground. Substantiate it with actual technological ways to donate into an allocated fund. See where it takes us.

Is the Coaching Staff Improved

I know, it's kind of crazy. -

Well, I would like the AD to create a fund allocated for baseball. Make a big announcement about the "growing interest in baseball at UNT". Make a public luncheon out of it to announce, have computerized drawings of an arbitrary potential field, costs to create the team, and open the fund. It's planting a real seed. Couldn't possibly hurt anything.

....to allow UNT a baseball program as to the likes of 12 of our CUSA members? And don't give me title 9 BS. That all applies to the other CUSA members and SOME HOW, SOME WAY, they're able. . So.....

Wait and see. No way to tell... -
Kylan Johnson (6'2" 232LB) is transferring from UF and I believe is a grad transfer with 1 year of elegibility left. He is from Dallas Skyline HS and looking for a new home. He was a contributing LB at UF, but could never stay on the field due to injuries and depth overtaking him during his injuries. Solid player.

Yeah...10 of the 20 wins were vs the likes of Grand Valley Tech A&M. Spare me.

C-USA BBall Program Budgets
NorthTexasWeLove replied to Coach Bill Lewis's topic in Mean Green Basketball
The financial commitment is there for both FB and BB. We are not getting the return on investment. Top 5 bball budget = 10th place. Top 5 football budget + Top 5 attendance figures = 4th place in our own division (though 2nd place overall last year). I just fear this mini run of success is not sustainable due to the style if play in both sports. -
UNT Football = UNT Basketball The parallel is there. In both sports, when we play more physical teams that delivers body blows, we fold almost immediately. When we play finesse teams we have proven able to out finesse. So we know the problems. SL seemingly ignored the problem given the layout of the 19 recruiting class. And GM keeps ignoring the problem with his infatuation with guard play and scholarship offers for the next class. So, given this information, expect more of the same. Basketball the last 6 weeks has been Benford ball bad. Football the last month was not Dodge* ball bad, but it was bad. *The bowl game was maybe Dodge ball bad. Either way, shit has to be fixed.

McCasland should be forced to forfeit half of this years salary due to coaching only half the season. 17-1 to 20-11. That is pathetic.
-
We may have dipped to the 10 seed. Wow. That's just about laughable.

I have a close buddy that's an LSU alum. When I told him about it his exact reaction was, "If you ain't cheatin', you ain't tryin'. And they can take away our SEC championship and our 2019 Final Four run, but they won't be able to take away the memories."

Yeah...I posted yesterday about this in Rick's thread. Like most wealthy university coaches, dude is a cheating POS. And it's not just the cheating either. It's the complete lack of ethical awareness. In this tap, the bag man is referencing a certain player by name and Wade refers to him as, "The big kid?" because he doesn't even know the kids name outside the monetary figure attached to the kids offer. Which is all fine and dandy, but don't get on tV telling me about your family culture and about how much you love your players all while acting like a child of God. It's just a big pile of steamy bullshit.

https://sports.yahoo.com/exclusive-wiretap-reveals-lsu-coach-will-wade-discussed-recruiting-offer-hoops-scandal-middleman-175046487.html Shit is running rampant in both bball and football. Here is a doozy of an article about Will Wade at LSU getting himself in hot water. Can't go from Johnny to a probable 2 seed within a few yeard without there being question marks. And even then, Johnny landed Ben Simmons and he's been pretty open on what he thinks about the educational system. So one has to assume Johnny was involved with the Simmons signing as well. Cheating coaches need to be banned from coaching. The consequences have to far outweigh the reward.
