  1. I think 1 person is taking that stance. MF is the best to do it in UNT history.
  2. The more important piece of this we are missing is that UNT absolutely HAS to start wearing those white on white's more for road games.
  3. Pro success means that less than stellar QBs come in and put up numbers, bigger numbers than Fine, and they're just college talented and talented via the system. A myriad of other QB's HAVE put up big numbers in this system. No one is saying that Joe Blow QB off the street can come in and win 2 OPOY awards. But people are saying that given the system, the history of the system, a capable QB can slide in and put up decent, winning football numbers.
  4. I have seen him thrust his body forward to the point of almost falling over due to the torque of his throw. His body was upright and he followed through on that throw. It looked more natural than some of his other downfield throws.
  5. I don't believe anyone is saying that ANY QB can come in here and duplicate. But there is a very long list of air raid QB's who had tremendous success in college and were nobodies in the NFL. Look no further than our former OC. History tells us that QBs CAN consistently have success in this system if they have the IQ and accuracy to fit the mold. Another QB might not be able to duplicate per say, but they can come in and keep providing consistency to the point of not seeing a monumental drop off. And some of that has to be attributed to the system.
  6. This is actually a good example of his arm strength. He didn't body throw it, used good form and threw it from a good grounded base. There are throws similar to this one where he does pat the ball and body throw it though. I think his arm strength, for his size, is outstanding. The problem with his arm strength for his size is that the NFL doesn't get a f about that. I have seen Fine throw mallards from hash to numbers in game situations before. And those are the very drills that NFL teams will have him do. If he gets in front of some scouts and throws some wobblers their notebooks will be slapped shut. I think he needs to continue to bulk up, continue to tune his skills and I truly believe he will get his shot. He needs to make a point of finding his windows from within the pocket throughout the 2019 season, much like the very next play in your posted sequence. If NFL scouts see a smaller QB consistently spinning it through designed and/or manipulated windows they will be able to look pass his height.
  7. We've been harping on this notion for it seems like years. I can only imagine that the people that sit in the seats to make decisions have thought of this or at least heard other people chirping about it. What is the hold up in your opinion?
  8. Yeah...this is the reality when our prime games are played on Muzika Pervogo in Moscow. Thanks, Judy.
  9. No, I feel ya. And I too prefer defense being played. I just don't see either team being able to stop the other. I embrace a shootout vs UH because I think it provides us a good probability of winning.
  10. Tulsa at 88, LA Tech at 83 and smug at 80 = farce. UNT is a better job than all 3 and mother time will prove that moving forward.
  11. This is minuscule in comparison to the real reasons she needs to be gone? Why haven't this been discussed at the level it needs to be to get her dismissed? She's awful and just a case of 21st century forced fed gender inclusion, and UNT and it's conference mates are the one's suffering from it.
  12. I don't fear it. I embrace it. I think our D with our crowd will be able to pull out some key 2nd half stops and pull one out. I think it will be a shootout and I like that it will be. Their D is horrible and the hiring of Hologerson just solidifies that horribleness. I like our chances. I actually love them tbh.
  13. it will be clearly seen from inside of Apogee as well, which I like. It will extend the perception of great facilities outside of Apogee with visuals, in person or on TV.
  14. You are right. My mistake. I was confused by the misinformation provided by a previous poster.
  15. I think the current pay and facilities will speak for themselves on getting an ideal staff in here. No need to throw out 4-500K x X years more. They're gone when they're gone. Pull the reigns in and think that way. 500K can do a shit whack ton for an athletic program year over year. Hell, that's like a WHOLE TV contract for members in CUSA.
  16. IMO, there is no logical reason outside of an anomaly (ODU) that we lose any of the first 7 games you have listed. MUTS will be sending away their 17th year senior QB. UAB will be sending away their 9th year senior class. UTSA, IMO, is stumbling in a bout and needs a knockout blow type season for Franky to be sent down the road kicking rocks. In theory, we should to 7-0 there. Even more so if you consider the timing of our program. La Tech and USM, I'm with you. 2 of the top 3 West teams. Both on the road. Not good. But, we do have a little ace in our sleeve. We owe La Tech a little payback. Hopefully they have large crowd to witness their L too. So a split here gets us to 8-1, in theory. We need to beat the brakes off of SMU in Dallas. And I think this is the year we do it. Maybe not as bad as last years beatdown, though would be nice. But I think we walk out of Dallas with a 2 TD win. UH is going to be tough only due to their QB + our history defending running QB's. The crowd will be big for this one, so that is in our favor. I have to imagine UH will be favored though and Las Vegas has open betting lines for a reason. Cal to me is a toss up. But history is history. So, a probably outcome of this 3 game mini season is 1-2. 9-3.
  17. Hopefully smart and timely hires are made so we can keep the train rolling. So, who knows, we may get to find out in a sort of another way.
  18. Yep. That's why it's so difficult to fall in line with their "hoo-hah, We're building something very special" kind of mentality that many new (to the school) AD and coaches opt to take. Granted I don't want the Ben Stein impersonation either. But you know these guys are check chasers. And the easy response is, well aren't we all? Sure, I guess. But in most people's line of work 150% pay increases aren't right around the corner no matter the time/effort put in. So my response to this thread is, why? Why give substantial raises to either? They both know their stock is up. They both know they will be bolting when that 150% calling comes up. So if we know the givens, or the historical givens in this profession, why pour sacrificial money into people that are possibly 18-20 months away from putting on another logo? Seems like that money could be invested back into the program or into the future salary pool of the next go around of trying to stay relevant. Just my .02.
  19. No. Scott is a 'former' adulterer, if there ever was a thing. He started getting heat and quit back last Spring. Jennings was sent packing by UH due to the coaching change.
  20. Not long ago that was the idea...Not even 2-3 years ago. Now, even the bottom feeding nobodies of the "P5" of whom will never win meaningful games in our lifetime are starting to whip that TV money out of their wallet...Jeff Brohm was recently extended by Purdue to the tune of 5.15M per year with 1.7M incentives attached. Brohm's incentives outweigh SL's current salary I believe. Other programs will follow suit such as your BC's, Colorado's, Indiana's, etc. of the world. Those pesky nobodies (and they will most certainly remain nobodies) are starting to put out even for no other reason but to delineate themselves from "us".
  21. All 3 are wins, as is ACU. Those are 4 what I think the big boys would describe as "cupcakes." Lose to them, or even just 2 of the 4, Seth Littrell's name will start to disappear into the night...
