  1. I'd definitely replace LA Tech with So Miss. LaTech has a social media presence and their die hards travel well, but don't mistake that for their general support. In their good years, which is consistent and at 8/7/9 wins, they only bring in 19/20k a game.
  2. Well...Wal-Mart better get their t-shirts hung. The degreeless fan base of UT will be coming to a Wal-Mart near you.
  3. To hell with SMU. As WB stated, take over the area. Make our own path and dictate our own future without trembling about SMU letting us have a seat at their kids table. F them.
  4. Oh, I know. Forced opportunity is the best kind of opportunity. Am I rite? Let's say these kind of structural legislations were put in place for, dare I say it, white men?
  5. Then make accounts for it and open them up to the public to funnel money.
  6. If he's an early enrollee in December Fine will still be at UNT for another semester as a student only.
  7. Then in the same token you have to agree that the WNBA is a major professional sport.
  8. The point, from the beginning, is women's basketball is not a major sport.
  9. I mean, sure. But ticket sales for football cover ALL coaching salaries and more. Women's basketball ticket sales don't even cover the HC salary. This is looking at it in the most elementary level.
  10. Not necessarily true. Many "lesser" programs flirt with breaking even in football, including UNT. I believe we were 1 or 2 million away in expenditures vs revenue. Most programs in women's basketball bleed money at a cyclical rate and there's not really even a platform to defend it.
  11. Yeah, I need to get back into the donating realm. I think they would have far more success if the athletic department would create allotted accounts for projects so people could donate into their project of choice as well as the MGSF. People are more inclined to give their money if they know what their money will be used for.
  12. What's Mitchell's salary? I think around 200k. I think the women's attendance average is like 1000. What's it cost to get into a woman's game? $7-10? Around 15-16 home games? Ticket sales don't even cover her salary. Let alone her assistants, equipment and travel costs. And most programs are similar to this model than to UCONN's. Women's basketball is not a major sport or money sport.
  13. Only at UNT is women's basketball considered a major sport. #GetBaseball
  14. Mistake. Baylor is a program that is quickly going back to their rightful form. They will soon switch places with KU as the supreme cellar dweller. Baylor will keep trying to pluck fringe players that no one else in their conference wants. This is all inevitable, and whoever commits there isn't committing to Baylor, but rather the Big12 patch on their jersey.
  15. No. He anticipates nothing except a couple butthurt assistants from other schools chiming in on his choice of school. It means little to nothing. It's a trendy phrase right now and needs to go away.
  16. It's the trendy sig line nowadays with the kids in their what they think is infamous "decision" on twitter or instagram, etc.. Much like, "I have decided to 'take my talents to....X'".
  17. I went by yesterday as well. Looks like it's coming together nicely. I also like that the contracting company is keeping the site clean and tidy to not muck up the rest of the area for aesthetic purposes during summer recruiting.
  18. Good commit! Notable offers include Texas State, UTSA, SoMiss, UCF and UNT. Currently a 3 star at .8399. I don't think he'll be a "challenge to hang onto" either. I like his height and weight coming out of HS and his arm is live, at least in his hudl clips.
