  1. Indeed, it is. Welcome to the site btw.
  2. This and this. We're gonna be playing DE's at NT in 2021 at this rate or a DT that should be playing at the FCS level. Gotta shore it up.
  3. That's unfortunate. I don't think canvas emails gets the juices flowing for these kind of events. Not to be a troll, but maybe we should start trolling to boost attendance on this kind of stuff. Such as, holding the event on SMU's boulevard, or San Antonio's Riverwalk, or Louisiana Tech's, ummm, nevermind. Fort Worth's Sun Dance Square? I don't know, but holding this event too far away from UNT without a recognizable reason to attend is not going to pull quality results.
  4. Yup. Sure, Colorado is beautiful. But, that means nothing. He's not a 42 year old liberal-arts photographer. He's a football player that I am assuming is trying to make the best decision to get him to the "next level". Well, is Colorado that best choice? No. That's the short answer. The long answer is that there are about 5 schools on his offer list that would afford him a better opportunity for his future. And nice views aren't going to pay his future bills
  5. He is now rated. .83 - 3 star. Since UNT offering in January, he has been offered by Tulane, Tulsa, Texas State, Colorado State, and Hawaii. Before us, he was offered by both SoMiss and Iowa State. Not sure where @UNTLifer picked up his measurables, but according to 247 he is now 6'3" 243lb. We need this guy. Quality player from a school of tradition with good offers from around the country.
  6. Need this guy. Since our offer, NSMU, Northwester State, and ULM have all offered. And still has the Lousiville offer from 8/2018. I have no idea if that's still an honored offer. Still sits at a .8316, three star.
  7. I don't mean to throw rocks in a glass house here, but does he know what KU Football is about? I suppose this might be a question for @GMG24 since you may or may not still be in that ISD. I am not sure what this kid is looking for....Being away from home? Certain academic criteria? Campus lifestyle? NFL odds? I have no idea. But what I can tell him is that he is without doubt committed to a program that is 4 years away from being even relatively close to relevance. And that's if the grass eating lunatic over there can get things actually turned around, which is no guarantee. He has no idea who will be throwing the ball to him or even if the QB there will be worth a damn. Also, KU has 1 current former player of theirs on an NFL roster right now as it sits. One. Also, it's in Kansas. Has Keith ever been to Kansas? I have. Several times for work, and it's miserable. I've been all over the state, in every corner. It sucks, truly sucks. So, again, not sure what's attracting him to that place, but I can assure him that UNT is a place where a guy with his skill level will thrive and will be noticed. And he will be relatively close to home with a great academic foundation. I was skimming the offer lists and saw this name, then saw Colony, then saw KU commit. I had to find the thread and make a post. He could be a difference maker here.
  8. Yeah, so we have 0 DT commits since the 2018 class. That is a burden that will haunt this team in the future if it's not addressed this class. 1 JUCO DT and 2 HS DT would be ideal.
  9. He's surely 17 by now. But my video was posted in a joking manner. But, he does need to start consider weight gain if he's coming on as an OT. And it's better to gradually put it on to keep athleticism then to throw it on quickly looking like a bag of pudding.
  10. We have 4 OL commits. I think Williams might be a blue/greyshirt option for he has not been added to the committed class to this point. Of the 4 OL commits we do have, the average height and weight is 6'2.5" 275lbs. Considering these are all high school commits, this is pretty dang good. You are looking at 4 OL that could easily reach 300+ lbs by their sophomore year when they will be called on. Concerning part of it, we have 1 DL commit, a DE. We have to get legitimate and productive DT for this D. 3-3-5 dictates a bonafide NT. We didn't really sign one last class. I think Democo Roland of Broken Bow commited but may have not signed due to whatever reason (academic maybe?). Or he did sign and I'm incompetent at looking up basic information. Nevertheless, if he did or didn't, we are looking at 0 DT's for the 2020 and 2019 classes as it sits. That is a colossal problem. The pro SL people will in SL we trust all day, but this is an issue. A big one. We need 2-3 THIS class. We have 0.
  11. Then he better start broteining...
  12. Who actually listens to salt and peppered pony tailed dirty looking professors who wear the same sport coat every day as a theme of life guidance? If you do, well, you'll grow up...eventually.
  13. His recruiting profile on 247 has him as as OT/DE. I have no idea what UNT has interest in. I would imagine they have an idea, but don't really care as long as he develops into something promising. 6'5" 250 are ideal SDE measurables. Putting on 35 pounds would be ideal for him to be OT in this type of O while also keeping his athleticism. The roster management might dictate his future position. But he only has us and NMSU as offers and is not rated on 247 as far as I can see.
  14. I don't twitter, but I do see the imbeds on here and it does seem that way. It's a way to generate good recruiting momentum, particularly if little birdies tell them who our top targets are for them to go after via social media. There are dead periods for coaches, and those are approaching quickly, but there is no dead period for current players/commits. And the "big boys" take advantage of this on a yearly basis. It's littered all over social media. No reason UNT shouldn't.
  15. Disappointed there wasn't a Khaled gif. You can do better.
  16. You're right. But it's only a matter of time before bowls have minimal attendance than they already do, tv ratings plummet worse than they already have and sponsors start pulling out. When that inevitably starts happening, it will overcorrect itself.
  17. Classic case of conversing with exceptions.
  18. 43 bowls now. It's ridiculous. 35 at most is ideal. Really 30 is where I'd like to see it. It's far too saturated now and has lost its meaning.
  19. The P5 bowl tie-ins have been announced. G5 is yet TBD. However, MWC picked back up their tie-in associated with a P5 in the new LA Bowl. They lost the tie-in to the LV Bowl a few months ago. The MAC now has a tie-in with a P5 opponent in the Quick Lane Bowl in Detroit. I believe they use to hold this tie-in. They have it back. The AAC has 4 tie-ins with P5 opponents. The new Fenway Park Bowl, Military Bowl, B'ham Bowl, and Gasparilla Bowl. As it sits, Sun Belt and CUSA have no such tie-ins.
  20. Every coach, player, parent, student, fan, band member, alumnus, BOR member, major/minor donors needs to get on board with this train of thought. If so, watch out because this place will be special really fast. Love this kid already.
  21. Attendance would be much better if it was closer to the season and incorporated ticket pick ups. Doing it the week after school gets out 3 months before the season starts is a recipe for poor attendance. I would consider myself a die hard and I can't say I've ever attended one of these. It's just not important to me. Is the show of attendance at this kind of event a program trajectory indicator?
  22. I'd definitely replace LA Tech with So Miss. LaTech has a social media presence and their die hards travel well, but don't mistake that for their general support. In their good years, which is consistent and at 8/7/9 wins, they only bring in 19/20k a game.
  23. Well...Wal-Mart better get their t-shirts hung. The degreeless fan base of UT will be coming to a Wal-Mart near you.
