  1. I don't think it's in the best interest of the program to name a concrete back-up QB, particularly if you're splitting hairs to do it. It sets up the potential for toxicity and surefire transfers. Let them battle it out for QB1 when the timing is right then let the chips fall where they may.
  2. Yeah. They easily fill the entire visitor section, both tiers, plus some more. Though it's not physically filled because they decided to pick and choose their seats. Either way, I think both teams feel good about where their programs sit and I expect the stadium to be at full capacity.
  3. The years we played Troy and USU, yes. Army in 2016, no. I believe Army went 8-5 that year.
  4. Naw...Bring that overshot of Apogee stadium that UNT likes to use in marketing sometimes...You will see the red scattered throughout the stadium + your above image. They brought more fans to Apogee than anyone else ever has except for maybe 2017 vs Army. Some have flirted with it such as UTEP when they're good, UTSA when they're good and LaTech when they're good.
  5. 2023 should be a really good year for UNT football. It will be when these last two recruiting classes are upper classmen and we're playing a weaker OOC than usual. If we can find a good young QB in this class or the previous class, that will be his (RS) senior year or senior year and we should be rolling.
  6. Brandon Brown needs to get on board. He's an anchor waiting to happen.
  7. Fine was pulled out of the USU game in the 1st quarter when the score was 7-7.
  8. 2-2 has to be a minimum. A 1-3 start would be disastrous. I think 3-1 is very doable and 4-0 is not out of the realm of possibilities.
  9. Utah State? He was just referring to studying tape on Fine to limit him. Fine hardly played vs USU so there's not really tape to study there. Another anti-UNT "fan" here I see. Just like we'll go 1-3 in OOC, huh? Based off of nothing other than pessimism.
  10. Sure, there is room there for speculation -- "SEC bump". But his offer list is definitely that of a 4-star.
  11. Getting a new OC should prove itself to be a game changer. We needed it.
  12. If you want to BEAT a team as bad as they do not want to LOSE to you then they are a rival -- SMU.
  13. Win 3rd down/both sides. Be + in TOs Do those, both of them, I think we will all like the outcome.
  14. I'm not disagreeing with you that their defense isn't good. But their current brand of football leaves no margin for error, by either offense or defense. Their offense can't put their defense in precarious situations and vice versa. If they do, they'll fold. Sure, they could beat us. But they'd have to play a turnover free game, while having sustainable and consistent success on offense all while holding us to under 20-24 points. Good luck.
  15. Bag money must've showed up from somewhere else...
  16. This right chere. Some like to point out their D as the leading reason for their hype-train. UNT has had no problem scoring points vs them and that is unlikely to change. And the 30 points dropped on them last year was a rainy home game with minimal to no energy in the stands. Felt like a practice and they still dropped 30. Color me unimpressed.
  17. I mean...Not really. TCU is "P5". SMU is not perceived on their level by anyone in the country in any societal circle outside of SMU. Outside of the Dallas bubble (Or really just the Mockingbird Lane bubble), UNT = SMU. I know you like the anti-UNT drivel. But I have to come slide UNT back to it's proper pecking order when I see your looney posts.
  18. This is a very needed kid for this class. Reel em' in. Love the current kids getting in on him as well. GMG
  19. Every single answer was diplomatic. This conference is not in a stable place. That is a lie. 445k is better than 200k. Still less than half of the 1.1. The conferences need to realign. This is a reactive conference with a reactive commissioner. The SEC, ACC, etc. and even the AAC and the MWC are proactive conferences with proactive commissioners. The Sun Belt is more in tune and comes off more sustainable than CUSA. They at least know their place and have decided to carve out their niche with Tuesday and occasional Thursday night nationally televised games and dubbed it FunBelt. Their payouts may not be bigger than CUSA's, but their national exposure is 10 fold that of CUSA. And exposure cannot be undervalued. It's a paramount part of the dynamic equation that is collegiate sports.
  20. They have 2-star offer lists. That is without question.
  21. That's cute. Because Kyler Murray was 5'11", 180-pounds coming out of HS and last I checked he played at OU (and ATM). These coaches say this to save face and not look like fools. If it wasn't said to purposefully disparage UNT then I would agree with you, but you and I know those snarky comments (because that's what they are) are said to belittle the university and athletic program.
  22. Well...what is this like Jalie's 4th year? And if going .500 is going to be challenging to her than let's quit giving her raises first of all and let's put her on the hot seat if it plays out this way.
  23. Kind of where my thinking is at. The schedule in CUSA is never going to be overly difficult. The OOC schedule is not really a murder's row either tbh. ACU, SMU, Cal and UH is a good and solid schedule, but to me they're all beatable teams there. This will be his best offensive roster he's had and 7-5 will be unsatisfactory. Winning a conference championship is never easy regardless of the conference, but getting to 9 wins with a bowl win has to be the standard given the situation at hand.
