  1. I'm fully ready to embrace #2. That means pushing Littrell out and neglecting football KU style. Next HFC gets 1/3 the salary that SL gets and McCasland needs to be a multi-million a year coach with the expectations to boot. Let's turn The Pit into a crown jewel or convince UNT to rip it down and build a state of the art 7-8k seat Arena. I'm not opposed to it at all, and I'm 100% a football guy. But we're teetering in the land of the unknown. Let's go be great at something.
  2. No doubt. I walked away disgusted. I already knew we were in a coaching blunder a few years before that when UNT went into UTEP in 2016 with bowl eligibility on the line at 5-6 up against a 3-8 UTEP team. UNT gets railroaded 52-24. That's when I knew we had issues, philosophically and coaching. This game you post about, along with many others, have solidified my 2016 impression vs UTEP. Good coaches, even with an average at best team doesn't lose games like that, let alone get ran out of town..
  3. They were good last year, decent the few years before that. That's it. They sellout their stadium the same way we do, they don't. We're at the northern most tip of the metroplex, they're in the heart of it. If they're supposed to have all this muscle to flex and historic firepower, the city of Dallas doesn't seem to give a damn. We need to quit swinging around on their dingleberries. We maneuver ourselves into the best case scenario, and we should've been doing it in 2017. If that best case means we're forever playing the likes of UTEP and utsa then we all need to agree to quit running the financial rat race and drop down to FCS and quit trying to smear lipstick on this pig. This is the moment, we're in or we're out.
  4. Waiting on SMU is hyperbole and not a mindset I will fall in line with.
  5. Thank your local Mean Green coach and/or administrator.
  6. The PAC12 needs a rebranding boost and a more competitive persona. If I'm them I'm adding programs and especially Texas programs so it gets us into the state for recruiting purposes. It makes sense. It also makes sense for schools like TT, TCU and even OSU to be panic jump into a new home for the sake of having a new home. For TCU it'd be somewhat familiar territory.
  7. It's going to be one of a few scenarios... 1. To your point, yes, 4-16 team conferences. 2. If the Big12 stays, WVU to the ACC along with ND and the Big12 is able to backfill 9 programs into their conference to get to 16, it could justify keeping the P5 intact with 5-16 team conferences. A Texas A&M I believe beat writer posted this on his twitter account a few days ago with conviction...
  8. Exactly this. People praise WB and maybe rightfully so. But he has handed out unneeded extensions and that might be getting ready to smack him in the mouth, and upon his hire he over hired too much big salaried insulation. Anyway... In the current downward spiral, there's a feeling and it may just be me, people in the athletic department are dragging feet.
  9. This is 100% correct. There is a 15 team expansion into big time college football taking place, from 65 to 80. Be one of the 15 or slash your athletic budget a great deal and. spend how you're perceived. Doing otherwise would be a gross waste of money.
  10. I didn't realize nobody's got to vote.
  11. This is the beginning of the real "split" that has been accelerated by NIL.
  12. The schools are partnering with sponsors either openly or disclosed. They're (the school) basically reeling in the money from companies to throw at kids for advertisement space. It's basically the school paying the the player without the University of Alabama as the header on the check.
  13. No. Not really. If SL walked away today, in my mind, his tenure here would bring about 2 thoughts. 1. Mason Fine 2. The absolute lack of energy and enthusiasm he and his teams have.
  14. The 64k question has to be asked... Should we be, as you stated, where we are as a program going into this or any HCs 6th year?
  15. It's different in several significant ways. But I think, or would hope, you know the difference.
  16. Cute French tuck. Anyway, this season is sink or swim time. I know so many people are defensive of SL, but the evidence is clear. So I'll save my time on not posting the defying scores, big game blunders and the utter negligence on defense. Just, put up or shut up.
  17. That is a media coined nuisance for the sake of not allowing even the most causal college football fan to get confused about the difference in "real" college football and "G5" college football. It's all in the name of money.
  18. To me, I don't see how you go snag a P5 QB if you're not concerned about the position group. In my mind, the staff is going to give Ruder every opportunity to beat out Aune. If Aune does end up the starter then it will be because he earned the right.
  19. It's allowed if you move into the school district and the former AD/HC signs off on it. And you are right, it happens ad nauseam at suburbia schools.
  20. If this is even gets remotely close to happening, get your pitchforks ready.
  21. Yeah, there were honorable mentions in my mind that I just didn't add. And 2 are certainly Jeff and Brelan. Another player that came to mind that did so much for the program in hidden statistics and was a staple for that 2013 defense was Richard Abbe. And you could easily replace my 5A and 5B with Jeff and Brelan. But i thought the best defense we've had in a long time on the best team we've had in a long time needed love.
  22. Cancel or not cancel. Indiana has been it and that was 10 years ago. We've had this athletic administration in place for 5-6 years? 0. I know scheduling can be slippery and takes time in today's climate, but the answer is still 0.
