Is there a Coaches' show tonight ?
NorthTexasWeLove replied to greenjoe's topic in Mean Green Football
I'm going to go out on a small limb and ask, whoops cares!!! Maybe 10 people aged 60+ hanging on to any head coaches words as gospel for the hope of some weird egotistical form of inclusion. -
You're the A.D....What Does It Take to Keep SL?
NorthTexasWeLove replied to Mean Green 93-98's topic in Mean Green Football
So, in your opinion, 3 straight 4-8 years warrants another year? -
Any interest in Ed Orgeron?

Missouri + woodshed = sore UNT ass.

If we’re talking a new head coach…

Option. Option. Option. Maybe the more I say it the more likely it is. Is that how this works? -
Biggest disappoint for me this season is the oline
NorthTexasWeLove replied to Jonnyeagle's topic in Mean Green Football
Biggest disappointment for me is definitely in the coaching. -
It's not so much what the SunBelt has done. Granted, they have marketed that gimmick of FunBelt very well. But the rise of App State and Coastal Carolina into FBS football has helped them tremendously all the while Billy Napier has been able to Keep LaLa the consistent bellcow of the conference. They have timing on their side, 0 doubt.

This is how it will go down
NorthTexasWeLove replied to Coach Andy Mac's topic in Mean Green Football
I could get behind this. I do like attaching ourselves to LaTech. But even without them, I could still get behind this. -
Stay Positive - they say.

This will end college football as we know it
NorthTexasWeLove replied to MeanGreen_MBA's topic in Mean Green Football
Inevitable. I think we can all agree that college football is losing its shine. Shame. -
Coach?

I'm excited to know that players are still hitting the weights and coaches and players are watching film. As if that's not bare minimum for everyone involved. Great. -
A Crazy Idea for North Texas
NorthTexasWeLove replied to MeanGreenGlory's topic in Mean Green Football
That's not crazy at all. That's the Florida State blueprint. -
Yup. Go basketball route with resources and support. It's far and away easier to be competitive in basketball than football. Then go flexbone in football in a way where we're known as it much like the academies are known for it. Then it turns into a machine, offensively, regardless of what coach comes and goes. We only hire coaches from the flexbone tree. Well, yeah.

If true then the BOR and school president can usher WB out with SL when he goes. That would be completely unacceptable.- 140 replies

If we’re talking a new head coach…
NorthTexasWeLove replied to NorthTexasSportsNetwork's topic in Mean Green Football
I've said it before and I'll say it again, flexbone. We aren't winning national championships, we just aren't. And I know the state is filled with spread offenses, doesn't mean you can't cherry pick the underrecruited much like the service academies do. Undersized linemen is also a plus in this offense. It sets us a part and makes us difficult to game plan for. We become a headache for a lot of people. -
Good showing vs Baylor. Beat one of UNT's conference mates. Poor showing vs IW. Then got bullied by EMU's physical play. All in all, they have one win like us. Would we go into Waco and only get beat by 9 today? In contrast to that, would we lose to IW? I would probably say no and no. So, to answer your question, it's working out for them about how our approach is working out for us.

Sad UNT following for a short road trip
NorthTexasWeLove replied to MeanGreen_MBA's topic in Mean Green Football
I liked their facilities too. They have a lot of the makings of a solid program. Geography just isn't kind to them. But then again geography is kind to us and I have no room to speak. -

I drove to ABQ for that bowl. Knowing the game might be ugly, I took the wife skiing in Taos before the game to lessen the pain and make the trip worthwhile. -

When is it the Assistant Coaches fault???
NorthTexasWeLove replied to Hookset's topic in Mean Green Football
No. Assistants are interviewed and hired. They do not appoint themselves. -

Wow. Our cheerleaders didn't even go? Seth Litrell's salary is squeezing budgets, I guess. That or the 15 athletic administrators insulating the athletic department. -
A whole bunch of this. Good job... Almost on the button.
