So to be clear, SMU is dissatisfied with their basketball coach because he won 24 games and lost in the 2nd round of the NIT? So to try to "clean up" their program they're going to go after a coach that won 25 games and lost in the 2nd round of the NIT? That 1 game holds a lot of weight, I guess.

Great season. Invest. Invest. Invest.

Better start running DK and hitcha 3's or this one is over.

I really don't see UH leaving a gaping hole in the AAC with their departure. I think Cincy, across all sports, is a bigger loss to the AAC.

Of course. But even Bama getting in and ATM being left out is mind blowing. 19-13 vs 23-12 and both had 9-9 conference records while ATM made it to the finals in their tourney. I just feel like this is nothing but a larger scale CFB playoff, the committee can't wait to hose the little guy unless they're caught dead to rights with no other option. -

Sure. But I think 18-12 type record should be minimum. 17-14 is just too little too late. Gives the wrong impression, sends the wrong message. -

Clearly NET only means something if it needs to mean something. Therefore, it means nothing. A basketball team 3 games over .500 deserves and has earned the right to sit at home. -

This. This is the BS that I'm against. 0 justification for this selection. -
Does North Texas have a chance?

100% this. And it's BS. Tired of seeing 18-13 "major conference" teams steal spots as 10-13 seeds just to get bounced early. -

Great season. I'm not disappointed. I think we could've survived this loss and make the NCAA had we not lost to UTEP to end the year. I watch the NIT and I think the NIT is very competitive especially later in the tournament.

UNT AD List of Priorities
NorthTexasWeLove replied to Tom McKrackin's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Maybe, but I will tell you this... The average attendance per game in the CWS just this past season would be the 13th most attended women's basketball game, ever. -

No one adheres to Tile IX, no one. That's just an old excuse that anti-baseball people throw around. -

I find it difficult to consider WBB a "main sport" because people want it to be so. The CWS and the run up to the CWS + Omaha gets 10x the media attention WBB would only dream of. -

I think we should be a basketball school that has an outstanding baseball program. We are so gung-ho on being good in football, and I love football. Eventually we have to face our reality and take the green goggles off and really look into who and what we are as a football program. Football is easily the most difficult sport to get good at and 10 fold that to stay good at. Drastic measure needs to be taken to put our eggs in baskets that will shine a positive light on our university. Football hasn't really done since the 70's. How much more evidence do we need to move on and really, really invest in basketball and FINALLY stand a baseball program back up. -

We should steal money from SL and give it to GM. Give it all to GM. He's put his program on a platform with consistency. SL treads water.

Andy Kennedy is a very good coach. He had Ole Miss, usually a pretty poor program, competitive in most of his tenure there. UAB is a rich and healthy basketball program. Kennedy will see to it that it remains.
