  1. So, uh, running the ball isn't working. And they clearly will not put this game in Aune's hands. We are playing to not drop the soap....squeeze tight boys, but not too tight.
  2. Another 3rd and 16 coming up. I bet they get it. Any takers?
  3. Just your run of the mill 3rd and 16 conversion.
  4. Cover 4 and post for a tuddy. Ridiculous.
  5. Yes. Coaching point for the coach. Pretty heinous.
  6. Those programs you named are going to an already established conference that will dictate one of those 6 slots, their incoming new TV deal will see to that. You're just a debbie downer. Yes, the AAC will become weaker. It's up to the current and incoming members to keep the AAC up to standard. There's a P6 slot up for grabs and the CFB committe made that clear. The AAC already self proclaimed themselves just that. We must keep it going. I can guarantee you the MWC, AAC and SunBelt will be vying for positioning. Exactly, what is your point?
  7. If that's your good program indicator then good luck.
  8. UAB, UTSA, ECU, Temple, SMU, FAU, Memphis, USF and Navy have all had nationally ranked seasons of note. None of them are named UCF, UH, or UC. What can't happen is a CLT losing to William and Mary. That shitbed can't happen and when it inevitably does, it has to be rare. Don't be such a debbie downer. That same group named has us, Tulane, Tulsa and Rice. If which all 4 has a history of success. It's certainly an upgrade.
  9. Under this staff, there is literally no telling.
  10. I mean, not really. We have to find an identity. Then recruit to it. We can't be big AND air raid. We can't be small AND ground and pound. We are tweeners in philosophy and personnel.
  11. Duh. But would you go back and erase all of SL's past sins for a win though?
  12. This isn't true. If the verbiage that I am seeing and reading is accurate, it's the 6th HIGHEST rated conference CHAMPIONS, and then of course 6 at large. There are only 5 'P5" conferences. The playoff committee actually attempted to create parity in this format. Now, there will be a 'G5' in the playoff every year. Now, with that said, the AAC HAS to make sure it continues to do everything it possibly can to maintain that edge as the best perceived 'G5' conference in the country. The members, old and new, must carry their weight to make sure that happens as well. Charlotte sure as shit didn't carry a bright torch yesterday for the future of the conference. But that's nasty CUSA version of CLT. This is kind of big news.
  13. Meh. I disagree, sort of. I think the home opener (especially after a road W) will draw a crowd. I've seen our fan base give LaTech as much and maybe more respect in regards to attendance, as well as Army and at times utsa. SMU is local and it's usually early in the year. I think that's the drawing power. If SMU was wedged into early November and we were sitting at 3-6 or 4-5, I think attendance would see a bump because it's a local team. But ultimately they would be treated, as far as attendance goes, like any western divsion opponent we play.
  14. It's a combo of both. But you know even our very own fans are, "Well I'm a diehard UNT fan, but-but-but-but-but my uncle went to ATM so that's why I have ATM stuff". Or, "I'm a diehard UNT fan, but-but-but-but I got my masters at Colorado (failing to mention global) (also fails to mention exclusively online (if you didn't pick up on global)) (also fails to mention when he was 47) so that's why I have Colorado gear."
  15. Not surprising. Venture off campus 2 feet and it's merchandise for every university not named UNT everywhere. I'm just waiting for our stadium store to start selling TCU, ATM and UT gear.
  16. You're not wrong. But that graphic and several like it are made, posted and shared as if the results were somehow organically created and it's just the way it is. So when TV deals are made with conferences (in the billion figure amount) and watching listings start getting made people are programmed to have an understanding as to why it is the way it is. These networks, media outlets, etc are just catering to the consumer... without mentioning, for obvious reasons, that they themselves are the one's that created the consumer and pigeon-holed them toward the product in which we will consume. It all started, politically, in the mid-20th century. It has spiraled from there with other agreeable almunus politicians sinking their teeth into this. What has happened and is continuing to happen is simply wrong. But yes, 8% of the collegiate sport consumer roots for over 50% of FBS programs. I believe it.
  17. Is this supposed to be telling? Since college football games have been broadcasted on television you can make the argument that over 92% of these very teams are the one's being broadcasted and advertised to the mouth-breathing consumer. Start broadcasting evenly and broadly and then reexamine this in 2080. Otherwise, this is just more of the same. Advertise and advocate for the 'big guys' while looking for avenues (like this very graph) to knock down the little guy.
  18. The interest of consumption is certainly there. That's why conferences are entering into the billion dollar TV deal realm. The interest of physically entering into stadiums is waning. The game productions of major television companies is just way better than anything in-person, unless of course you're an absolute die-hard fan.
  19. ...in the box/suites for the SMU game. My infant child isn't really weather proof yet, so here we are. I know this probably isn't the game to get them, but I figured why not. I will pay face value or more, if need be. IM me if you have some (3) available. Thank you in advance.
