***OFFICIAL UNT VS UNLV GAME THREAD***
NorthTexasWeLove replied to Coach Andy Mac's topic in Mean Green Football
Not too disappointed in the half. Our defense is terrible. Ole Yeller needs to hang it up. A questionable hire from the get go. Anyway, off topic, wonder if the Murphy twins are enjoying themselves right about now... -
***OFFICIAL UNT VS UNLV GAME THREAD***

Run the ball 60 times and end every possession in some form of a kick and we might win this one going away. -
So, in a nutshell, there is always going to be better coaches than SL and we don't have to pay 2M a year to find that coach?
-
All whites are clearly better than these, but I'm not mad. Those of you asking for the full SOW...Our equipment department never was able to angle that damn bird on the helmets correctly, ever. To be frank, it looked terrible. The feathers gives them more margin for error and the helmet looks far more symmetrical.

When you are winning it doesn't take large scale marketing campaigns to get people to show up. Must be nice. However, gotta rack on it that says there are quadruple more than 3k TCU fans in attendance. Maybe more.

I’m worried UTSA may win Saturday

Until they play KU, of course. -

I hope they do win. Rising tide lifts all boats. -
No shot that 2027 game happens. And if it does, there will be 29k OU fans at that game.

Those dang possessive and plural words. Tricky ole apostrophe. Better just to leave it completely out.

As far as budgets go, you're reallu just pointing out the contrast between MWC vs SBC, not Boise vs App State. They might not be financially mutual, but they are similar in how they stand operationally. As far as Moore and his successes, it's all relative. They were FCS just trying to find their way to a bigger stage whike still having success. And big monied salaries doesn't necessarily equate to success (see UNT). App States guy makes half the money ours does.

I think you may be examining this program in too much of a micro way. They are 616-337 as a program, and over the last 30 years they've been better. And they've proven, much how Boise has, it's not a coach thing but rather administrative commitment to excellence. And with these decades of success their fans/alums are committed to the program and has a standard.

I understand your point. He is a good coach. I wouldn't be angry if that's the next guy. I just question his recruiting prowess and his ability to care about wanting to use the transfer portal, recruit hard, get in line with NIL. A lot has changed since he was leading TCU to their good times. He doesn't strike me as a guy to wants to put up with the evolution of the game. Rather he comes off as a guy that is going to continue to do what he has always done which is go get undersized and lightly recruited players and plug them into unorthodox positions to fit his need and where they can best help. That just isn't going to work here, imo. -
Big game. Assuming we lose to Memphis next week this game is of importance. Are we going to enter conference play vs a somewhat quality conference opponent feeling good about ourselves or on a losing streak.

No thank you. I don't want to go the re-tread route. It typically doesn't work out for any kind of sustained amount of time and we all know how it worked out here for us. He's had his opportunities. Let's give someone that will show much more hunger in today's college football climate. -
Well, the poster that originated this thread is a Dan McCarney fan. So, I'm sure he enjoys soaking in pedestrian QB play.

Should have definitely waited until Oct. 1. Would've cut that buyout in literal half. but, egos and stuff.

Great post. Only thing to make yesterday perfect would've been if somehow Bama and UT could've both lost. -
Phil Bennett needs to resign

1 game? I'm confused? -
Why hell no?

No thanks. He has the exact same demeanor as SL. Arms constantly crossed. Pacing around. Minimal emotion. Constipated facial expression. Not a closing recruiter. We'd be basically hiring the same guy.

I love UNT. I root for UNT. I think UNT could be great. But I also think UNT is an athletic scam. I think there is rarely (Cobbs and I'm sure others) anyone (coaches or administrators) associated with the football program that really gives a damn about the University of North Texas and its athletic programs. Too much money is made for the results we are served up. We (the administration) refers to us as a value university (which I don't like), but where the hell is our value in athletics, especially considering the money invested and the money paid out? The ROI is minimal. But, yet, people are making very good money off of our "value" university.

SL doesn't care. WBs job depends on it. Or so it should.
