  1. It was asked of Wren at the Collin County Coaches Caravan last night. He gave a non committal "we're looking at it carefully" type of answer.
  2. Exciting game for both fan bases... Feels much better than New Orleans vs a Sunbelt team. Also uncomfortable with Tech getting that close to Littrell. 😓
  3. See y'all at the Collin County event tonight. I'll be the guy in the green shirt. 😎
  4. So you're saying its not worth the $450 + 2 hotel nights to fly there for the football game? I would get to mark LYH off my airports I've flown to list... On travel games I expect to win, I think I may go to El Paso for that game vs Lynchburg.
  5. Park Place Lexus had valet a the dealer for the Plano one last year... And entry was $5 then too for Alumni Association Members. I saw the "one drink ticket" note for this year... I see the alumni association is getting cheap on events. Definitely had more than one drink last year. They did this at the recent Collin County Alumni event too. GMG
  6. I have a Green North Texas Flag sticker on the back window of my Grand Wagoneer. 😁 I struggle with driving it to Denton from Plano for games mainly because you always have to be prepared to break down... and I don't want to miss the game!
  7. #blessed 🙏
  8. I love real estate developers... If you ever see a conceptual drawing of any commerical (or in this case sports) development and see beautiful green fields just assume it's actually big beautiful parking fields. That whole area behind the stands that say FAU and the endzone stands to the left of the press box tower in the pic is parking lots and 2/3 story cheap ugly architecture college buildings. There's quite a bit a development between the stadium and the water... like miles of other stuff. Its like saying SMU's stadium is built on the shores of White Rock Lake.
  9. That's subjective. Its not next to the beach, I spent a late Friday through Sunday there and didn't even see the beach flying in and out of FLL and staying/eating/etc in Boca. My observations: The stadium pushed off in the back section of their campus, isn't visible from the main road, and the road to it from the main road isn't scenic or giving a nice showcase of the campus. I enjoyed the small section near the endzone with beach lounge chairs and palm trees just as an area to sit before going to the seats (you can't see the field). The bleacher seats were awkward to get to. You had to walk up a rather large flight of stairs only to walk back down to the seats only a few rows above the field. The concourse isn't really nice, I don't remember a lot of TV's to see the game when I was waiting for 30+ minutes to get a beer, not all concessions had alcohol, and they literally ran out of beer at the CUSA championship game which wasn't half full. Nothing around the stadium is nice, its a sea of parking lots with no shade and no grass you can tailgate on. Source: I flew to Boca and watched us get decimated at the CUSA championship game.
  10. You had me at the jab at Reffert ❤️
  11. If they beat OU and UCF they will be on a conquest to beat every CUSA team by as much as possible... 13-0 without a loss in 20+ games isn't out of the question for Kiffin Atlantic. They want a Natty, either real or UCF grade...
  12. National TV: +1 Thursday Night: -1 That can't help attendance either...
  13. Where are all these "functions" at? I have been to the Collin County Alum mixers, Coaches Caravan, and Spring Game, but other than that it never seems like there's that much going on. I know they have my name, address, and telephone... The Athletics Department took almost 3k from my bank account for season tickets. It's sad, I get more calls for donating from my undergrad department than I do from the Athletics Dept.
  14. "Everyone was in the suites"
  15. If we make a second year in a row showing at the CUSA championship, can the Alumni Association or some quasi-University affiliated body please put together an official tailgate? It was sad being a fan in Boca for the championship game. I think the closest thing to a UNT tailgate I saw was 3 green shirts sitting in the back of a rental car company SUV drinking a gas station 12 pack.
  16. Thanks to UNT, the Team, and Verus for the great event! ...and the free beer and BBQ at the Verus tailgate. Great time!
  17. They did take my money for club level tickets about mid week last week... Coincidence?
  18. WSJ had Dallas as its #1 pick for awhile. I'm still convinced its DC. 3 of the top 20 sites are Washington DC area. UNT can benefit only as much as they choose to foster a partnership with Amazon for internships and new grad jobs. I've always felt that U of North Texas' worst skill was leveraging the huge business community immediately south on I-35. We should be the hometown public university for DFW, pumping out good middle of the road graduates that aren't pompous little shits like some of the new grads from UT, A&M, SMU, Baylor, etc. Instead in my experience UNT rarely has made good connections with the business community and instead lets hearsay reputation and published graduation rates tell the story instead. #olddenton just isn't a sports problem, its a campus wide problem.
  19. Lost me a Dallas Baptist ranking better than North Texas...
  20. I'm going to send the Missionaries to your house with that sort of talk. They have a book they'd like to tell you about... Did my graduate work at U of Utah. Sports in Utah is a weird thing, but BYU and Utah always seemed to pack their respective stadiums. I wish we had their energy at Apogee. If you want a good laugh, wait for the pencil whipping of the Jazz by the local Mormon newspaper when they play a Sunday home game. Only apostates dare show their face at the arena.
  21. Love seeing that Mean Green in the NFL wall!
  22. Hope we can bring alot of fans, it's only a 5ish hour drive from the Metroplex. I can't wait!
  23. Isn't this why UTD exists?
