  1. We are flying into Pensacola on Saturday morning and driving to Mobile. Depending on the traffic through the tunnel, we'll be there an hour or two before game time.
  2. It's already here: https://www.highereddive.com/news/private-equity-college-sports-athletics/717059/ I believe there was already talk last year of FSU funding their ACC buyout with the help of PE.
  3. Yes. My truest UNT loss was when I got into Teambuilder and downloaded DFW's own Collin College Cougars. The ole Quad C Cougs were ranked in the teens, and UNT played them at their stadium (which looked suspiciously like Cal's Memorial Stadium). We lost by three touchdowns. It was my Portland State. Whoever loaded Collin College into Teambuilder modeled their offense and defense after Alabama, so they majorly improved over their current football teamless D1 JuCo status.
  4. What's the story with these not installed yet? I was surprised they weren't in before ticket pickup, which is always in August each year.
  5. There should be a referral program in place for people to get their friends, family, neighbors, and former classmates to buy season tickets. The Athletic Dept should also have a table setup at every Alumni Association event in TX trying to get people to buy tickets. If the staffers aren't available, then reach out to Alum Association season tickets holders to staff the table. Offer them referral money or discounts off their next season's tickets for providing a contact that the actual AD ticket people can convert to a sold seat. I can also assume there's a lot of Denton area events like Jazz Fest, NT County Fair, etc that out ticket office could also man a booth at. Not sure why we're not one of the tents at places like the Byron Nelson or The Colonial, which both have tents from all sorts of people selling stuff a lot less fun than sporting events tickets. If anything, you're just trying to add names to a marketing list, if you convert those additions to 1 game or season tickets holders down the line and for many years to come, you were successful. Understanding the marketing funnel seems to escape our AD's abilities.
  6. With all the alcohol partnerships coming up this season, I'm starting to think the AD is trying to prepare us for pain. 🫣
  7. Most books still have the Jags as a 7.5 point favorite. I think I saw a 6.5 at some random sportsbook, but the odds on this game have been very steady for awhile. Some might even say the odds are being very kind to us.
  8. Wouldn't you have too? It ain't easy being green.
  9. Further proof I no longer read the entire email, no matter who sent it.
  10. Bingo. Don't they assume that most Mean Green faithful live and work near the employment centers of Plano, Frisco, Las Colinas, Richardson, Addison, and Downtown Dallas? It takes every bit of coordination to make 7 p.m. basketball games during the week in the winter in Denton when you don't live/work in Denton. I'd need to leave the office at 4 pm to make Bartonville by 6 pm on a weeknight.
  11. Got the email for this today. Hope to see all of you on Saturday. Does anyone know if they're doing anything (gifts???) for the season ticket holders at this event? Once upon a time, you used to get something tangible; we even got plastic hanging tix for CL! Now all I get is a text that my e-tix are ready. It feels like it might as well have been a text from Doordash telling me my $50 doordash'ed wings are sitting on the front porch.
  12. I appreciate the rare organization from Mean Green fans, but why would we not buy through the ticket office on this one? Are we expecting them to run out of space at the USA Stadium? I'm sure I'll pay more than $13, but won't we at least be sitting with the other traveling fans? It's always nice to have all of us sitting together when we travel. I might even recognize some of you people. We're flying into Pensacola on Saturday morning and driving over. Unfortunately, there are no Southwest flights to Mobile. After the game, we're heading north to BHam to see family. GMG.
  13. The dyed hair Zoomer students may immediately file a Title 9 violation against him...
  14. ACC will be forced to merge with the MAAC... or merge with *GASP* the AAC! See you soon Ponies!
  15. ...and yet here you are wasting time posting on a UNT fan message board. Don't you have even MORE money to make?
  16. If anything, he has regressed through the years.
  17. If he went to Houston y'all would have him riding the bench unless he suddenly gained a bunch of discipline in his fast break, ball handling, and learning not to be a messy inaccurate hero at the end of close games. Appreciate his contributions. Hope your check is big and you actually get to play where you go.
  18. We booked sometime a few weeks ago and it was $548 for two nights at Home 2 Suites on the Hilton app. Honestly it's no better or worse than some of the prices for hotels at our other away game cities. Two nights at the Hampton Inn in Hattiesburg, especially if it was their homecoming weekend, would regularly be $600 back when we were in CUSA. Have you ever tried to stay two nights in Ruston? $550 to $650 at that Courtyard during most of our weekends there. Being a college football fan has never been cheap.
  19. K State? Appreciate the North Texas pic, wish he had at least gave a shout out to Mac.
  20. This game exposed some of our consistently questionable game planning. Not sure if its a function of our starting 5 or the coaching. Seton Hall is a very good team, probably should have been in the NCAA Tourney, especially after seeing some of the first 4 and first round games.
  21. ...and Mean Green as of moments ago.
  22. With UAB and FAU both going out on Friday, and no AAC teams in the CBI. I declare North Texas the MBB team who has gone the farthest in March! 🏆
  23. Jayden Rashada at Florida in Football not getting his money. Or the flip side there Kayden Proctor who took NIL money and then bounced back into the portal. Cam Rising taking half a mil and never playing a snap last season. It's very much the Wild West our there for both Collectives and Players.
  24. Pretty sure he's ineligible for a Roth if the IRS is seeing him bring in $250k in a year. And maybe I need a new money guy, but isn't the regular IRA max this year still $6500? I get the sentiment of what you're saying... but you aren't hiding $250k pretax into a Roth IRA in a single year. Hopefully he's well diversified in Bonds, Treasuries, Equities, his IRA, etc etc. 😅 Basically I hope he didn't go out and buy a Hellcat with that money (if he got it).
  25. From what? Hodge? UNT Fandom? I remember a lot of bad basketball years in my 25+ years of being a fan. This doesn't even make my top 10.
