The Big12 is far more focused on picking up Pac12 teams than picking up anymore AAC teams. Unless SMU has an inside line to move themselves to ACC only to get smoked week after week by mid-tier P5 teams and Clemson, there's little chance of them getting a P5 invite.

Freshmen and other on campus students who we depend on greatly for any sort of decent student attendance.

Labor day weekend might not help us. We're compeating against the student body going on a 3 day trip home or somewhere else. Not quite as bad as the Saturday after Thanksgiving, but there will be people traveling that could negatively affect attendance. That being said: Announced 26,453... Reality 17,035. And since we're playing SMU, we'll use their old line: I know the stands look empty, but everyone was in our luxury skyboxes bro.

I've been to three versions of this event (Fuzzy's, Killarney's, & ChopShop) and this was the best yet. Hope everyone bought lots of drinks and tipped their wait staff well! Thanks to @UNT 90 Grad!

This is a terrible idea. I'd rather get experience with 3 P5 teams each year in OOC games than waste our time with the likes of the Harvard of Huntsville, Sam Houston. Matter a fact, with us not having to devote a OOC game to SMU anymore after next year, I'd like to see us plan for opponents that give our players (and coaches!) actual reps against formitable playbooks, not pick games to get a feel good FCS stats win.

You could fly into Ontario in CA and drive the 3-4hrs to Vegas... There's usually cheap flights into Inland Empire on the weekend because there's no reason to go there on the weekend. 😅
