Soccer over College Football? Isn't that treason?

Being that I had been mostly focused on my job, employees, and customers this week, I thought I was about to open a "I fired Littrell" email from Wren when I saw this in my inbox today. But I guess not... Don't get me wrong, I'm also VERY excited about more paper towels in the HUB Club and the ability to move easier between the CL and the concourse. The paper towels will be important to wipe my tears of disappointment from my seats I pay too much for, and the ability to get to the concourse so I can calm my Game Day stress/disappointment/disillusion/anger with more nachos is critical. THANK YOU WREN! 💚

What big things are Wren and his team so laser focused on that they can't seem to execute facilities at 6 Saturday home football games a season for less than 20k fans? He's already got us in another bigger better athletic conference, he's already got two winning basketball coaches, he's got some decently high performing non-rev sports teams. What else other than our crown jewel football program should he be occupying his time? I saw Grant at the football game on Saturday, I saw AD lackeys chasing around the big money center section CL ticketholders on their way out with a quarter to go... What was Wren doing? If I was Wren I would get a good laugh out of all of the apologist that support my every short coming. The $hit needs to roll uphill mi amigos.

"That Damn NIL!" This is the the UNT fan base's new Covid Y1 and Covid Y2 excuse for expecting less from the program. Seth and Wren don't even appear to be trying... But NIL!! Hold your program administrators to a higher regard!

If you go to the away games that involve airplanes but aren't the sexy non-con games in fun locales you start to run into the player parents. They often chat you up just because they see you regularly on flights or sitting in the visitor section. Often they ask "what player is yours" and they look dumbfounded when we say something like "I just thought we'd fly to Hattiesburg etc to see them play." That being said, not a single player parent I've seen in the past few years looks happy. Even Mason's mother was mad as hell his last season here in the stands. Another example was the Murphy twins' parents. They were both the nicest people, we even joked about just carpooling rental cars at one point because we shared so many flights. But I was not surprised at all when they both got out of here as quick as they could. The father and mother's face said it all at every away game I saw them at.

It's an amazing way for a small insular self protecting group of people to make a huge paycheck. If you think about it, UNT might be one of the best places to collect these high 6+ digit checks year after year. No one expects to be held to the same winning expectation that other D1 university programs expect but we still cut some fairly fat checks.

At this rate you might as well turn that beautiful IPF into a Spirit Halloween. It would be more useful than whatever Seth and Wren have going on in there currently. Big beautiful buildings don't make a good program. We play in an AMAZING $70m stadium that most G5 programs would give their left nut to play in even 11 seasons into its use. Didn't RV stand at the helm of the construction of that? Since he was involved in our crown jewel stadium, maybe we should have kept him around? No? Then maybe the same applies to Wren and his IPF and misc Olympic Sport facilities that has been built during his tenure.

And when he is able to #hit6 by end of season and you're surrounded by another year of a beaten down fan base that is so ready to move on to Basketball that they just don't care enough to push Wren and the University about it? Because thats whats going to happen. And thats how we end up with a 2023 AAC inaugural season with Littrell at the helm.

And Rax was better roast beef sandwich chain than Arbys... But thats the past and Rax is out of business. Shall we continue to talk about the past and things that don't matter today?

I feel ya. And am glad to hear someone else in CL complaining about this. Cutting the check for those tickets year after year lately is painful. Not because I can't afford it, but because it feels like an awful way to spend thousands of dollars. And for the love of god, PRINT THE F-ING PLASTIC TICKETS FOR CL!! If you can bring back the buffet, you can bring back plastic tix.

When will all the people that fawn over Wren Baker begin to hold him accountable? Isn't he essentially the CEO of the Athletic Dept? Doesn't Seth Littrell report to him?

Whats the answer? Throw more money at Littrell? Wave around $4m like Sonny walked away from at SMU and we'll have a winning coach leading the team? Forget NIL money we have or don't have, I don't think its a secret that kids probably have low to no desire to play for a Littrell coached UNT team. Get rid of the guy. He can't recruit, the program under him has NO chance of recuiting in today's G5 Texas football landscape, and all we end up doing is waiting on Basketball season. Where are all the "Wren Baker is a brilliant AD scientist" people right now? Wren was present for us to rise to a slightly deflated AAC from a trash can CUSA. Other than that, can someone please list out his Football acolades? And no, IDGAF about the Arkansas game at this point, and neither should you. Right now everyone involved with decision making regarding the future of FBS Football at UNT looks like a sloth that is clearly collecting a check and hoping they somehow ascend to a P5 program through some sort of miracle... or in Wren's case because of every sport OTHER than football.

Random Mean Green person stops me mid aisle at Buccee's Denton looking mad as hell and tells me his son is a player and expresses his disappoinment. He then tells me that according to his son, all the players dislike the coaching staff and say they have no energy. No idea who this guy's son is, but I believe every word he said. At least the Lovelace Family likes Littrell!

Our strength and conditioning and nutrition programs are always suspect. At this point, I assume someone important's cousin runs them.
