  1. Im not thrilled with Morris so far, but I think Dilf is a much worse hire. I'm torn if I support them or USF at next Saturday's game. USF's fanbase is annoying and is convinced former Big East membership years ago means they're next in line for the ACC when it implodes shortly. A winning season this year + a heavy dose of recent-ism means they'll be next up. But I also just don't like UAB for obvious reasons.
  2. Rise! We're still crazy enough to support the Mean Green next Saturday in Annapolis. Is there anywhere we should eat or see before or after the game in Annapolis? We're staying in the District and driving up for the day, but the 2:30 kickoff means we could hit a notable lunch & dinner on both sides of the game in the area. Any scenic spots we should see? I love the Chesapeake Bay area. I was sad I waited too long to find a decent hotel in Annapolis for under $500 a night 😩. The last time I was in Annapolis was in 2012 for work, and I've never seen a Football game at Navy, so I wanted to check this stadium off the list. My wife was thrilled when I reminded her we had plane tickets booked (sarcasm). We bought game tickets through UNT, so I assume we'll be one of a few in the visitor section. I know better than to ask about anything resembling a tailgate for a game this far away. See some of you there?
  3. That mindset is working out very poorly for all the CFB coaches who choose to die on that hill.
  4. There was a decent amount up until half time. Then all the band parents left.
  5. While there's a decent amount of people milling around for Parents Weekend by The Hill, there was little traffic at the Alumni Pavilion, and no cars in the Green or Black lots. Hub Club is pretty dead too 45 min till kickoff. ☹️
  6. As a nosy fan combing X/Twitter I'm trying to understand this Tweet from Ridge Texada's dad. His dad had a huge ring on at the game. Not sure if he coaches somewhere where he won something? He played at La Tech, but I don't think he was on any teams back then that won anything to get the huge ring. 🤷🏼‍♂️
  7. Dumb take... and I donate.
  8. Wouldn't have it any other way!
  9. I'll be there. Staying at the Ruston Fairfield Inn Saturday night. The wife has abandoned me (for this weekend only I'm told 😂), so I'm happy to transfer one of my two free tix from the athletic dept to someone else if they want it.
  10. In case you missed it, Coach O now no longer has time for your harsh words. Bonnie Brae is Rome and Coach O is our Caesar! He doesn't keep receipts, he just blocks you. Seems a bit thin skinned?
  11. Tell that to all our fellow Texas fans who are going to be insufferable come Monday morning at the office. And then there's all my P5 grad compadres both professionally and personally who are like "How'd the Mean Green do this weekend???" With that dumb ass smirk on their face. Truly being a G5 University supporter of a knucklehead program like UNT is a masochistic tendency. Seek professional help friends! I would, but my wife said it's either the cost of season tix or the cost of psychiatry... and I already have the season tix. 😵‍💫
  12. Patterson has been tweeting pics of himself tailgating at TCU games since W1 saying it's the first time he's done it in decades. I have a hard time seeing him walking away from retirement and TCU tailgates. He truly loves the Frogs despite how they treated him at the end. Honestly they may ask for him back with how they looked the last two weeks.
  13. There it is... Whether you're right or wrong, its another year of talking about how next year will be better before its even Oct 1st of current year.
  14. Have you read any game threads on here in real time? From the first set of downs people were calling for him to be gone. GMG.com isn't shy about being a critic. Couldn't speak on why they removed your post.
  15. Don't worry, we'll be allowed to have this conversation by the 2025 season.
  16. Houston, Dallas, Austin, Atlanta, Nashville, and Charlotte all are very thankful for all the LSU grads the State of Louisiana produces for its out of state neighbors.
  17. What is the basis for this claim?
  18. If it wasn't for ESPN basically owning the AAC conference, you wouldn't hear the words "UNT" uttered on ESPN outside of ESPN+ and ESPN 8 The Ocho for the rest of the season.
  19. Are you sure they didn't paint over the horizontal CUSA logos and then paint the AAC "A" over it? I've seen them paint the field before, I assume they have some mechanism to rake the pellets loose after. They should have painted the DATCU logos over the horizontal CUSA logos (similar shape and size) and put the AAC A on the left side (if you're sitting on the home shade side.
  20. Seth didn't coach the bowl game. He was fired very shortly after the CUSA championship game.
  21. I've read this a few times since yesterday's GameDay. I would say from a production sound point this is 100% what was missing in previous years. I get the old timers may not want anything but the occasional 70's classic rock song between downs, but most sporting events are constantly pumping music/sound effects in between plays to try to keep energy up in the stands. Unfortunately the speakers still are awful at DATCU. New video boards seemed to perform though. I was shocked when they were going through famous UNT recording artists and put Hip Hop artists on the display. It's cool that Meatloaf, Don Henley, and Norah Jones went to UNT, but the students we complain about attendance on care more about artists relevant to them than "I would do anything for love..." being played.
  22. Did you watch the UTSA game? There were some potential bad calls that would have turned the tide of that game instantly. UTSA yesterday would have shredded us.
