  1. This is equivalent to a pizza party in the breakroom. Employees see right through this. We're too busy having the cashiers point to the 15/18/20% tip options on the week old stale popcorn and grey hot dogs to ask for NIL round ups. The food at the Pit has gotten steadily worse throughout the Mac/Hodge era. The only thing that improves is the addition of a bar. I guess it's better to be drunk than fed. I bet the Texas Legends NBA G League team gets more fans than a relocated UNT Basketball game would. 90% of the current diehards that aren't asleep in the stands live from the lake north on 35E or from Heritage Trace North on 35W. Those people aren't driving 60 mins to Frisco. I'm probably one of an absolute minority that rejiggers my entire work day to make it weeknight basketball games from the Collin County corner of the metroplex. If there's kids at UNT Frisco that live there or are at least students that only attend classes there, UNT should run a bus on game days from there to Denton. A singe 43 passenger tour bus would be a great start... till we need two... then three... and on and on.
  2. So if we don't have a name by Monday EOD we're in deep shit right?
  3. Be honest, they do just fine recruiting kids who have no interest in Athletics. Maybe if Athletics had the sports teams dress up as furries for one game, or even offer pregame "How to dye your otherwise normal hair an absurd shade of purple or blue" clinic, they could attract more of our eclectic student body to BB or Football.
  4. Would you be interested in getting in on this 5+ page thread about the same topic: @Harry plz combine threads
  5. Then make him a SVP of Finance for Athletics. Lord knows there's enough VP+ titles in the UNT Athletics and Advancement departments. Why not add another? Maybe pump him full of GLP-1's, it's clearly working for Big Brain Wrenzempic.
  6. Jared and Co will happily go and threaten and kick the spirited fans out of 120/121 as well as threatening the Maniacs. If you stand up during heated times of the game people yell at you to sit down. If you yell d-d-defense too loud, or yell at a ref, people below you complain and sometimes move. The stands behind the courtside seats can't be bothered to do much of anything. I want people to come to game... but damn, ESPN+ is cheaper than 2 season tickets if you want to watch in silence at your house.
  7. Y'all are really making Zach Babb mad over on X.
  8. I think the criticism is mostly directed towards the 19-20 year old men on the dance squad. 😂
  9. If the Florida AG is correct and the ACC GOR gives ESPN an out in 2027, we need to expect that FSU and Clemson will force their hand with ESPN and get themselves out of that conference, possibly with other players like UNC and NC State. At that point, USF, Memphis, and probably Tulane (provided they continue with a decent football showing the next two seasons) will move to the ACC just because they hate us. If we aren't already high-tailing it out of the AAC, mark my words: We will be playing Sam Houston and Tarleton State. What's left of the AAC will probably combine with C-USA or even look at a three-way combined super conference with the leftovers of the MWC + AAC + CUSA (Because B10 and SEC will be up to near 20 members each). Without the three teams from the Carolinas and FSU, the ACC will be a shadow of its former self, but if they manage to keep everyone else in it, it may still retain its perception of a "Power" conference.
  10. It was probably more sustainable, inclusive, equitable, neurodivergent, diverse, and pansexual friendly than our antiquated PC (Pre-Covid) parade. Our students won't stand for anything less... and also won't stand at sporting events either!
  11. Boxers or bikini briefs?
  12. $75 a ticket. I assume $25 was something behind the baskets or in the corners.
  13. I'm sure the Master's programs that UNT is seeing enrollment drops in are the university's top profit center. Their student population probably uses the least amount of on-campus resources during the program compared to undergrads and PhDs, and they're probably overpaying or seeing less student aid usage to be in the programs. The flip side of the coin is that it's entirely possible that people are starting to realize that employers don't really care about Master's level paper as much as they did 20+ years ago. As the state of the world is going this week, if there is a prolonged economic downturn and a depressed hiring market for undergrads, most universities generally see an uptick in kids graduating and keeping on with it into a Master's program. I would advise undergrads that they're lighting money on fire, but if you can't find a job or start paying on loans, it can seem like a real option to keep learning. Will it result in a higher level of pay once they first time enter the workforce? Probably not, especially in today's world of AI threatening lower entry-level jobs, and H-1Bs threatening the rest. But the average Gen X parents will still push University degrees as a solution to all their unemployed kids' problems, just like the Boomer parents did before them.
  14. Great bar environment and even better seafood restaurant next door. If you want a killer Italian Meat sandwich, arrive early enough to get one from Enzo's next door. Points if you sneak it into the Wilfred. 😅 Kudos to getting them to change the door pincode. I think it had been set to the year of Woodstock since the Wilfred opened.
  15. Is it lateral if: TX State goes to the PAC-Reboot with one other AAC Team that isn't us Memphis and USF go to the ACC UTEP is in Mountain West We're suddenly playing Sam Houston and Tarleton State in a combined AAC-USA? That's nightmare fuel for me, and seems entirely possible if Mosley keeps on Mosleying along with status quo.
  16. I love that one game at the AAC Tourney costs 80% of what season tickets cost behind the bench at The Pit. I know I ignored this email, but if I had bought the full tourney ticket, would it only have cost 1.5x the price of one game's ticket?
  17. Hub Club was not $240. I did start with a two though... and you get a "free" parking pass!
  18. Shouldn't UNT have a pipeline of people to hire from and intern for peanuts from its Sports Entertainment Marketing program at the Ryan Biz School? They should be doing class projects for free for the sports marketing group in the Athletic Dept. The students are green, and their ideas may not be honed, but they're closest to the problem of student engagement. Why not give them free experience with a business case, and the Athletic Department free consulting on the solution to student attendance. I always complained to those who would listen at UNT that they didn't do a great job connecting any of us in my program with the hundreds upon thousands of employers in the DFW area. Meanwhile, other U's in Texas had pipelines of employers ready to snap up a new grad and pay them pennies just to get their foot in the door. Unsurprisingly, the biz school can't even connect with the people across the freeway in the Athletic Center.
  19. If Charles keeps talking like that he might find his statue outside Jordan-Hare "relocated" to the Auburn trash compactor.
  20. My wife did not seem as excited about seven home games as I was. I then explained that if you break down the ticket price per game, it was an absolute bargain, which led to her asking how much they cost. I then faked a medical emergency not to answer the question. 😁
  21. How many people still respond to this guy's tweets trying to correct him cracks me up. The bit has been going on for years. I think the guy running the account wrote a book about it. The whole schtick is that he's wrong. But SMU is Clearance Rack Baylor, so he's right about that one.
  22. The email went out on Thursday. Granted, UNT athletics should probably know that I have had two basketball season tickets for six years now. But this is also the same school that offered me an upgrade to the Hub Club for the ECU game as a season ticket holder for Football... who has had Club tickets for almost 10 seasons.
  23. We need to hire a P4 Assistant AD from a P4 program with a history of successful football hires who can come here as AD and bring that methodology to the Mean Green. If they also have NIL experience by this point, all the better. Mosley is nice, but didn't it come from Abilene Christian? Wren spent time at P4 programs before he was brought here. Granted, he may have let Seth go slightly longer than he should have, but there was a gravitas that Mosley doesn't have. But the Neal Brown situation at WVU since Wren left UNT may mean Wren isn't great at figuring out what to do with mediocre coaches in a program with bigger fan aspirations. So, my assessment potentially has as many holes as the North Texas defensive line.
