***OFFICIAL GMG SMU vs. UNT IN-GAME DISCUSSION***
Eagle71 replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
When your LBs are faster than your DBs you have a problem. Or so it would seem. Our offense should be able to win 4 games this year, but I'm not sure the defense can win another two. QB room should be interesting this week. -
***OFFICIAL GMG SMU vs. UNT IN-GAME DISCUSSION***

New QB pls -
I thought the two teams looked pretty evenly matched, but I too thought that OU looked like it had a little more speed. With OU's record coming into this match I had to go look and see who they had played. After looking at that, I then had to check our schedule in hopes that we don't have a match against Arkansas as the Hogs beat OU 6-1 (up 5-0 at one point) in Norman last week.

Waxahachie’s City Hall Annex to be named after Chuck Beatty
Eagle71 replied to Coach Andy Mac's topic in Mean Green Football
September 23, 1967. Fouts Field. First NT game I ever saw. NTSU 31 Drake 0. Charles "Hatch" Beatty #43 and Joe Greene #75 two of many off that team that went on to play pro ball. Held Drake to 116 yards that day. Ramsey threw his first three TD passes that day. They were something to watch. Oh, that game was my first date with the young lady who would become my wife. I'd only been on campus a few days, but I do believe that at some point during that game I decided that college was going to be all right -

And the Mean Green makes another great addition to their roster by picking up a commitment from Oklahoma State transfer, Tatum Sparks (utility player). A national-level prospect who attended Shawnee High School (Shawnee, Oklahoma). Extra Inning Softball ranked her as the nation’s No. 25 prospect … Hit .538 with 14 home runs and 53 RBI in the 2020 Class 6A season … Had a 1.220 slugging percentage during the 2020 season … 2020 Large East All-State selection … District 6A-3 offensive player of the year and was a first-team all-region honoree in 2020 … District 6A-3 first-team shortstop her junior year … District 5A-3 offensive player of the year in her sophomore year … District 5A-3 first-team utility player as a freshman … Also played basketball … Member of the National Honor Society. Welcome to the Mean Green Family, Tatum. Fly Like An Eagle.

Mean Green softball just got better with the signing of junior RHP, McKenzie Wagoner (Newcastle, OK and Liberty University). Nice stats while at Liberty and she was the 2020 Gatorade State of Oklahoma Player of the Year.

Almost every time the commentators talked about Hope they mentioned North Texas. I never heard one of them speculate on just how far the Mean Green might have gone had Hope stayed at NT for our run to the Regionals and victories when we got there. We matched up well with nearly all the teams that made it to the WS this year. Our next Div 1 National Champions will be our softball team. Goals.

No debate from me. I've been waiting over 50 years for us to "step up to the plate." We certainly have the land. Title IX problem? Women's beach volleyball. Need another option? Women's bowling. Problem solved. Next reason why we can't have baseball? Clemson started their softball program three years ago and made it to the NCAA regionals this year! Fly Like An Eagle!

Lewis - INF (Soph) Walker - C (Soph) Iltis - RHP (Fr) Youngman - OF (Jr) McHughes - OF (Fr) Donner - INF (Fr) Lookin' for playing time. Word on the street is that we have several quality players coming to Denton, including transfers. Playing time is going to be tough to come by next season.
