He's worse than Fine, okay? He's been here forever and a day and has never been able to beat out anyone. He should have gone to an FCS school or Central or East Central Oklahoma...or, Missouri Southern or Pittsburg State...if he really wanted to play QB in college. Our problem is that we have too many Shanbours on our roster - guys that belong on FCS or DII rosters. I think a lot of kids in Shanbour's situation come here because it's the absolute last step before you go down to FCS. You can't blame them for trying. But, after two seasons of never seeing the field, a kid should be able to see that he's not ever going to start. Shanbour probably would have been a decent FCS QB, and potentially great as a DII signal caller. This coaching staff and the last one have been so thin at QB that they probably asked him to stay - knowing full well he'd never play. Coaches need practice players. That's what Shanbour has been here.

True. The bottom line is this: SMU beat our ass and didn't give up jack to Fine until they had ripped off 38 points in a row. Shortly thereafter they get the stupid safety because our idiot coaches are throwing out of our end zone (a la Todd Dodge late in the 79-10 blowout at OU during his debut 10 years ago). Just accept that you are beat and get the back ups some work at that point. SMU had already begun to remove starters. It was over. Back ups need game experience. Cosmetic scores and stats against their backups prove and help nothing.

Between leading 10-0 to being behind 38-10, Mason Fine was the quarterback. It was 54-17 with more than 10 minutes left in the fourth quarter, and SMU has guys on the field that will never see the field again this year...and, you are trying to sell Mason Fine as a great QB. It's a joke. He disappeared like last season. Quit trying by to paint it as anything else. Wilson couldn't bail us like he did three times last year. The SMU game proves what many said before the season: as Wilson goes, so goes UNT...in a supposed "Air Raid" offense.

2018 Commit Results Week 2

Martin's had two choices: us or Texas A&M-Commerce. Hundreds of FBS and FCS coaching staffs said, "No, thanks" to offering Martin a scholarship. -
Please, stop it. Here's perspective: the same thing that happened last year happened last night - the offensive disappeared off the map for a large part of the game. During that long stretch where the offense went into a coma, SMU began to kick our asses. Last year, we won three games because Jeffrey Wilson busted loose in the second half of games we trailed and saved our bacon. Wilson couldn't bail us out yesterday, and that was that. After SMU lifted its starters, our offense magically reappeared. You want me to be impressed that we scored 22 and piled up a bunch of yards against SMU's back-ups? Sorry. Not going to happen. Statistics are not wins. We had no Players of the Game yesterday. The whole team got its ass kicked until SMU let up and took out its starters.

No, Reffert's mean and yelly on the practice field, but kind and really caring towards the players off of it, remember? So, he stays.

11 people out of 10 can't even name the softball coach anyway...but, the rest of your post is spot on. Yeah...gotta love those coeds whose dads have already bought them boobs. Chump change. Just make future hubbie remembers to pay for maintenance on 'em every decade or so you don't look like an washed up porn star in your 30s and 40s.

Dude, who is going to buy advertising for UNT-SMU except Park Place Lexus?
-
He got Liberty to pay for half of it in his home and home deal with them?

Michigan, anyone? Truth is, any offense looks good when it's working. By the way, remember when Rich Rodriguez tried to bring the spread to Michigan? He's not from around these here parts. His dad was a Baptist pastor...in Pennsylvania! That is what qualified him to move to Texas to miscoach a faltering Baylor program.

Anyone wonder yet why Littrell and Perry "agreed to part ways" over the summer?

That is a really expensive piece whose daddy shelled out $40k a year for her elementary education degree. Go figure.
