  1. Archaeology and linguistics.
  2. How well does Army travel? Should be some good seats over on the visitor side, huh? $12 a seat? Those are fabulous prices!
  3. My son was given two tickets to Homecoming against UTEP, but we won't be able to make it. :( We're hoping to be able to drive out for the Army game, and it's a 15 hour drive for us. We were really impressed with the tickets, though, and wish we didn't live so far away.
  4. My family of six will probably (hopefully) be at the Army game on the 18th. We're hoping to drive from Arizona because my son has UNT Merit Day on Friday and the UNT Preview on Saturday. We would like to all go to the game, and we're hoping that there are decent seats that aren't too expensive. What is the range of prices? Can they be bought at the stadium? How much do really good seats cost? Etc. Thanks in advance for any insight anyone has on this!
  5. UNT is actively recruiting in Arizona and Nevada (we're in Arizona). I've alluded before to meetings they've held in Phoenix and Tucson. My son has been accepted to UNT, but it remains to be seen if their scholarship offers can compete with his other ones (he has full tuition at all three Arizona state schools). We can't afford to go there, otherwise. If they can match or exceed our out-of-pocket, we're there! We really like UNT and Denton.
  6. I've been lurking here for about a year, and following North Texas sports. My son is a senior in high school, and would love to go to UNT, but it will depend on scholarships. He has full tuition at ASU, UofA, and NAU already (we live in Arizona), and we will be applying to BYU in October (he'll get in, but BYU's scholarships are really competitive. They have 36 incoming freshmen with perfect ACTs). Really, it will come down to who gives us the best offer. But we were all *very* impressed with UNT --- especially its "feel" ---, and Denton. We also have some family in Allen. It was interesting. UNT recruited some local high school juniors in the Phoenix area last year, which was surprising to us. The dean of admissions said that UNT was looking to increase its enrollment from Arizona and Las Vegas because President Smatresk is from Phoenix and was the president of UNLV (she also said that UNT is also trying to increase enrollment from Oklahoma). We're hoping that this translates into generous out-of-state tuition scholarship offers . . . This led to us beginning to follow UNT athletics starting last year, and C-USA as well. We kind of root for the underdog, anyway, in general, but either way, North Texas is on our radar now. Wish they would get a baseball team, though. Why don't they have one? Title 9 balance with women's sports? It's nice to have another team to follow! Here's hoping we can beat SMU next week!
