Jeff Traylor makes plea to fill up Alamodome for Houston game
Rowdy replied to Coach Andy Mac's topic in Mean Green Football
Didn't realize it was homecoming, probably will be over 40k if both teams do well leading up to the game.- 41 replies

Jeff Traylor makes plea to fill up Alamodome for Houston game
Rowdy replied to Coach Andy Mac's topic in Mean Green Football
Opened up the upper deck for a few games last year. There wont be as many at this game as there were a the UAB and title game, but close. There will be quite a few coog fans there, but dont let your head get too big. Won't compare to how many Roadrunner fans will show up. Houston can't get over 30k to show up to a home game, we hit a few games in the 40k range last year, but you think we will be outnumbered at home? Truthfully, I dont know how Houston has had so much success, but struggles with attendance as much as they do.- 41 replies

Can confirm this is on track right now. That 2013 win we had came back around hard. AAC will see a good rivalry coming into conference. Congrats on the W.

If Seth beats up on FIU, I really dont see him getting fired for losing to UTSA. -

I honestly have a fear of the timing of this game. on one side, we lose to UAB and go into Denton with our heads down knowing all we just played for is gone and there is no shot at the CUSA title. on the other side, we win against UAB and go to Denton knowing we are going to the title game and dont do our due diligence for the game at hand. just feels like there are lots of ways to mess this up. -
Do ya'll realize...what we could be headed for?
Rowdy replied to TheColonyEagle's topic in Mean Green Football
I honestly think most are ecstatic that we got the opportunity and realize that moving up in conference will move all of us back to the bottom and need to build back up. Its just an opportunity that you cant pass up on, we all have to jump on it and put our best product forward. Its going to be big for all of us. Exciting times ahead. -
Wanted to drop this gem here for you guys.

All are happy to take either conference to get away form Judy, but feels like most prefer ACC over MW mostly for travel. Now if we can to chose MW with UNT or AAC with Rice, would assume MW.
-
We have yet to win in Ruston so who knows. Maybe this year we can make it happen. I hope a move up in conference helps us keep him a little longer, but we all know if the right school comes calling, he will be gone.

So does the AAC announcement come at just the right time to help bring in a new coach for UNT?
-
Twitter space isnt the best.

Apologies I didnt mean to come off rude, but that rubbed me wrong last year. Everyone was looking forward to matchup and those shenanigans came up.
-
lol. the future is bright! Also, side note. Assuming this is NTSN on twitter, they are looking for you to speak in the alliance twitter chat as a rep for UNT.
-
Maybe, but if it was a P5 school, SMU all of a sudden wouldn't have had COVID issues.
-
Very much dodged.
-
Congrats my fellow Texans! I look forward to the continued rivalry. And beating the shit out of SMU. They dodged us last year, can’t do it anymore! We have fun times ahead.

The new RACE facility is purely off donations. The AD is doing a fine job turning those around. They spit out plans the other day for a new basketball and baseball facilities (finally), but dont know when that will be happening. Its a fact, that the facilities are hurting us. Convocation center is terrible and needs to be addressed, same with baseball. I know lots of UNT fans hate the Alamodome, but theres lots that like it. Has the space for attendance growth and is something to hold up until we know what we want on campus. In my opinion, getting a look from MWC or AAC is mostly from being in a big market in Texas and a little recent success. With that said, I wouldn't mind a SBC and CUSA merger if MWC and AAC falls through. Being able to play Texas State, UNT, UTEP, Rice, LA Tech etc... every year at least brings familiarity to fans and helps put butts in seats. Anyways, I got a little off topic. We have same financial struggles like every CUSA school. Donations have just been picking up in recent due to the work or Dr. Compos.

Just about anything is better than this CUSA setup we have going on. -

I like this. I do like the idea of AAC, but if Memphis gets taken too, whats left? nothing very enticing although still better than CUSA. I go back and forth on weather MWC would actually be better, but we also dont know how all the shuffling of teams is going to play out. What are your thoughts on the two conferences? Would you rather AAC or MWC? -
Would have been great to win. And yeah, I havnt ever been a real big fan of them either. They just rub me the wrong way.

Wish I knew the answer to that. QB play is all over the place. Frank just isnt as accurate as we had hoped. Adkins can really spread the ball, but then broke his collar bone. hes back now, but is showing as second string. Really seems like we play to the level of our competition. With BYU, I would say there was some luck in there. Possibly LA tech too. also had bad luck with the likes of Army. Feels both ways.

ok... what about all other schools? I also read through their boards, guess they are all rivalries, which is kinds true. either way, about the game.... Im not sure we win this. at the moment, if you stop the run game, you have a good shot at winning. Passing game just cant find a way to always be a threat. Also, winning this game gives us a decent shot at the west depending on UAB and it just seems like UNT will be able to revenge the 2013 game in the same way. I hope not, but kinda feels like it.
