Not great in depth insight or anything, but cool to see we are on a watch list for this. We are number 8. The article has been out for a bit, but I did not see it on the board. I think for us to have a chance to win this game... It will be with big plays. We wont be able to wear them down. We will just have to hope we can have enough 30+ yd TD plays to win it.

At first I was on board with the Texas behind the eagle. Now, not so much. I liked that we had a logo that didnt rely on anything else to make it more "legitimate." Can you think of any P5 school that uses the state outline with their logo? I would maybe consider putting the outline of Texas on the small UNT logo, but don't mess with the eagle. I will say though, that I do like that it is subtle. Do wish the midfield logo was a little bigger. I like the look that programs are doing with bigger logos there. Just my two cents...

This was an awesome event! The $5 was well worth it. 2 drink coupons, appetizers and dinner. Raffle for free premium parking and Mean Green swag. Coaches and AD were great. Of having it at the Reata helped make it great as well. If you can go to one of these... GO!

Interesting that UAB is ranked so low. Seems like a lot of folks think they are a potential L for us. Also, interesting to note that we are finishing 2 spots ahead of Troy who whooped us. Love that we are getting some props though! Just win baby! BEAT SMU!

As much as I would like to win the west... I might have to agree with this one. I would rather win a bowl game too I think. It was not good for the team to get whipped by FAU in the championship game then head into a bowl game. I would rather have a big win vs UTSA be the the game they are coming off of heading into a bowl.

I think this is all good news. Yes, it is just above league minimum. But it does show that the 49ers see something in him to get this done. UNT doesnt get guys that often in the NFL. So, for Jeff to get a shot is awesome. What kind of deal did Dubar sign with the Cowboys? I wonder if it was much different than this.

I would love to see us play some more OOC games with regional interest. Houston, Texas State, Tulane. Of course I would LOVE to see some Big 12 matchups as well. I love that we have Tech coming up in a couple of years. I do have faith that Wren will be able to make more of these happen, either in home and home situations or I would even be ok with neutral site games for Big 12 opponents. It would be like having a second bowl game every year. I wouldnt hate it.

I agree... The sooner we can get ahead of something like this, the better. Its not our Super Bowl game, but we need to have it on student's radar as soon as fall classes start. Of course, if the team has a great season up to that point, attendance may not be an issue.

I think this is the most realistic reach goal... Lose to ark and FAU twice again. Win bowl game. I know you dont want to admit defeat to FAU twice this early... but lets be real. I would be thrilled with this result. GMG!

Yes... this happens to me! My favorite though... is when I wear an UNT polo to work on Fridays, people around the office think I am a Philly fan. I tell them that its UNT, not Philly. They retort with "well isnt that the Eagles logo?"

There are some great points being made here. A couple thoughts... One, is that there is some hard truth to what @wardly is saying. What we have been putting on the field in recent history has been bad. In fact... the long history of UNT football has been bad for the most part. Why would you be interested in that? It has been a part of the culture for years. Most students on campus think "we suck at sports." Have they looked to see how we are doing? No. Have they ever tried going to a game? No. Are things turning around? Yes. I think we are headed in the right direction. We are not selling the same dog food. The dog food tastes different... better. This current administration in the has a lot to undo while trying to promote something better. That is a big hill to climb. That hill is worth climbing though. If we keep on the track we are on, we will have students who have spent their years at UNT with a winning program. Then you will be surprised at all the alumni coming out of the woodwork. Remember when Baylor went on their run a few years ago? No alumni would claim their allegiance to that team... a few winning seasons and it was sic em bears all over the place. We can get there, and I think the juice is worth the squeeze. GMG!

Man... I love the offseason. Its that time of year where we bring up the old guard and point fingers. From the OP... I think its awesome where we are right now. I am hopeful that football turns a corner this year. My wish list for FB: - Beat SMU - Win the West - Win our bowl game

I am with most of you... winning your conference is the goal. HOWEVER, winning this POSTSEASON tourney, will be a huge win for our program. One of the biggest wins. Lets not enjoy this and not poo poo on the fun. The rest of the conference is sitting at home... we are still dancing and it is so much fun! GMG!
