The reason that more Denton residents don’t buy in is because North Texas football has had 5 winning seasons, 6 winning seasons if you include this year, in 20 years. People don’t wait around for a team to get good, they go and find another one. Yes fans should be loyal, but there is a reason you see more Warriors Jerseys and Patriots Jerseys...people want to be associated with winning, not losing. We’re playing catch up and it’s going to take at least a decade of consistent winning to build a rock solid fan base capable of selling out Apogee regardless of who the opponent is. GMG

Realistically how much can North Texas put up to keep SL? This is probably in another board post but I don’t want to go looking. Would 2 million a year be out of the question?

I am also crazy. They’re going to win a game, I just don’t see them going winless two years in a row.

As the population of the DFW area increases so will the demand for entertainment. If a winning North Texas football program can coincide with that population boom, the future looks bright. I know this keeps being said but North Texas needs to keep winning and if they can sprinkle in a signature win against P5s or conference championships consistently, they will capture more and more of the market share. Anyway my .2 cents GMG

Very small chance this happens but a bowl game against TCU would be great. They look very beatable this year.

With the rest of CUSA being in a down year...I think nothing less than winning out the rest of the season, then maybe North Texas will get some top 25 votes.

Two takeaways on the day, the defensive line was getting pressure and sacking the quarterback. I know one sack was negated because of an unsportsmanlike penalty but as a whole, defense shut down Southern Miss.

I’m guessing it got deleted because they were getting ridiculed so badly. 🤷🏽‍♂️

I’ve noticed Mason Fine does a sort of turn or spin to get out trouble when scrambling. If you seen Russel Wilson play I think you’ll know what I’m talking about.

There was bad weather to start the game, even delayed kickoff 30 min because of lighting. Game was also on ESPN3. Lots of factors that went against a good turn out. The hardcore fans made it out.

People are getting tired of seeing the same two teams playing every year for the national championship. The playoff should be expanded to include at least one school not from the so called P5. At this point it’s not so much the college football playoff but more of an invitational.

I remember going there for a bunch of high school football state championship games. Honestly it’s unremarkable other than it fits 60,000. The area surrounding it, from what I remember is not that great either. It’s a multi-purpose staduim so it doesn’t do anything particularly well.

I’m hoping these ladies can finally make some noise in the NCAA tournament. GMG

Valid point, but I feel that way about the whole of CUSA right now. It’s hard to gauge, at least from my perspective which team can run through their conference schedule without dropping a game or blowing a game they were suppose to win.

North Texas should be able to win 20+ games next year....right? 🤨

The defense had two interceptions and had some critical stops? This was UTEP’s homecoming game and they’re getting better each week. They play LA Tech in two weeks, perfect timing for UTEP to finally get a win.

UAB won and UTEP is going to be tough for teams in the west division going forward. This thing is wide open, North Texas is coming off an emotional loss and gutted out an ugly win. We can sit here and nit pick this win, which is every fans right to do so, but North Texas is 5-1 right now. That is awesome! GMG

A lot of emotional energy was used last week. I remember last year coming off the UTSA game North Texas played with zero energy. It happens.
