As big of a fan of Mason as I am....I saw underneath receivers open that he didn't throw to. This is a pattern I noticed last year. He looks for the home run and doesn't take the check down often enough. I love his spirit and his talent, but Bodie, from what I've heard and seen and read, wants to hit big money on each play. You're not going to get that at this level, this isn't FCS. We lost because of our hubris tonight, in my opinion.

Part of the reason Mason has had success here is because he doesn't always need to see what's going on, he knew the offense well enough to know where to throw on the field without necessarily being able to clearly see it. I think this may be a problem with a lack of familiarity with Reeder's offense.

This is why I tend to blame coaching. We've seen them make catches in tight coverage and deal with man coverage before. Why couldn't they get open tonight? To me it seems that it has to be scheme.

I'm seriously confused at how SMU, a program with a lackluster record over the past few years, has garnered this much attention from transfers. I mean really, what do they have to offer that others don't. I'll let y'all speculate.

This dumbass thinks that they can beat us by 5 when Arkansas State threw all over their butts. I'm not knocking Arkansas State, and they could turn out to be a really good team this season and Logan Bonner could make a name for himself at qb, but based on what we know about the talent of last season, we should have a better offense than Arkansas State. It may be a high scoring game but I would pick us in a shootout over them.

They seem like wonderful people who raised an good son but I think Mason deserves some credit for it too...
